Great advice on the variety of offerings in this regard. Awesome to know there are places that let you take the items in and really try the kit out before the purchase

I've gone almost totally Ultimate Direction.
In practical use, it has shown to work better than my Salomon gear.
Biggest problem is getting it !
Not living in US, its often difficult getting specific products.
As prof as they are with the equipment, as amateurish they tend to be when selling to no-US athletes.
When writing to them about something or rewieving a product, they never reach back !
    Total silence !
But the best gear for me...

When running with my pack and bladder I have the problem on longer runs that I run out of water in my bladder what is the best way to top up water supplies on the go and be safe on the go without stopping at a shop when in the wilderness such as peak district or lake district ?

I got a Sawyer mini water filter for this exact scenario. I often go out in the peaks now with just 500ml of water and the filter to top up from streams. Having said that sometimes you just don't come across a stream when you need it...
