Never thought I'd relate to this song so much but I'm really feeling this right now. I'm finding over time I'm able to relate to more songs I've known for years. Experience makes you FEEL the songs rather than just listening to them.
It's a tribute to their Japanese fans. In 2003, their manager forced them cancel and show up late to a few concerts in Japan. Lena and Julia felt terrible about it, therefore making "Gomenasai" a tribute and apology for being so rude to their fans even though it wasn't their fault. So yeah =) And just because they're Russian doesn't mean they can't sing in other languages. One of them is singing in Russian, English, AND Spanish. That takes talent ;D
I love the ending part. 3:00 It's like someone putting up a tough front "I never needed a friend!" then when they're alone (ie: their friend leaves them) they reveal their vulnerability "... like I do now..." It's so sad...

Listening to this song reminds me back in 2019 when a friend of mine who I had known since high school called me up after I got off work and told me he didn’t want to hang out with me anymore. He was holding a grudge against me for a year, I just wish he had been more willing to talk things out instead of breaking up the friendship, I found new friends after having ended my friendship with him but I was sad when it happened.
She might be mistaking gomen'nasai for sumimasen. Both are used for "I'm sorry." but sumimasen can be used for excuse me and I think gomen'nasai is only used for "I'm sorry.". (Sources: I've been learning Japanese for a while now.)
