(not spoilers cuz its part of the video) 1:07:30 I absolutely love this part. Right after you become confused as to why someone you've never seen know who Mario & Luigi are (let alone be scared by them), you walk two feet south and you see the flags and they IMMEDIATELY answer your question. This is the type of environmental storytelling I love in these parts.
Legit really love that Bowser cutscene. The animation is incredible, the fact that Mario was the only one who did not look fazed AT ALL when he threatened them, and both the bros sacrificing themselves for their friends... This game adds a lot of personality to these characters.
Absolutely wild that the character incapable of saying anyone's names correctly is more capable of saying specifically Bowser's name than 99% of people that currently make Mario Maker levels
to be fair, bowser has a huge army, weapons, giant airships, and managed to build an entire new fleet in "a few weeks" considering zokket's estimation of time also bowser directly attacked the base instead of going around connecting stuff.
18:14 notice how scarily close to connie they are owo, mario and luigi could def take on 6, but if they try to do so the zokket troopers could easily react and hurt connie in the current position
13:12 Yeah, I really appreciate that Paper Jam got rid of the turn limits. If I want to make the boss refights a brutal endurance test, I should be allowed to do that.
About your point on anti glohm specialist making luigi logic worthless: the plug only works on jump and hammer attack whereas the luigi logic also works on bros attacks.
Oh hey, you started the best part of the game! Okay, the rest was good too, but it just gets better and better! Love the boss rematches in this game too, though being able to repeat them would have been just perfect. Interestingly, the rematched bosses technically have some of the highest speed stats in the entire game, to the point even a level 80+ player likely wouldn't go first. So you're always put on the defensive to start off with, no matter when you tackle them.
18:06 In spanish they say "If you try something, you won't like what happens to your friend ('amiga', referring Connie)", which... makes the scene make more sense
I also did it VERY under leveled, one of my highlights because it was actually difficult(for me) mostly because I just couldn’t get used to the attack pattern
Let me share my opinion on the level scale on this game as someone who already beat it: Since this game is not meant to be a hard rpg, I think the level scale of enemies was done mostly right, in the way that enemies Attack increase more than HP and Defense. Meaning if you fail to dodge/counter you tend to be punished more than if you fail an attack. I know this may not be the ideal way to everyone, but for what it is, I feel like it was handle well enough
What a great send-off, for a sea that I'm not particularly fond of. I think Bulbfish Island can be really tedious, on repeat playthrous. Heatfreeze island is probably my favorite, from the 3rd sea. Skorchen island is pretty good, and with Slippenglide, actually gets a pretty significant difficulty spike (wich i like). And Slippenglide itself, i don't really like. The Spikes make it really tedious to go through, because their attacks take so long. Story wise, i think this Sea is where it starts going. People are getting glohmed, bowser's Minions get introduced, and with that the game kind of has more of its own identity and a different wibe than before. Also an something that they introduced in this sea, were caves. I like the caves gameplay wise, but i just don't think the music really fits. It worked for Bulbfish, but not for the other islands. I don't really like comparing the soundtrack, but it just kind of hurts me, because the cave theme in dream team, is like, in my top 10 M&L soundracks. Other than that all Heatfreeze, Scorchen and Slippenglide island have all great soundtracks. The wedding was also a very fun and cute story beat. Fits perfectly with the entire theme of the game. The lighthouse is the best in the game, though. Pipegunk is also very fun. My personal least favorite sea, but still really good. Edit: i somehow forgot my biggest problem with the sea. There were no mini bosses. Sure you had some cool fights like, the hammer, fire and Icebros, but no real bosses. I feel like in Heatfreeze would have been a really good spot, but unfortunately we didn't get that. Best case scenario would still have been 2-3 mini bosses per sea
[NOT SPOILER] Judging by the amount of empty space next to the battle plug spots you've already obtained, it looks like you'll have a max of 5 by the end of the game which is insane because there's so many plug combinations you can already make with the slots and plugs you already have but having two more slots alongside the more badges you'll craft as you play through the game is even more crazy. It's like the badges from M&L Bowser's Inside Story & Dream Team but on steroids.
I am ashamed to say I never figured out how to get critical hits on the goo boss. I kept wanting to go back to the plain area because I was afraid it'd heal itself back up if I dragged it to a special area. As you can imagine, this made for a completely insufferable experience in the refight.
Glohm enemies as you noticed attack much faster than normal, which they can sometimes throw off your timing. Glohm status in general is such a handicap unless you're really good at dodging or counterattack to avoid that from it happening. Also why is Bowser Jr. talking like TCNick3 from the Party Crashers using words like ugly, smelly & bozo
My shirt from this episode is in the wash right now so I recoloured an old thumbnail shot really well instead. But you can barely tell, right?!
Genuinely cannot tell where this video’s original shot is from. My best guess is M&L Episode 3 or Western Land online.
Edit: It's Western Land
(not spoilers cuz its part of the video)

Absolutely! They did a fantastic job!

I really like how Shun seems quite talkative now that he got the opportunity to talk, and I really like his involvement in the Pipegunk fight.
He made for the most fun Luigi logic in the whole game honestly.
35:07 Maykit is not the name I would choose to scream out while rolling around with Luigi, but you do you

A really nice touch is that the enemies in the Great Lighthouses are scaled up so you can grind before the rematches
honestly the bowser cutscene is hands down a favorite they really did an excellent job showing the fight
Beating the chlorophyll out of Glohm Gobblick while grossly underleveled is my favorite part of any playthrough. I love being stubborn.
13:12 Yeah, I really appreciate that Paper Jam got rid of the turn limits. If I want to make the boss refights a brutal endurance test, I should be allowed to do that.
Unironically, i still get goosebumps at that cutsene
i love the explosion group so much theyre so funny
About your point on anti glohm specialist making luigi logic worthless: the plug only works on jump and hammer attack whereas the luigi logic also works on bros attacks.
Oooh thanks
Also im pretty sure the luigi logic damage counts as dealing valid damage for the specialist plugs
They made the X bosses canon in the actual game, and relevant.
27:42 only makes jump and hammer critical hits
Oh hey, you started the best part of the game! Okay, the rest was good too, but it just gets better and better!

Oh I gotcha, everyone's had the same experience with that boss, I thought I was the only one to head into that fight SEVERELY underlevelled
38:23 Christopher Michael "Chris" Pratt in "The Super Mario Bros. Movie | Official Teaser Trailer":
no joke i looked up ur channel as u were uploading this
18:16 maybe since connie is with you, Mario and Luigi dont want to start a fighht and risk her getting hurt
18:06 In spanish they say "If you try something, you won't like what happens to your friend ('amiga', referring Connie)", which... makes the scene make more sense

I should mention that the enemies in the lighthouse do get glohmed when the boss does, and the Glohm Spikelys do drop ampberries.
The coin amount the bros are wanted for is actually a secret message in Japanese that’s basically bowser is so cool or something like that
1:12:33 I...don't think that's Buddy. Unless it's Buddy in disguise, I guess.

A little tip when your refighting the second boss use the coin plug before doing the luigi logic
I think I might have actually ended up doing that? I don't remember but I have some sort of memory of a strong reaction at the Luigi logic section.

Pipegunk was so cool.
You actually can Jump Helmet enemies even when they have spikes or fire.
i didnt know thats what was wanted for the pipegunk boss, so i switched him to the normal area meaning i made him harder than he needed to be

Yaaaaaaay Mayro another video of brother bros! 😁 😃🤩😍😀

56:53 you'd love to fight Shun 1 on 1? Do you mean as Mario or as Luigi?
I'll take him irl
Think they kinda over exaggerated the level requirement cause when I got to the recommended level, it was a cakewalk basically
and we are so back
i did thid aswell. it took me 3 hours. i was going insane. IT WAS WORTH IT THO I LOVE IT WHEN GAMES HAVE BOSS REMATCHES
1:07:11 it's pronounced "off-and-on"
