"When is war not a war. When it is fought by methods of barbarism". Henry Campbell Bannerman, leader of opposition (Liberal Party) is his address to the British parliament in June 1901 on the behaviour of British soldiers and officers during the Anglo Boer war.
Execellent! I've been hunting for Boer War films for ages, finally! Wonder what happened to all those Lee Metford's , Martini Henry's and bandoliers etc. used during filming?
Lance Weyrich - He was a pacifist when it suited him. Read his South African writings if you want to appreciate just what a disgraceful opportunist the man really was. In SA his main concern was making sure that the Indians kept their whip hand over the "Natives". To this end he supported segregation and British rule (As long as the British were willing to accept Indians as Number Two). I really suggest that you read about his time in SA for yourself. I must say that the man had (or was) a good PR agent.
Baie dankie, ek het die film geniet.
