I don’t agree on that, this video talks about 30-40s . We have family kids and job … if we spending 10hours in job and 8 hour in sleep .. 6 hours left … that is just enough for family and taking care of self health… where laziness comes in thi busy schedule

Perfectly said add on to that, never sit with a comfort zone that also gives you a hard time, moreover love your job not company.. between 30 to 40years is very important phase to any one who is working in a corporate field..

@@CareerTalk I'm 39 and working as FE developer but I'm sick of this corporate culture where I have to come out of project every 3 months to attend internal/client round of interview to get into another Project. This repeats every 2 to 3 months.
No saving nothing, no own house.
Now my questiont to you is, what do you suggest to grow to next level. I see managing teams as technical/program manage is the only scope to escape these interviews but unless some manager give a promotion to you to become a sub-group manager it's not possible. Please share your though on this, whether it's good to stay in service company or product company.
And how you are generating second streams of income now? And also create a video about savings, investments and other information (we can find so many video but I would like to see a video from a technical perspective ) who works in IT

Days have changed, during 2005-14, i have seen genuinely good guys in technology becoming complacent with just 5 years technical background to become a program manager, delivery manager etc. They said they have learnt enough of technology and now would suggest USA, Japan, Europe what the technology would look like in next 50 years. Cut to 2023, now guys with 20 years experience need to be billable in customer projects or they get kicked out. No more posing as guru or managing 4000 freshers would help. Another disaster for the technical guys were to get too much obsessed with domain knowledge, like getting Insurance domain, Retail domain certification deviating from core technology. The moment insurance specialist get shifted to say Burger King project, the entire domain knowledge goes to drain

A side income is always good . Apart from my job I started creating udemy courses last year but didn't got any paid enrollments. We all lack patience, results always take time. I started creating more useful courses without thinking about income and after 8 months i have 3 paid courses published on udemy and reached 200$ till now. 200$ are not much but as a side hustle i think so that's a good start and also i give offline tutions too for kids in my colony. Once can start anytime sooner the best

5th mistake. After 40s we need to take the spiritual path. We are here for max 20 to 40 more years. Realise this fact. Take care of your health. We need to realise that we will not achieve much in remaining time. And even if we achieve death is going to take away everything. So be thankful for coming this far in life with such a good intelligence that you produced and watched this video. Which means you can realise what went wrong even when you never planned for it. Use 2nd order thinking and extrapolate what could happen in next 10 or 20 years. Excellent advice to all fellow travellers in life. Thank you.

    Mistakes in 30s and 40s
    1. Not creating a separate income stream
    2. Not finding a mentor or a accountability partner
    3. Not considering deligate/outsource/automate work
    4. Failure to take action when needed

Not everyone is financial savvy in doing the right investments or have the entrepreneurial skills to start generating a second income, or even if they do all might not succeed.
With my 16 years of experience, even im a bit confused. I know I'm not smart, but personally I feel it is good to invest in building your skills and expertise and not mention focusing on your health care, both are really important to have a sustainable future in your life.

When you're young, it's a wise choice to save as much money as possible. Additionally, it's worth considering avenues for secondary income. In my personal opinion, not everyone can become a CEO or manager, so there's no need to be concerned about others. Instead, stay focused on your job and your work.
I'm currently 44 years old and in a technical lead role at my company. While I can't control the longevity of my career, I believe I'm doing a good job. The period between 40 and 50 is a critical stage in life, and it's essential to think about how you'll spend your life after 50.
In my case, I'm planning to move to my village. I purchased agricultural land and built a small house without taking any home loans. For the past three years, my family has been in the village, where we've been able to reduce our expenses significantly. Now, I'm relocating to Chennai for my kid's education.

The point number 1: Second income stream is the thing I want tell something about. You can take that as secondary interest other than job. For example I was facing some ups and downs in 2009 year. I had brought "Vedic Mathematics" book as a side interest. I did not pay much attention to that at that time. Now that in 2023 after layoff I feel I should have paid some interest to Vedic Maths so that by now I could have at least taught some people. Anyways I have taken interest now.

The companies I worked for never cared about advising me on the next level. While others in these companies had mentors and climbed the ladder, I was not one of them. I am not into the politics etc. and there was nobody who could have been my mentor or had the best interest at heart. They are all for themselves, the boss and colleagues. I invested in my own training and courses to be the best employee for my employer but so far, I have not gotten the ROI. I now left the corporate world and hope to never have to go back!

Main thing is that you dont do work you told to do rather you do a job what you love to do.. money matters but happiness is more important. Mostly 99 percent people dont know what their inner soul wants to do but they just do jobs seeing others and imaging themself to become similar to others..
Same thing happened with me When I got VRS from Govt job at the age 46 and then decided to do job that should bring my interest and it may be irrelevant of my career. And when I got it after 2 years pause I am really happy to do that job even in Half of my salary what I previously getting!

Absolutely Prithwiraj, it is not at all easy to reflect. But once we do, it makes a lot of things simpler.

    Enlightening message !!
Sir a lot of times i have heard that it's better to be a master of 1 particular skill or task rather than ordinary at many things -as per the saying goes "Jack of all trades but master of None "so my question was will it be beneficial to work in a small company as a specialist or in a large company as generalist ? In terms of making more money at faster rate bcoz the problem is there is a fixed growth in top companies in a normal routine. So how to break the chain & rules to achieve exceptional growth without getting stuck in age old career ladder corporate system that offers not much to the employees but works for the owners very well..

Sir, doing pmp and becoming manager and sr manager is not bad. You can get similar jobs in other companies also for decent packages, if not higher. Im not sure what is the mistake here. I know many people are at this level all life and say they are good with that level and salary and pressure of the role
