@@johannahbagaoisan9872 Huh, really I only have two issues with it: the credits song doesn't fit the movie's tone at all, and Chris Pine is a weird choice to voice a teenager. Aside from those, I can't think of anything else.
Or a show. Imagine all the heroes and villains you could make. I would love to see a villain who can control metal or lava, that would be impressive :D I can see Jack and Tooth the fairy being together. She clearly has feelings for him and that hug at the end was just adoable; Jack likes it! Not sure there's only friendship between thoses two X3
@@ladypool1404 I'd have loved to have seen a RotG show. It'd have been so awesome! I'm not sure the's a holiday or childhood myth character that can control metal, but Mother Nature could be someone who could control lava. Nah, she just likes his shiny teeth. jk, I don't know if they'd end up as a couple, but it'd be interesting.
I loved Kung Fu Panda! The sequel was the first movie I ever saw in a theater as a kid and it was great! Likeable characters, funny humor, creative story, awesome visuals, and more!
The number one dreamworks movie of all time... in my opinion.....is How to train your dragon. Even though Kung Fu Panda 2 is a very close second behind it. But just the animation, the score, hiccup and his dads character development and so many scenes within the film itself are beautifully shot and have such a powerful message behind it. Oh my god i love it so much
Thank you for making my opinions feel validated on The Hidden World! Side characters were overused, and I was majorly bummed out that Steven Spielberg came in and suggested all these changes that basically wrote out a more solid conclusion to Drago's story.
I agree, I especially hated what they did with Snotlout. He's always been a bit annoying but him going after Hiccup's mom was just wrong. I really didn't like that. The other side characters were on the same level as the other movies so I didn't mind them too much.
I think people praised this movie mainly for wrapping things up in a meaningful way. It really does pluck your heart strings in the end, but the whole movie's biggest problem is that, for some reason, it struggles a looottt with the pacing and the themes. Characters that have developed throughout the rest of the franchise (beside the main ones) are pretty much either put in a corner or they're severely dumbed down. Snotlout seemed like he got reversed to his HTTYD1 self which is sad imo, you'd think he has some amount of respect towards Hiccup by now. The twins where nothing but a constant (bad) joke. Fishlegs is underused and pretty dumbed down. Eret is basically the same as he was by the end of HTTYD2, doesn't do much of value in this one. Valka, oh Valka my gal... I can't believe just how little this movie cares for her when more than anything, my 2014 self was hoping she'd be one of the mains in the third one. I'm mostly fine with where they had Gobber in this one I think? I just wanted to see more of him, maybe give him a moment to be completely vurnable when talking to Hiccup about Stoick or something, or anything that's not for comedic purposes really. Also there was a hint towards his real sexuality in the previous film, but of course, they never properly adress that. 'Cause I guess "ughhh don't say gay", plus the "don't bring up adult topics in children's content" but ok lol. Drago isn't there at all when he should've returned and he should've been given more depth. And also.... how come this movie is titled "The Hidden World", yet we only get to spend time inside the Hidden World for like 3 minutes out of 104? But even Toothless, man, one of your main characters... he's 10000% a silly puppy dog now. He's had moments that shown he still can be a pretty fierce animal when he wants to in the first two movies, or when he's threatened. Don't get me wrong, I love him as it is anyway but like, c'mon now man. You had him become the Dragon King, you've shown him being a menace towards Berk's enemies even well after he's become Hiccup's puppy. Just let him be both a puppy and a threat at the same time. At least we got a glimpse of that at the very end, before he recognised Hiccup's older self. Him gaining all these extra powers when flying with Light Fury and (only briefly) using them later on had ABSOLUETLY NOTHING on that amazing scene in HTTYD2, or on his first entrance ever for that matter. OK so I wrote a whole essay on this almost lmao, sorry. But this is my current take on HTTYD3. I left the cinemas feeling ecstatic when I first saw it. But then I reviseted it and I started to look more at the execution of the plot, rather than just at its plan A and plan B. In my opinion, Hidden World should've been much darker than it was, if not the darkest out of the whole trilogy. Though not lacking in comedy of course. The stakes are incredibly high, yet they kinda hold back on a lot of things with this film. Whenever an action sequence or a dialogue sequence is bound to get more intense, they dial down and add a joke to appeal a lot more to a younger audience. Which doesn't make much sense to me because I feel like the peeople who grew up with the first HTTYD1 would kinda want to see the stakes in the final film being taken much more seriously all the way throughout. That's about all I have to say regarding it, I think...
6:55 Correction: It was Matt Damon that narrated. And I 100% agree that Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is above Shrek! My favorite DreamWorks movie of all time!
I HAAAAATE Matt Damon in that movie. He's a very talented actor, but when voice acting he reads lines with zero inflection and it's BORING! Luckily, he doesn't narrate/exposit that often, so I can pretend Spirit has a personality when he's not talking. It's such a good movie otherwise.
@@DisneyLover258 He’s not the worst part of the movie, but there were plenty of actors that could’ve done a better job, like Tom Hanks. May not be the best choice, but better than Damon.
@@geekedkryptonian614 Nah, Tom Hanks would’ve been awkward. Matt Damon has the right voice, but not necessarily the best delivery. That’s better than having the completely wrong voice.
Prince of Egypt is one of my favorites. I would watch it probably 3-4 times a week when I was a kid. The animation is just beautiful, the voice actors killed it, and the soundtrack is bangin’!
Right, mostly everyone hated that film because of the back story of the villain Kai. Sure that was the worse thing in the film but still the film hits hard.
"Legend tells of a legendary impressionist! Whose impersonating skills were the stuff of legend! He travelled the world, in search of worthy films!". 😂😂😂
Prince of Egypt is a special film. One of a kind. Most stills could be sold as art in themselves and the musical combination of Hans Zimmer and Stephen Schwartz is a level of ability that won’t be seen in another film.
Spirit is one of my all time favorite animated films (along with the Original Lion King) right and one that really changed my life. Helped me get into horses and eventually led me to my own horse who I adore, and now has me working to become a 2D animator. I have watched the Netflix series, is just not that great, basically another gal pals show with the horses as side characters and loaded with every cliche and anachronism you can think of. The movie seems to be a reboot of the reboot, not completely sure I want to see that one because of what the original means to me.
Honestly I had hoped to of love the reboot film, it looked fascinating and almost intense. But while it played with the story and ending better (especially freeing Spirit), I was kinda disappointed. Like how the bond of Lucky and Spirit was quick, and her bond with her dad, that was sad and cold; the series did way better with Lucky and her dad. And how they kept bringing up Lucky’s mom, I know she “looked” like her mom and everyone says Lucky “had” her “spirit,” but it’s like holding on to the past too well. She passed, it’s sad but stop holding on when we should let go. Actually I thought about the film, maybe it would of been better if they did a bit of narration, either from Lucky or the new Spirit.
You should rank the Veggietales next! I grew up watching those and have very fond memories of them and I would be interested to see what your thoughts are about them!
I knew Spirit was a 100% S tier too! The story was good, the songs were good, and I absolutely love horses too and it gave me so much emotions so it's my absolute favorite DreamWorks movie and Spirit Untamed is uh well idk it could use some improvements but it does have some details that are callbacks to the original Spirit movie
Yeah, this along with Riders and Defenders of Berk were phenomenal with character development, which is where the film's sometimes fell short with the other riders. The film animation is much better, their plots are a little less young and the scores and incredible, but for characters the shows are impossible to beat. It really makes you love the other riders instead of them being annoying
I love that you know Trollhunters. I've also been following it since it came out. I love Trollhunters. RIP Anton (actor of Pavel Chekov from Star Trek 2009 and voice of Jim)
I saw 'Kung Fu Panda 3' relatively recently and I enjoyed it! I haven't seen the first two in a long while, but I loved the concept of the third film and that Po was teaching the other pandas how to do kung fu based on their own skills/hobbies.
Fun fact: The reason why Antz and A Bug’s Life are eerily similar is because the founder of DreamWorks, Jeffrey Katzneberg, who worked on the Disney Renaissance, bitterly left Disney when he was passed up for a promotion. So he, Steven Spielberg, and David Geffen founded DreamWorks mainly out of revenge towards Disney. When they were working on Antz, John Lasseter, the former chief creative officer of Pixar, accused Katzenberg of stealing his idea for A Bug’s Life, thus sparking a feud. 🤯🤯🤯
The Prince of Egypt can kind of be considered being made out of revenge too in that Katzenberg repeatedly proposed doing something like it and it was rejected until he left.
Can you rank all silly songs with Larry as well as all of vegitales? Do them separate because honestly I have no clue which song goes with each episode. Please Love your content and impressions
Oooh I would love to see you do a tier list for either Studio Ghibli or Blue Sky films. Orrrrr.....a tier list of your favorite Silly Songs with Larry ^_^.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but Kung Fu Panda 3 really killed the series for me. ((Kung Fu Panda spoilers ahead, if you care about that.)) I feel that they leaned too hard into the silliness of pandas and made every panda too much about "comedic relief" instead of giving them any opportunity to leave an impact. Every time they were gearing up for a big "moment," one of the pandas would ruin it and make it a joke. I also think J.K. Simmons was underutilized as a villain to make Kai any sort of threat, which was a bummer since he could have been great. Where Shen was actually threatening and intimidating in the second movie and left this feeling of unease, Kai kinda just felt like a bother. He didn't feel threatening, he just felt...there. I dunno, I just wish they would have pulled back a bit on the "funny" part of pandas and let them be serious a bit too. When you see Po's dad at the end of the second one and see the village of pandas in the background, they seem far more...functional as a society. Po's moments with his dad, for example, could've been taken more seriously. Could've been really great, could've been really emotional like the story of how he ended up in the radish basket in the second movie, but they were always ruined by some punchline moment. Again, might be an unpopular opinion, but 🤷🏼♀️
No, I actually get this! They really went downhill with the villain, especially if you binge watch the movies-which I do for background noise-it really differs. Shen is unhinged and just wants power and destruction and he didn’t care who was in his way. Kai just seemed to be doing things because he felt like it and him being laidback sounding sometimes made him seem boring as a villain, in my opinion. And I really get the pandas just being used as comedic relief, and I especially didn’t like most of the pandas because if this, especially his dad
@@tamakiamajiki8647 Exactly! A villain without motivation makes an audience (or at least me) wonder why we should care. He felt like a bully with no one to pick on, not an actual threat like Shen had been. And in a way, making all of the pandas comedic relief made them all very "one note" characters. Maybe that was part of the irritation, too. It was almost like a village of two characters: Po's dad and 10 different models of a funny panda character.
I love these videos of you ranking movies. I'd love to see one involving films such as Ice Age, Land Before Time, Thumbelina, Anastasia, The Swan Princess, The Magic Sword: Quest For Camelot, A Troll In Central Park etc ... Unfortunately I don't know the companies behind these movies, but please bare them in mind if you ever considering doing another one of these videos! xXx
Love to see someone giving Spirit the mad respect it deserves! That movie is stunning and one of my all-time fav Dreamworks films :) For me though, Rise of the Guardians has to be S tier or at the very least A tier. Other than that, pretty much agree with this ranking :)

My favorite dreamworks movies of all time are :"Road to el dorado" the Shrek franchise, the Madagascar franchise (but not the penguins of madagascar movie, sorry) Home, spirit:stallion of the cimarron, and the Kung fu panda franchise, Nice video Brian, happy friday.
I'll have to re-watch Joseph sometime. I used to really like it as a kid, and watched it a few times. I respect Dreamworks for being able to make two fantastic trilogies, with Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon. Pixar really has only one great quadrilogy with Toy Story and no other great trilogy, with only a few pretty good sequels.
I'm glad you ranked Prince of Egypt so high. I love that one. I need to watch it again. I hated Turbo with a passion when I saw it. I'm kinda surprised it wasn't lower. I really loved Rise of the Guardians. The story and characters were pretty good, and it's a really pretty movie.
It's so weird how with the spin offs, the original movie Spirit does not get as talked about compared to the rest of Dreamworks. I've loved Spirit ever since I was a kid. I rewatched it recently, and it still holds up well.
Thank you so much for the tier list. Entertaining and I think a great conversation starter. Would you consider in the future doing Don Bluth films or Veggietales episodes?
I think the biggest problem with Joseph King of Dreams is that, out of all the Bible stories to tell after of Prince of Eygpt, this is the one they went with, a prequel about Moses's great X400 uncle instead of continuing the epic story. Granted to tell the next part they would kinda need to retcon the happy ending of the first movie in some pretty major ways, as well introduce a bunch of new characters that are supposed to appear earlier but don't until now (i.e. Joshua) but maybe just open the film after the 40 years in the desert on Moses's death and introduce Joshua then taking his place and maybe tell the walls of Jericho story. That's just one idea upon hundreds of others, but they didn't go with those they decided to tell a flashback story, one that is not nearly as popular as the others. But I don't suppose it would've made much of a difference as a few years later Sinbad tanked so hard it caused DreamWorks to shut down their 2D department.
actually really happy I found your channel. I've had quite a few people tell me they don't watch disney or animated movies because they're for kids. glad to see an adult with the same passion :)
My opinions: Antz: D Tier. The Prince Of Egypt: Definitely S Tier. This movie is *gorgeous,* and absolutely amazing. The Road To El Dorado: Once again, definitely S Tier. Chicken Run: Low A Tier. Joseph & The King Of Dreams: F Tier. I really don't like this movie very much. Shrek: Low S Tier. Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron: S Tier. Sinbad: Legend Of The Seven Seas: I used to hate this movie, but now, for some strange reason, I weirdly enjoy this movie. B Tier. Shrek 2: Absolutely S Tier. I honestly think Shrek 2 is way better than the first one too. In fact, I think it's probably one of the best animated sequels out of *any* movie that I've ever seen in my life. The animation is a HUGE step-up from the first movie, the humor is absolutely fantastic, the pop culture references work really well, *all* of the characters are enjoyable and entertaining, etc. I genuinely *LOVE* this movie! Shark Tale: Definitely F Tier. I really don't like this movie... at all. In fact, I think it's one of the worst animated movies ever. Madagascar: High A Tier. My favorite of the trilogy. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit: High B Tier. Over The Hedge: C Tier. Flushed Away: B Tier. Shrek The Third: D Tier. Man, Shrek The Third has gotten *so* much backlash, *so* much hate, and a lot of people treat this movie as non-canon, and let me tell you, after re-watching it, I can definitely see why. It's not an *awful* movie, to be fair, but it is *really* bad indeed. Bee Movie: C Tier. Kung Fu Panda: S Tier! I am a huge, huge fan of the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa: Low A Tier. Monsters Vs Aliens: Low C Tier. The spin-off on Nickelodeon however, is *awful!* How To Train Your Dragon: S Tier! Shrek Forever After: Low B Tier. WAY better than Shrek the Third. It's not that great or amazing by any means, but still fairly enjoyable. Megamind: Definitely A Tier. This movie honestly needs more love and credit. Probably one of the best underrated animated movies that I've ever seen. It's a shame that this movie didn't do that well in the box office. Kung Fu Panda 2: S Tier. I honestly like this a little bit better than the first one too. Puss In Boots: High C Tier. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted: High B Tier. Rise Of The Guardians: B Tier. The only thing I did *not* like about this movie, and what sets this movie back, is honestly the ending. I thought the ending was kind of... weak. But it's still a really good movie nonetheless. The Croods: D Tier. Yeah, I'm not really a big fan of this movie honestly. Which is weird, because I think the second movie is a lot better. Turbo: F Tier. Mr. Peabody & Sherman: High C Tier. How To Train Your Dragon 2: Definitely S Tier. I also like this movie better than the first one! LOL! What is it about DreamWorks is where I like the sequels slightly better than the first one?! The Penguins Of Madagascar: Low B Tier. Home: Low C Tier. I heard a lot of people say this movie is *awful,* like *really* awful. But quite honestly, this movie is not *that* bad. Sure, it's not a *good* movie either. I just think it's mediocre. And yes, I do think that Oh is annoying, but he's quite honestly not *that* annoying, in my opinion. Kung Fu Panda 3: A Tier. Trolls: Honestly... F Tier. Trolls is honestly one of my least favorite DreamWorks Animation movies. The Boss Baby: D Tier. The Captain Underpants Movie: High B Tier. I absolutely love the books. The first time I saw the trailer, I was honestly skeptical at seeing it. But when I finally watched it, this movie actually *surprised* me. I was shocked about how good this movie actually is. It's one of those animated movies where it gets toilet humor done *right!* How To Train Your Dragon 3: A Tier. Abominable: Low B Tier. Trolls World Tour: D Tier. The Croods: A New Age: High C Tier. Spirit Untamed: Absolutely F Tier. I hate this movie. Seriously, I really hate this movie so much. I take back what I said about Shark Tale. *This* is the worst DreamWorks Animation film. You're probably thinking: "This *shouldn't* be *as* bad as Shark Tale, should it"? Well, they found a way to do it. I couldn't have imagined it. Granted, it's not one of the absolute *worst* animated movies I've ever seen, but it is still *awful!* I mean... it was nice hearing Jake Gyllenhaal's voice, but... really, that's the only positive I have. I get that it's a spin-off to the Netflix series Spirit: Riding Free, which I haven't seen, but I don't think that excuses it. The Boss Baby 2: Family Business: High C Tier. It's definitely better than the first one. Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans. I actually haven't seen this movie yet. Top 5: 5: Kung Fu Panda. 4: Kung Fu Panda 2. 3: How To Train Your Dragon. 2: How To Train Your Dragon 2. 1: Shrek 2. Bottom 5: 5: Joseph & The King Of Dreams. 4: Turbo. 3: Trolls. 2: Shark Tale. 1: Spirit Untamed.
I don't care what anybody else says, Captain Underpants is one of my favorite Dreamworks and all time favorite animated movies. I grew up with the books in elementary, I'd run around the house in my undies and a cape and make my own comic books, these books were my childhood. A little into middle school, I found out Dreamworks was adapting Captain Underpants into an animated film. And, in my sixth-grade-being-cool mindset, I went "whatever." But I went to see it anyway and HOLY COW. It zapped me right back to that feeling I had in elementary of having fun and not a care in the world other than hanging out with your best friend in a super awesome treehouse. Not even speaking from a nostalgia standpoint, I think this film is genuinely well made. George and Harold's friendship is the heart and soul of this movie. I'm a huge sucker for friendships in movies and TV, and their friendship is just so giddy and pure. They bring out the best in each other, make their world so much brighter because of it. Speaking of brighter, something this film does masterfully (that I feel many movies fail to even attempt) is the use of color in the imagery. Every scene that focuses on the two boys having fun with each other or with Captain Underpants is filled to the edge of the screen with warm shades of reds and oranges, making the whole movie feel super cozy and innocent as a result. In contrast, every scene that focuses on Krupp, or really the whole school, is filled with cold blues and grays, exaggerating the dismal atmosphere that every single one of us had felt sometime as a kid, going to school, feeling like the week will never end and that these teachers only live to boss us around. All of this can just be communicated by the imagery alone. And I haven't even started with the animation. The style feels like it was ripped straight out of the Pilkey books, giving the viewers an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and/or childlike wonder. Not to mention the little animation changes that pop up throughout the film. Name any other animated film that uses 3D animation, 2D comic book animation, pop up book style graphics, a Getty Stock images tiger, and an entire sequence made of SOCK PUPPETS. These constant fourth wall breaks are super funny and charming, while also adding to the feeling we all had as a kid when we wanted to rule the world and make everything as colorful and fun as possible. Of course, this film is littered with potty humor. But instead of being the kind of humor that's at the expense of a well-written intelligent joke, the potty humor feels right at home, as this movie tries to do nothing more than appeal to the one audience it was made for: people who want to feel like a kid, people who want to LAUGH I could go on and on about more aspects of this film that make it an underrated treasure, from the voice acting to the rest of the characters to the soundtrack, but it would be too much for a single UA-cam comment. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading! We must share a common interest, my friend! And if you haven't seen it... GET ON THAT! So yeah. Captain Underpants is my ultimate comfort movie and one of my favorite animated movies in the past decade. What are you gonna do to change my mind :)
FREAKING THANK YOU. I don't understand why people didnt like this film. It is more well made then 90% of Illumination films which are known for using that type of humor, the animation is the best DreamWorks has ever had, and the story is touching. The fact that people put this in the same category as films like Cars 2 blows my mind. I'm so happy that you are giving this film the respect that it deserves. (Btw Angry Birds 2 and Sing are in this same category, as Sing is many steps above normal Illumination)
I'm gonna get lynched for this. I like Joseph, some of the moments are great, the marketplace music is so awesome and powerful and haunting, and I STILL go back and listen to You Know Better than I ALL the time... I also hate Shrek. I just don't like irreverent humor. I'm a person who doesn't feel with a lot of different types of humor, so anytime DreamWorks tried to do comedies that were ONLY comedies, I didn't like it. I think they do epic adventure WITH comedy much better.
I do agree Joseph is a pretty good movie. It’s nowhere near Prince of Egypt, but it’s still pretty decent. Maybe I’m just easy to please when it comes to animated movies, but I’ll willing watch Joseph: King of Dreams
I’m kind of the same with Joseph: King of Dreams. Not as good as Prince of Egypt, but it was a decent movie. For me I would have put it either in low C tier, or high/middle D tier.
Yayyyy! My comment was featured in the Pixar video (The name is different cause that was my old account) Very happy to see you are still doing tier lists I love them!
This guy is giving the coldest takes I’ve ever seen in a dreamworks ranking but I love that he’s just keeping it simple. “I liked this movie. I *didnt* like this movie. I like this movie more than the other one.” He’s just happy to be here, I hope he has a good day.
Yes Brian! Yes! Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you! I love Prince of Egypt! Love it love it love it! And the soundtrack is a masterpiece! I still love it, to this day! And Shrek, I adore it, but I think A Tier is the place for it. I agree with you there. I love your tier list videos! Keep this segment going! I love it!
You’re still in the same era!!!!!!! You haven’t even gotten to the 2010 decade yet what are you talking about by”so now we get into this era of Dream Works here”because you are still the F🪿same eraaa!!!!!!
Also could you do a tier list of musicals that you have seen. I know there are a lot of musicals out there, so I think it would be best to just narrow it down to ones you have seen
@@lindseysteel5534 Fair point. But if you do a Disney Broadway Tierlist, please include the musical version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It is ten times better than the movie. And I adore the movie!
I perfer Spirit over Shrek. Beautifully drawn, the animals don't talk, the music is great and not what's popular. Shrek is boring. Now Shrek 2 is awesome
I'm not a Christian person but I love Prince of Egypt and Joseph and the king of dreams movies! I'm surprised at you Brian for putting Joseph at the bottom of your list! Considering that you are a Christian I would have thought you loved both of those movies and put them at the top of the list not Moses at the top and Joseph at the bottom surprisingly enough. I love Sprit the original movie not the new version that Netflix has out I hate how they changed him so much! And some of the other movies on there I either I love or hate!
I'm anti theist she it comes to Abrahamic Religion and despise the religions. Prince of Egypt however is a work of art, phenomenal animation, great songs with the exception of Big Boys Now so amazing soundtrack,. Joshua was awful especially compared to Prince of Egypt and the other movies. Just because its a religious movie and he is Christian doesn't mean he has to like that movie. That is being irrational He is basing his list on the the quality of animation, story, chapters, songs etc. Joshua deserves to be at the bottom. Its like companion the 2 Spirit movies the original Spirit is one of the best Dreamworks films while its sequel is one of the worst
I guess I’m weird, which I’m ok with that, but I kind of liked “Joseph King of Dreams”. Prince of Egypt was definitely better than that movie, but I thought it was good.
a ranking tier ideas; 1) tier of animated character u like to voice act 2) tier of video games 3) tier of favorite characters to meet/greet at parks Keep up the great work Brian :D hugs
My favourites are: 1. M.r peabody and sherman 2. Trolls 3. How to train your dragon 4. Trolls world tour 5. Boss baby family business 6. How to train your dragon the hidden world Honorable mentions: How to train your dragon 2, Prince of Egypt, The croods a new age, Puss in boots, Shrek 1&2 ,And The Penguins of Madagascar
I have SO much respect for this tier list. Since opinions are subjective, I'd obviously make some minor adjustments (Megamind goes up a tier, Sinbad goes down, Joseph wasn't THAT bad, I weirdly really loved Trolls, and do I need to go rewatch Kung Fu Panda 3 finally?) but overall, I agreed with pretty much all your choices, and even the ones I didn't agree with weren't, like, several tiers off. Also, mood about Trollhunters being great, 3Below being ...okay, and Wizards being better than 3Below. That is word for word how I would have described them to anyone that asked. Sad to hear the movie was a disappointment, I haven't gotten around to watching it yet :( Thanks for a great video with a tier list that at no point made me angry!
Great video and rankings. I think my favorite Dreamworks movies are Puss in Boots, Trolls, the Madagascar series (NOT counting the Pengiuns movie), and the How to Train Your Dragon series (I havent seen the third movie yet, though). I havent seen the second Trolls movie yet either. Please do a VeggieTales tier list at some point. I love the movies and songs and I'd love to see your rankings and opinions on it/them.
Thanks for giving Trolls the respect it deserves. In my opinion those movies are overhated and I think they are both C tier at worst (I havent seen 3 yet)
Shrek, and Shrek 2 are my favorite DreamWorks movies, and movies of all time. So I'd actually put them both in S Tier, but with the sequel being above the first one of course. 💚🐴😼😌 Also like you said about us not having to agree with you on which movies you dislike. I personally enjoy Cars 2, which you don't have to like it, but I do.
Oh you don't know how happy it makes me to see you put Spirit in S right next to Prince of Egypt. Also I just have to give it to Dreamworks, they do sequels better than Disney. And its usually always for their "comedy" movies. Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar. I mean even then, those silly funny movies have a surprising amount of heart. I think thats why everyone loves them. Unfortunately they also have a trend of a 3rd movie being not so great.
Don’t kill me comments section. I’ve never seen Shrek 2. I haven’t seen Shrek since I was like 4. The only Shrek property in my recent memory is the musical. The fricking MUSICAL!!!! Again, please don’t kill me.
Could you do all the Marvel MCU movies Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, etc.
Agreed.
YES PLEASE
Yeah i was just thinking of that
Yes please! I've been saying that since the Pixar tier list!
Agreed!!
Iron man - Shang Chi + the Disney + shows
The Prince of Egypt’s always gonna be #1 for me, it’s astounding.
The Prince of Egypt was better than Joseph: King of Dreams
By a long shot

I can agree to this. I don't understand why it's in F.
Agreed
Agreed, I loved Joseph king of dreams! Possibly not A tier bit maybe A or B for me tbh
Loved Joseph and Prince of Egypt
I loved that movie it's one of the best versions of the story and also it's massively underrated
Love your list.
For me personally, I like Rise of the Gaurdians in A tier, even though I know there's issues. Wish a sequel was made.
oh what were the issues
@@johannahbagaoisan9872 Huh, really I only have two issues with it: the credits song doesn't fit the movie's tone at all, and Chris Pine is a weird choice to voice a teenager. Aside from those, I can't think of anything else.
@@andrewdowns3673 ohhh yea those make sense i nvr thought about those whilst watching d movie
Or a show. Imagine all the heroes and villains you could make. I would love to see a villain who can control metal or lava, that would be impressive :D

jk, I don't know if they'd end up as a couple, but it'd be interesting.

Oh my god i love it so much
Say it louder! It's my favorite movie of all time, not just animated. Literally the perfect film.
My favorite is Home! Best movie ever! I recommend it, it's on Netflix
@@funtime_loves_togame5378 I hate that movie with all my heart and soul.
But i'm glad you like it
Me too, I love Dragons!
They were all great. So far I love the Trolls films (Up there with Shrek, Dragons, and Kung Fu Panda)
😃 Daniel! It's so great to see you here.
Yeah, and after the animated series gave them a personality and they just throw it all away
Yeah the hidden world is definitely the weakest in terms of the films
6:55 Correction: It was Matt Damon that narrated. And I 100% agree that Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is above Shrek! My favorite DreamWorks movie of all time!
I HAAAAATE Matt Damon in that movie. He's a very talented actor, but when voice acting he reads lines with zero inflection and it's BORING! Luckily, he doesn't narrate/exposit that often, so I can pretend Spirit has a personality when he's not talking. It's such a good movie otherwise.
That’s absolutely correct. It’s not Mark Wahlberg LOL
@@micahwright5901 This is true
Prince of Egypt is one of my favorites. I would watch it probably 3-4 times a week when I was a kid. The animation is just beautiful, the voice actors killed it, and the soundtrack is bangin’!
Didn't like much of the cast/voice acting in it.
Finally! Someone who truly believes KFP3 is criminally underrated! 🐼🥋🍜
Omg ikr
KFP3 was an awesome movie.
Kung fu panda is the best dreamworks movie
Right, mostly everyone hated that film because of the back story of the villain Kai. Sure that was the worse thing in the film but still the film hits hard.
He said KFP3 is his favourite KFP so I don’t know what you are on about
"Legend tells of a legendary impressionist!
OMG spirit is so underrated like I wish other people watch it because it's beautiful and outstanding.
@@WlfBorn matt daemon sucked and the songs arent great but other than that its perfect
@@rubub8455 First, it's Damon. Spell it right. Second, the songs are amazing. It's Bryan Adams for crying out loud!
Same here
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron will always hold a special place in my heart
I prefer Spirit Untamed because it's a very funny movie compared to Stallion of the Cimarron, it's Great for movie night!
You should rank the Veggietales next! I grew up watching those and have very fond memories of them and I would be interested to see what your thoughts are about them!
I agree. Veggietales!
Dragons: Race to the Edge is actually like my favorite part of the How to Train your Dragon world, even though it is a show
Yeah, this along with Riders and Defenders of Berk were phenomenal with character development, which is where the film's sometimes fell short with the other riders.
I'm not gonna lie: as a kid, I thought Flushed Away was entirely done through claymation, and I didn't even know it was CG until I was in high school

When they were working on Antz,
John Lasseter, the former chief creative officer of Pixar, accused Katzenberg of stealing his idea for A Bug’s Life, thus sparking a feud. 🤯🤯🤯
Jeez dreamworks become a famous movie production after that.
Sparking* but thanks for the fact
@@MEME-AVENGERS_OFFICAL Shoot! And thank you for correcting me.

The Prince of Egypt can kind of be considered being made out of revenge too in that Katzenberg repeatedly proposed doing something like it and it was rejected until he left.

Someone put it in words!!! Thank you!!!
I have to agree
You know what, I never thought about how I feel about it, but this is actually really true.

Me and my siblings GREW UP on Spirit, Chicken Run, Over the Hedge, and Shark Tale! They were all movies we could agree to watch

How To Train Your Dragon: S Tier!

How To Train Your Dragon 3: A Tier.

And, in my sixth-grade-being-cool mindset, I went "whatever."
But I went to see it anyway and HOLY COW.
But instead of being the kind of humor that's at the expense of a well-written intelligent joke, the potty humor feels right at home, as this movie tries to do nothing more than appeal to the one audience it was made for: people who want to feel like a kid, people who want to LAUGH
I could go on and on about more aspects of this film that make it an underrated treasure, from the voice acting to the rest of the characters to the soundtrack, but it would be too much for a single UA-cam comment.
@@madelinestraumanis219 Yeah
I liked the song Marketplace. It's reminds me of the Plagues song. The choir.
Ima join the Joseph bandwagon, though I like "More than you take" better :3
Yayyyy! My comment was featured in the Pixar video (The name is different cause that was my old account)
Very happy to see you are still doing tier lists I love them!

I second that.
I 3rd that! Maybe Disney Broadway musicals? There are several of them and they are all fantastic.
@@lindseysteel5534 Fair point. But if you do a Disney Broadway Tierlist, please include the musical version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It is ten times better than the movie. And I adore the movie!
I agree with you about Shrek 2 Brian. I like it best out of all the Shrek movies. Puss in Boots is just great!
Seeing Spirit get so much love makes me happy!! 😊
So glad you approve of Spirit! I LOVE that movie!!!!
Brian puts spirit above shrek,
Me: so you have chosen death
Okay he redeemed himself by putting shrek 2 above spirit
I perfer Spirit over Shrek. Beautifully drawn, the animals don't talk, the music is great and not what's popular.
Shrek is boring.
Now Shrek 2 is awesome
@@straywolf6669 yes I agree
HTDD BEST ANIMATED movie trilogy ever created. Also yea KFP 3 was definately best of them i loved Kai as a villain.
I’m doing this dreamworks marathon and my god I’m exhausted and I’ve only made it to Sinbad 😂😂😂
Very good video
Flushed Away is one of my favorite movies of all times!!! I think it's so good!
I guess I’m weird, which I’m ok with that, but I kind of liked “Joseph King of Dreams”. Prince of Egypt was definitely better than that movie, but I thought it was good.
a ranking tier ideas;
1) tier of animated character u like to voice act
2) tier of video games
3) tier of favorite characters to meet/greet at parks
Keep up the great work Brian :D hugs
i love tier list videos!
My favourites are:
1. M.r peabody and sherman
2. Trolls
3. How to train your dragon
4. Trolls world tour
5. Boss baby family business
6. How to train your dragon the hidden world
Honorable mentions: How to train your dragon 2,
Prince of Egypt, The croods a new age, Puss in boots,
Shrek 1&2 ,And The Penguins of Madagascar
Why trolls
I love your videos! I learned how to do bugs and daffys impression so thank you for that! Keep on doing what your doing :3
I agree with all of your rankings except Joseph King of Dreams
Yeah I do think Joseph King Of Dreams is kinda alright
I love when you do these types of videos.
I thought most people placed Shrek 2 above the original. They just improved the formula in my opinion.
As a fellow kid in church, I Give you the following: Superbook, Psalty, McGee and Me, and The Greatest Adventure…. You’re welcome 😇 lol
Oh my gosh... the *intensity* of the flashbacks you just gave me! 😂🥰
I agree with S&A. It's funny seeing the reactions adults make when watching The Road to El Dorado. We missed so much in our younger days
Shrek, and Shrek 2 are my favorite DreamWorks movies, and movies of all time. So I'd actually put them both in S Tier, but with the sequel being above the first one of course. 💚🐴😼😌
Also like you said about us not having to agree with you on which movies you dislike. I personally enjoy Cars 2, which you don't have to like it, but I do.
Even Shrek and Shrek 2 are my first and second favorite DreamWorks movies. But I do like the first film better.
I liked Joseph king of dreams
Boss baby is a cinematic masterpiece put some respect on its name
Don’t kill me comments section. I’ve never seen Shrek 2. I haven’t seen Shrek since I was like 4. The only Shrek property in my recent memory is the musical. The fricking MUSICAL!!!! Again, please don’t kill me.
I want to see an updated list with Pus In Boots The Last Wish, because it is number one DreamWorks Movie for me right now.
