Good for Trailing? Axial SCX10iii Base Camp Tested on the Trail!

- I have been doing a lot with the brand new Axial SCX10iii Base Camp - but it is time to get it out in the wild!
I took the truck to Long Hunter State Park here in TN to see how it handles a longer trail drive and the rocks that are offered there at the park.
Overall, the truck is really doing well - but clearly has a few more things for improvement on it.

I think this is a good all around truck I've tested many surfaces and terrain and it does good in all conditions nice run
Thanks!
I still want to do more to it though.
That rear bumper is really hanging up on things - and now if I catch it in reverse - it starts to bend down. No good.
I'm a big fan of overdrive, so want to throw that and some weight at the front axle also.
I'd say it passed the trail test with flying colors. That's a beautiful state you live in Troy! Great video as always. Many thanks.👍👍
You are right Rick! Doing well so far - just imagine how much better we can get it with some more modifications!
Nice off-road run and excellent RC 👍👍
Thanks!
Great job on the video. 👍 Thanks for sharing your experience. Tires and wheels looks great on the truck. ✌
Thanks! I like them also!
Definitely looked like it performed a little better, yes I agree that a 1080 would help it fly under the radar 👍🏼
It needs it. WOW it is loud!
Looks like with all the FREE mods. You've got yourself a very capable rig. Great Work Brother
YES! It is really starting to come together.
MUCH more planned though. Need to get it down low - improve that center of gravity, and I like to try some overdrive and adding a little weight to the front axle.
I thought it did pretty great actually. It tackled a couple spots there that I didn't think it would make.
It really is pretty good!
What a great place to have to go crawling and trailing. Awesome.
The truck didn't sound too loud, but I know what you mean. I didn't think my TRX4 was noisy, but compared to my new (to me) belt drive Carisma Sca1e Coyote, it sounds like a bag of spanners!!! That's running a Holmes Hobby Crawlmaster Sport motor and a Hobbywing 1080. I might try to change the settings, as you mentioned. Cheers. 👍🏻
Yes! I found the PWM setting on the Hobbywing 1080 had the opportunity to quiet a motor down. Not 100%, but helped some.
@@RoadsideRC how much did you change the setting?
I went as high as it would go.
@@RoadsideRC thank you. 👍🏻
Cool RC and great crawling adventure
Thanks!
Very enjoyable video. Beautiful area you live in. I saw the BF Goodrich Baha tires, but can I ask what wheels you're running? They look nice and I'm about
to upgrade mine from stock today down at my local shop here in Florida. Thank you!!
Hello!
These are the wheels I am using:

What wheels are those? Looks great.
These: ua-cam.com/video/-r-Jg1iy0J8/v-deo.html
looked good on those climbs on the trail no doubt you have upgrades in mind
*leaving a like👍Au👍full watch*
You know me! Thanks Billy!
sweet video this truck has a really cool body style and the metallic rims complete it they are very nice, reminds me of the ones on the bomber haha, any hints on its next upgrade video yet?
More to come!
I am throwing EVERYTHING at this truck!
I have a canyon trail tires with some beadlock wheels on my new base camp and when i turn to the right, the back of the wheels rub on the spring of the shock. Does yours do that with your wheels that u have on this video?
Idk why, its weird. I will have to buy hub extenders i guess to fix that problem.
It is just all about the geometry there. It is a fairly common thing when you are trying to max steering angle - something will always hit!
You nailed it - some hub extenders will do the trick. On this truck, I ran these: amzn.to/48RzMGZ
@@RoadsideRC ohh i see, okay i get it. Thank you! Will put an order in :)
What parts of middle Tennessee do you actually go for trail ride I'm out of that Myself and I can't quite fight anywhere that's actually like wooded Other than the state park overturned Lebanon
Oh man! There are so many places in mid-TN! We live in crawler paradise!
Like you said, most state parks are good if you are respectful.
Have you been to Big Buddhas RC Ranch, Farrow RC Field Days, or Chickasaw Trace RC Crawler track?
Hello from France
It s better than a trx4 sport?
No, I do not think it is better than the TRX-4 Sport.
Are those ProLine tires?
Yes they are!
I recently did a full tire test video and they came out very well.
😎😎👍👍
Thanks!
Wish the body looked more real👊🏻👍🏻
Yeah, it is OK. I promise, better in person than folks make it out to be. You get used to it real fast.
I have plans to really cut it up and make it look worse. :)
