Not sure if you were there when I was I was there 2000 I was in sue Matthew's team with beany and careem we went on a conservation trip to lundy island rebuilding the only road on the island awesome stay blessed bro
Lovely to see. How it's changed since I was there as a school boy. The "Pleasurery" has been thinned completely, I hope they've kept some of the Rhododendrons & Azaleas. They were huge and ancient.
Does anyone know when new owner Jamie Ritblat expects to have the restoration completed? I understand he purchased the house & 800 of the 4,500 acres. Can't wait to see this WONDERFUL home restored!
Looks like they're finally doing work to restore the old home. It should be deemed a National Treasure, if it hasn't been already. I'm glad work has begun.
that back area is probably the 8 tonnes of chippings we laid in 99. The gardens at the side were designed by Capability brown. We used to tend to them. I see they removed the orangery. Metal structure that had all its windows blown out during the was when an ammunition dump at the bottom of the drive was blown up by a bomber
I lived there in 98 to 2000. Fantastic place. Steeped in history and it'll all be gone. Life moves on. Some amazing memories exploring that place.

I went to have a look a couple of months ago. Very polite and helpful Gurka security. But no entry.

Nice to see the pool still there. That thing stank. Dead animals and rotting vegetation. We had canoe training in the pool :)
