    An Aussie journalist, Vince Rugari, has a biography on Ange. Reading/listening to it and you know that Ange is different. He cares about winning ultimately, but is so much more focussed on the process. The destination to him is immaterial if the process is not in place, because without the latter, the former is not attainable and just a dream. Values for football, but also values for life. Ange is a gift for Spurs!!

      I hope so... I've been very much on the pro support campaign regarding all the negatives lately, but Timo is close to breaking me... He was a ghost against utd, may as well have been 10v10 bar for his cameo missed chance and one attacking run and cross to a space... I am struggling with finding positive words about his performance(s), which are repeats for hiding, passing backwards and not engaging his opposing full back, right or left.... His first touch was really good throughout the utd game... I hope he does do a Brennan

    That was a wonderful team performance and we totally dominated Man Utd. Haven't enjoyed a full match like that for a very long time and it was against a big rival. We could have had 7 or 8 if we'd taken all of our chances. So many players had excellent games, Kulu, VDV, Romero, Johnson, Maddison, Bentancur. Amazing how many times we nicked the ball off Utd when they were trying to break out of defence, it was fantastic. Must take that performance forward now. Very, very happy!

  • @CaptainSw4g

    People who think Timo is poor only watch the highlights. Sure he's not indispensable. But the system works better with him in it and creates space for others - like with Richarlison early on under ange.

    • @imconfused1237
      @imconfused1237 18 днів тому +2

      @@CaptainSw4g Absolutely clueless. I have watched every single minute of every single Spurs game for the last 10yrs. Without question, Timo Werner is one of the most useless forwards my eyes have ever suffered to see. Watching him play should be a form of torture.
      He doesn’t “create space” at all - all he does is run really fast, then either hit it straight at the keeper, over hit a cross or pass it to no one. He has the decision making ability of a League 2 player aligned with the ability of a Championship player. But robbing a wage of £165,000 a week.
      The ‘system works better’ when we have a credible threat across the attacking third. If you’re a Solanke or a Johnson, believe me you have zero idea as to what Werner is going to do. That win was in spite of Werner - not because of him, not in your wildest ever dreams.

    Werner was liked by the fans while he was at Chelsea (according to my nephew who's a seasons ticket holder at Chelsea). He is an "honest" player. Obviously he's lacking confidence in front of goal. With the benefit of hindsight, I'm curious why he didn't try to go round the keeper on the left on one of those occasions. It's almost like he loses all composure when faced with the possibility of scoring. I hope he can turn it around.

We signed Bentancur and took Kulusevski on loan from Juve on the last day of the January transfer window in 2022. The day before we were close to signing Luis Diaz, which was then hijacked by Liverpool and it looked like the signings of Bentancur and Kulusevski was somewhat of a desperate measure to compensate for the loss of Diaz. Now two and half years on they have been outstanding players for us and I’m so pleased that Liverpool hijacked our deal for Diaz.

    It was his other qualities that Ange rated highly enough for him to represent a value to the team.

    We sure he wasn't a winger in a former life? Haha. Absolute freak - I am so excited about how good he can be.
    Also, on the red - we had multiple red last year that were hugely debatable. About time we had a 50/50 go our way. As you say Fernandes is the first guy to fake it to get someone sent off, so his interview was pretty ironic.

    They should have taken Udoge off earlier. Spence did great when he came on. Leaving him out of Europe was a major mistake. But none of this matters.. A fantastic day for our club.

    Thanks for such an upbeat and positive video, Alasdair. Games like the one on Sunday are why we support Spurs. A fantastic display from the whole team even Werner - he did some really great runs but definitely he should have scored at least one of his chances. He needs to start again on Thursday and with luck he will score and get his confidence back. Overall, Spurs are finally starting to gel together in the Ange style. One important reason is that I believe Solanke has already added a great deal to the team. His work rate is excellent at both ends of the field and he is a real fighter and looks like a perfect foil at the front of the Spurs team. Onwards and upwards we go!

      I also think (and Ange has hinted this) that we've had players carrying injuries since the middle of last season. Until the last few weeks "pundits" were questioning if Kulu fitted the Ange system, whether Madders and Brennan were worth recruiting, if Vicario was a liability...many in the Spurs fan base need to understand that *whilst form is temporary, class is permanent*

    Ange interview with rio last season sums up difference between him and eth - ten hag changed his philosophy after getting thumped and became scared to lose and some players don’t trust him and not confident where ange has left players in doubt how we play and given them the confidence to do it

    Loved the segment on Kulusevski, he told you two years ago he sees himself as a #10 and that it’s his best position and he’s certainly backing it up. 100% agree with you that he’s been our best player this season. Love his interviews and always think back to his Players’ Tribune interview earlier in the year, such a fascinating and mature person.

    Im happy the focus is on UTD being poor. We've been at it all 6 games this season.... The year Leicester won, nobody realised while they quietly stayed in contention at the top.. It'll be a well fought season to actually win the prem, youd think City would have to throw it for others to win, but while the focus is off spurs, we can quietly rack up wins and points under the radar of being contenders... All being well, a european run, a cup run... Confidence could be sky high.. its already building as fast as vdv can run

    It was bonded to happen, we saw at the start of the season a bits of greatness, sure we didn’t get the results but u could see where goals would come from.

    Todays Podcast by Mr G is the very epitome of someone having a good day at the office, have to say can’t blame him ether for absolutely beaming from ear to ear, Kulu,Brennan & VDV were brilliant but strangely for me DJed Spence was the standout guy for me, he looked fantastic & im gonna say it now, if Udogie doesn’t stay fit Spence is ready to take that spot on a permanent basis if the form maintains, both wonderful options at LeftBack for Ange, always really liked DJed Spence since the FA cup ties v Forest when he played The Goons & Spurs it’s clear as daywhy we didn’t push for another LB.

    Maddison playing slighly deeper partnered with Kulu in that midfield gives us so much more creativity. And they both press well

    • @orinorio1
      @orinorio1 19 днів тому +1

      Yeah. Notice that too. Kulu stays high an plays between the Cb and midfielder of the opposing team. And players are knowing that if they pass to him makes runs beyond him as he will find them
