Youre missing out with Pac. Biggie had flow. Em has lyrics. Pac had passion. Pac was a social activist that just happened to be a generationally talented rapper. He lived the life of a thug and shared his point of view through his music. He wanted people to rise above the streets and better their lives. He was raw, brash, and unapologetic about it. He was unfiltered honesty. He just happened to have some bitches and beefs along the way that he was candid about too. Listen yourself and decide what you like. I listen to both Biggie and Pac. Both have such incredible stuff. I prefer Pac myself. Dont let your heroes enemies be your enemies...unless its MGK.
@@alexanderhowcroft8779 see tupac was a great rapper. Not a top tier lyricist, but when it come to making people feel what he felt through lyrics i cant decided whether him or em is no.1 for me. And story telling he is easily in the top 5.
I bought Eric B. & Rakim's Paid in Full in 87 when I was 13 at a corner gas station in Milwaukee for like 5 bucks. To this day I still listen to it and a lot of old school rap. Some of those guys are just untouchable to this day.
I love your honesty man! You throw your biases on the table and make it transparent. Because of that, you have space on you to accept facts. Love your reactions man!
to me the reason why Eminem is literally the number 1 is his wordplays and storytelling otherwise it would be pretty much impossible to pick a best MC from the top 5 without being biased by preferences in style
That beef actually kept people from singing 50, including Dre, who didn’t want to take on the problems. Em is the one who stood up for 50 and wanted to sign him regardless.
Around that 3:00 mark, you brought up rappers around the world, and that’s one of my absolute favorite, most admired things about dudes like Tech N9ne, not just focusing on US rappers, he features people from around the world, hell, one of his IG “rap like me” things he does came down to some Iranian kid and another dude from Europe. I heavily appreciate his willingness to put people on simply for his love of music. And that’s coming from a metal head, Tech’s love for music is admirable. I do think rap has become the “everymans” music. As a Texan, seeing lifted duly work trucks driven by some white boy who looks straight off the farm, bumping hard ass rap, while I was in the Navy, deplored to the HoA, the few treks we took on land, seeing and hearing young men from “tribal”(maybe us the wrong word but a village with two generators and a handful of lights, who still carry water to and from rivers) reciting lyrics, and rapping to each other, kids in Germany, Italy, in Sweden, Romania, I do believe rap has become the most widely enjoyed music.
I follow music with a passion that few people have. From Frank Zappa to tool, to Eminem, Stevie ray Vaughn to Die Antwoord. Or sublime or Billy strings, iron horse. Slayer, Primus.....really large variety because of my childhood. I grew up in a crap town just outside branson. Dorky white kid in the sticks, my parents would get me anything i wanted musically. And encouraged me to play bass guitar. If your in the middle of nowhere, sometimes music was our best entertainment.

I admit I'm chuckling that Mr.LBoyd is preaching diversity but he still hasn't listened to a Tupac album... I get it, we don't get around to everything in a timeline others might wish for, but it still made me chuckle.
Your take on diversity in hip hop I think was the best I've heard so far. The black community did start it by taking looped disco breaks and adding the most successful poetry in human history, but you're absolutely right: rap and hip hop have spread to every continent, every country. It transcends not only race and culture but nationality. Rap and hip hop deserve to be recognized as art forms of human heritage.
Nas and Mobb Deep, I grew up on this music, in Bulgaria! My first 3 music CDs, a present for my birthday, by my parents, were Slim Shady LP, NAStradamus and a pirated mixtape from Biggie.... After this I discovered Three 6 and Lil Wayne... Than the stupid auto tune thing came up... Now I'm stuck in the 90s and 00s, as it comes to hip-hop/rap, at least....
Bro! We were spoiled growing up in NY. Its so hard to replace any top 5 rappers with a non NY rapper. I hate that Mos Def, Jada Kiss, Wu-Tang, Big L all get slept on nowadays. So was 9th wonder.
Stillmatic, Lost Tapes, it was Written and God's Son ten times harder than Illmatic people tripping, the nigga grew TF up and got better they just stuck on Nostalgic beats from the Illmatic project that's all. It's not so much of the lyrics cos Nas got better lyrically super better

Pretty much any song that Eminem featured is pure flames. Bang - Conway the Machine, Psychopath Killer - Slughterhouse, Medicine Man - Dr. Dre, Homicide - Logic, That's All She Wrote - T.I., No Favors - Big Sean, Best friend - Yellawolf, Calm Down - Busta Ryhmes, Renegade - Jay Z. There are way more, there's a reason they call Eminem the song stealer, he features your song it's usually not your song anymore.
Man I love your videos, your reactions seems like the most serious and straight to the facts I've seen around, and most important you catch every message from the lyrics and share your toughts. Rap music is lucky to have such a genius as Eminem and it's cool to see these rappers give him the credit that he deserves. Its funny tough, cause my top 5 is Eminem, Notorious B.I.G. , Big L, Big Pun and Nas and I aint from NY😂 But honestly tough, the most Important rapper in history gotta be 2pac, that man was a lil bit over the rest cause he was more than a musician, he was a revolutionary, getting involved into deeper shit than just music fame and being a superstar. It's a shame what happened to BIG and Pac cause they was really good friends before the east vs west coast stupid shit. Lives gone because music and misunderstandings, NY loves LA and LA loves NY, same struggles same problems growing up in that era just different lifestyle and weather...but that's just how I see it, I am nobody to judge history. Hey, keep making these videos man, this stuff is good shit brother. 🔥💯
Hip-Hop as a culture started with many different ethnicities in New York State. Disco, Punk, Metal, Pop, Rock, and Rap all embraced each other. That’s how we got here today. The 4 Elements of Hip-Hop (as you all know): Graffiti, Breakin’, MCing, & DJing.
The small group of GOATS. can't argue any one person as THE number 1 ... handfull of guys Biggie, Pak, Slim, Wayne, Jay, Dre, Cube ect .... They all have and had impact and carved it out to be what it is.
I love that you are open to Hip Hop from other countrys as well. I have seen some of your reactions to German artists. I'm born 1975 and I fell in love with Hip Hop through German rappers in the mid 90s but mostly was listening to a lot of Rock. 1999 was the year I really became a Hip Hop Head. Two artists made that happen. Eminem with his Slim Shady LP and the German Rapper Kool Savas with his debut. I can feel what you said about your hometown NY. Even though Savas lived in Berlin and I'm from Aachen. Savas was born and raised in Aachen and his first label "Put Da Needle To Da Records" was from Aachen. And Em is from D and Germany (Deutschland) has a D on their cars as nationality sign. So I'm from D as well in a way. LOL

MrLboyd sir you need to dive back in cause Relapse is slept on big time. Recovery in MY opinion is one of the greatest hip hop albums period. Then recently Kamikaze, Music to be Murdered By, and Music to be Murdered Side B are all legendary in my opinion. So many crazy bar heavy tracks and all those albums, countless. Plus every feature is better than the last, he washes everyone and anyone he’s on the song with. ✌️❤️
The best Rapper is a matter of taste, rapping style, and what era you lived in. You can't go by album sales. In the beginning, you had to stay up at 2:00 am to listen to rap or go to the neighborhood house or block party. It's just an evolution of rap. I might not like some of the rappers today but it's this generation that chose their favorite group. When rap 1st came out, it was considered a novelty or it wouldn't last.

MrLBoyd it would be super cool to see some 2Pac reaction by you if you haven't heard some of his songs... He was an incredible story teller and amazing rapper❤️
I just found this man like a day or two ago. With all due respect to him, I could listen to him read the phone book and find enjoyment in it. Did this guy go to broadcasting school?
If you’ve never listened to a Tupac album, let’s get the Tupac reactions going!
Tupac probably not the best rapper but he is bigger than rap. For me, the best to hold the mic
I agree
Just react to the entire double album of All Eyez on Me. One of the best double CDs of all time. You can just let both of those play.
I ain't no joke was a great first song for that album.
"push for diversity in Everything" YES Mr. Boyd!
I love your honesty man! You throw your biases on the table and make it transparent. Because of that, you have space on you to accept facts. Love your reactions man!
Those controversial lyrics Big Sean is talking about are from 'No Favors' but you gotta check out Detroit vs Everybody too for sure
to me the reason why Eminem is literally the number 1 is his wordplays and storytelling
otherwise it would be pretty much impossible to pick a best MC from the top 5 without being biased by preferences in style
No Favors and The Adventures Of Moon Man & Slim Shady are definitely 2 tracks you NEED to listen to
Ja Rule was 50's beef, Em just got pulled into it when he signed 50
And then......., Ja ended his own career. (STAY IN SHAQ'S TOILET, JA!!!)
@@MC_kalCM damn right
That beef actually kept people from singing 50, including Dre, who didn’t want to take on the problems. Em is the one who stood up for 50 and wanted to sign him regardless.
No favours is such a dope track, had that on repeat when it came out!
literally most Underrated Reaction channel.
Big Sean's verse on Detroit vs Everybody is one of my favorite rap verses of all time. He hit a grand slam on that
you know MrLboyd is from New York as soon as you hear him say, New York.
You really gotta check out Detroit vs everybody dope track
One of Eminem's best flow imo
Agree
🔥
Yeah, Em spazzed on Sean's No Favors. It's definitely worth checkin out
The person talking to Wayne is kid cudi, the song is “the adventures of moon man and slim shady”
Slim Shady
you've never sat and listened to a pac album? bro you seriously need to. Putting that east/west shit aside he's insane. All Eyez On Me would be a good start bro
He should start with Me Against the World. A lot of NY sounding cuts in there with production from Eazy Mo Be. But All Eyes on Me was my favorite from Pac.
If.you want to start listening to Pac, start with tribe called quest, the early days when he was no one, I am a fan of him at all points if his career but his art when he was young had a pure and honest voice to it, a street artist, before the lifestyle of a rapper set in, his artitsty was magnificent
@@jaymesmean Aall eyes me was pure fire and his best banger period , but his artistic fire is really in his early days, back with a tribe called quest , or his poetry with a rose from concrete
Plus Pac is from NY, that's why his music was so fire later, NY swag with a Dre beat!!!
Dear Mama is a good one.
Everyone has different taste in styles, so I get why some people don’t like Eminem. But no one can knock his lyrical skills.
AMEN OR READ REALLY READ the lyrics even his stupid corny stuff is very meaningful and complicated and he loves comics. He never got to have a REAL childhood. BUT ITS THE BEATS or mood some don’t like BUT LIKE YOU SAID.......LYRICAL GENIUS OR AS HE CALLS IT a savant. But will never be another cause he’s really like 4 or 5 personalities at least in him that has all that in his head plus when he goes back to his OLD notepads napkins etc. just his interview with King Crook REALLY was great and some with like LL COOL J and Mike Tyson and 60 minutes and just HE WILL TELL YOU ALMOST EVERYTHING in His lyrics and he only writes with a purposes AND . “ For The Love Of The Game”.....his therapy. Brilliant
Big Sean ft. Eminem - No Favors .... YOu have tooooo
Kid Cudi: he destroyed the shit!
Lil Wayne: I already know.
Lmao
The way he lowered his head and ashes LOL!
I love the content you're putting out. Since I've found your channel i have pretty much stopped watching other cats. Mostly because of how indepth you get in the music. Also because i grew up on east coast hip hop. On a side note can't forget Big L!!!
Hey! I love your reactions, theres a rap artist with insane flow and incredible storytelling through word association. The artist is Clipping, and good tracks to start with are "blood of the fang" or, if you're feeling brave, "eaten alive". much love!
Detroit vs everybody is DOPE!!! You got to do it.
Also The Weekend "Tbe hills remix" with EM is storytime.
2:46 Totally fucking agreed!!
Hip-hop be connecting
Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) with LB.
Hip-hop be rocking up towns
Laced with LV
Ain't necessary to roll
In nice rimmed M3's
And be blinging
Hip-hop be bringing together emcees
Y'all asking who that kid
With a flow that's sick
It's Flizzow
And who's Malique
On this Qumran tip
Now follow
We Too Phat
Hip-hop be running thru our veins
It gets us up in the morning
Hip-hop keeps me sane
Wherever you rapping
It's embraced across the globe
It's truly amazing
How it gives people hope
That beat is dope
Y'all holla at the DJ
Hip-hop is staying up at night
To bid for kicks on e-bay
This should be off the hizee
Going make you move for shizze
Blow up spots
Getting crunk with Warren G'zee
Now best believe
KL got the world tuned in
Joe Flizzow with my elements
So let the party begin...
Just a lil bit - Too Phat ft. Warren G.
(Much appreciated if u can do react video on this 1. HipHop unite us, worldwide!)
I love when your accent comes out. makes me smile :)
Diversity in everything. 100% on board with that! The human race would be so much better of if more people would be thinking as you are. So many valuable voices to be heard if we were willing to listen. Love watching your content
Much love from Berlin
I admit I'm chuckling that Mr.LBoyd is preaching diversity but he still hasn't listened to a Tupac album...
I get it, we don't get around to everything in a timeline others might wish for, but it still made me chuckle.
@@jessicashenefield1546 What does diversity have to do with not listening to a pac album.
You my favorite bro love hearing your opinions
Kid cudi and Eminem the adventures of moon man and slim is the track Wayne and cudi were talking about it’s fire
50 loyalty is beyond cents!
The song their talking about is " friday night cypher" , " no favours" and " detroit vs everybody"
50 cent and Ja Rule were beefing and since Eminem signed 50 Eminem is the one who "inherited" the beef
*"The Game" had the best one.*
don't nobody want it with the white boy hahah, love that clip
He told the absolute truth they all know this!!!
Detroit vs everybody is amazing! One of his best ciphers for sure
Pleeeeaaasssse check out “No Favors”. Really is an amazing song
You gotta checkout Eminem - Darkness that whole song is a double in it's self
Bro! We were spoiled growing up in NY. Its so hard to replace any top 5 rappers with a non NY rapper. I hate that Mos Def, Jada Kiss, Wu-Tang, Big L all get slept on nowadays. But dont get it twisted. D12, Dungeon Family, Soul Assasins albums were all fire as well. I love hip hop. I banged Digable Planets growing up. Steve Biko was my favorite song for years. So was 9th wonder.
I grow up a block away where Eminem used to live and I grow up in the 90s and Eminem is from my hometown Detroit
At 16:22 Kid Cudi, song is Adventures of Moon man and Slim Shady
‘‘Em and 50 are two of the best in the game I’m glad they are good friends it makes the world a better place.
@mrlboyd is legitimately the new reaction meta
It's true it was a different Nas after Illmatic but Stillmatic was still fire.
@@merabakerng Same shit goes for Em honestly. People just want the old versions of their favorite artists and not who they become. They grow musically and lyrically, then people trash them because it's not the same as their old shit.
0:47 Haha sometimes it's hard to detect if u r sarcastic or not. Loving it
From Queens NY here and I got Biggie, Mobb Deep, Nas right up there. I think biggie or prodigy has my favorite rapping voices but Em is obviously a God in the mic. Great vid as usual
I feel like in any top 5 , it makes sense to just make NWA as a whole count as 1 since they were a group. One of the most influential groups in RAP, almost every member contributed to the true roots of gangster rap.
I bought the slim shady lp when i was 13 at the little commissary store that was connected to the NATO building in Belgium. Blew my mind on a different avenue of hip hop
That Lil Wayne Eminem interview is so worth watching yooo
Relapse is a guilty pleasure of an album.
One of my favorite albums ever is that Nas and Damian Marley album distant relatives. That shit was so God damn deep and tribal it was scary. Actually got to go see those guys supporting that album live on tour. Sooooo dope
12:40 I'm a bit late but it's gotta be "No Favors" from Big Sean's 2017 album. And Em goes innnn on Ann Coulter 💀🤣 not sure if you've heard it by now, I couldn't find a reaction video. If not, there ya go my dude😎
Respectfully, Em actually jumped into 50's beef with Ja. 50 and Ja had beef on a street level.
Nas was definitely the best east coast rapper. I grew up lising to west coast gangsta rap but still have alot of respect for nas.
From a fellow New Yorker to another I just want to say big up to you and much respect for all you do. Your reaction videos are solid and your knowledge of music shines through every time. “Word is bond G” ;). I’m a 44 yr old queens cat and see the hip hop very similar to you. Thanks and keep rising god. I got one request and I think you’d really love the group “CZARFACE” it’s Inspectah deck from the WU and Boston emcee Esoteric with Dj 7L. Consistently fire. They did a album with the great MF DOOM RIP entitled Metalface vs czarface. I guarantee you will enjoy it. Have a great day sir.
Please listen to Zeus by Em, lyrically a master work. Love your work bro keep it up keep grinding
Can you please react to Rakim. He pioneered flow, introduced a poetic prowess and spiritual erudition. Listen to "Follow The Leader," "The 18th Letter," or- because you're a Nas fan- try Classic- collaboration of Nas, Rakim, KRS-ONE. Thank you.
I think the more the merrier. That sets the bar higher.
Rakim is the #1 in my opinion. Great video!
"If you ain't Joyner...if you ain't Kendrick or Cole or Sean than you a goner."- Eminem
If I’m not mistaken, Big Daddy Kane has a Netflix documentary coming out soon and it has Eminem in it.
Eminem and Jay Z. The two most successful rappers alive rn
Old Eminem was so good I don’t rlly like his new songs but I love and obsessed with his old ones
Eminem is on the top ten selling artists of all time. Out of Avery genre
The small group of GOATS. can't argue any one person as THE number 1 ... handfull of guys Biggie, Pak, Slim, Wayne, Jay, Dre, Cube ect .... They all have and had impact and carved it out to be what it is.
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! dif approach to this and i like it. however 50 did not jump into the em beef,,, it was 50's beef from day 1.
I specifically, would like to see more of this type of content immediately
Diversity of thought is very important 👍👍
LOL
Had to sub, love your insight and the way you speak. I usually listen to metal, but I do listen to some rap. Personally I like 2pac, lil wayne, madchild. I'll listen to some Eminem but not much. Anyways great video man.
Dont forget the Beasties Boys - they revolutionized Hip hop
but 50 is right - Hip hop isn't own by nobody but the person that wants to harness it
My first Rap Cassettes were "FatBoys" "Beasties Boys" Run DMC
Lil Wayne was talking to Kid Cudi during the podcast...
Kid Cudi is my ALL TIME FAVORITE ARTIST!!!!.. is catalog is ridiculous!!
If you watch Detroit vs Everybody you should check out the live version too. The place goes crazy when Eminem comes out. I miss the 90s too and I was young also I was born in 95 but I remember enough to know I miss it
It's kid Cudi adventure of the moon man..great song💯
Detroit vs everybody is sick af
oh definately do Detroit vs everybody!
Hello Sophisticated Reactor, you are the best❤️
MrLboyd sir you need to dive back in cause Relapse is slept on big time. Recovery in MY opinion is one of the greatest hip hop albums period. Then recently Kamikaze, Music to be Murdered By, and Music to be Murdered Side B are all legendary in my opinion. So many crazy bar heavy tracks and all those albums, countless. Plus every feature is better than the last, he washes everyone and anyone he’s on the song with. ✌️❤️
Detroit vs Everybody is straight fire!!!!
Agree 100%... that is a must review. Be prepared to spend some time cuz that review is gonna be lengthy!
"You lose the word love when you say the word mine" ~ Love is a Rose, by Neil Young
Every time someone says "Black Music" they lose the word love.
I'm on my Brooklyn S hard body but when it comes to the goat can't take nothing away from em
