    Original Description from 2008:
Ah, I had to literally TRAIN myself to get the page turning right on this one. Man was it difficult. The second turn is right after the climax starts too! Seriously, it was just complete luck that I managed to turn it and hit the next chord without a mistake O.O
I bent the corners of the pages for smoother turns, try it if you don't mind slightly damaging your sheets :P.
So anyway, I remember I always had the hardest time trying to fix up a juicy arrangement of this song. I first bought this Disney book when I was about 12, and I never enjoyed playing this piece. Finally, six years later, I have come up with something presentable. So, naturally, I wanted to show you guys!
    Enjoy!
    Your Pianist and Composer,
    Kyle Landry

Kyle did you ever play Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars? There’s a song called “let’s go down to wine river.” It’s very different and faster pace. But I think you would kill it!

I watched this video as a 14 year old thinking how amazing it was. I've been trying to find it ever since then, and assumed it was deleted because I swear I looked through almost every Whole New World piano cover and I knew they weren't this one because it was so unique. I finally found it, I cannot believe it. It was so inspiring, genuinely made me the pianist I am today. So thank you so much. This is incredible.

What I really want to check out is his score to OPIN SASAME (or “ש細ש三味線ש” in that famous turned frais of L. Hearn) a freewheeling Haiku adaptation of “Aladdin” set in Hokkaido, I believe, during the Russo-Japanese War, where a Princess is condemned to winter in a blindingly Klausto-Serastro-Sapphobic greenhouse with a group of American politicians stranded after a plane crash (there’s an episode of implied cannabizantialism) until of course just in time Vlad in a Ratty-Ol’ Zil cometh Heian...
I tell you, Luigi, if it doesn’t say “Libby” on the FErROot-Lupus-LAbiLE then it wasn’t produced by the Cheney cabal, and there won’t be a note of « Darius-Hante Bleu » to be found anywhere within... So why mine a resource like that, I ask, if returns are unbearably thin?
As for the source of Rorem’s appendices, ha, you‘d be better off Ned not to ask....and I haven’t checked if he’s living or dead... O Gloria Flextremis, O Birkin-Enow Calypstody Bag-Avant-VaJaya-H’Ayne? Stop all the clocks if they’re all yelling red
      ua-cam.com/video/4yVORJh3VqM/v-deo.html
Who Rorem’d in ‘The Waste Land’ that they wished they were dead?

When my depression and anxiety creep up on me, and I feel like I'm ready to end it, I come listen to these songs. Kyle, your fingers work magic untying the knots in my head, and I'm really thankful for that.
About two months ago, one of my best friends killed himself.
Since then, I wrote myself a Safe Note I read out loud every time I feel down. It goes like this:
"Have you got a baby picture handy? Look at it. Really look at it. Now look up- around you- at you. Look how far you've come, how much you've accomplished- how much you've grown! Between the big victories and the little ones, the little screw ups and the big ones... in between all of that, you've managed to live. Don't worry about how far you have to go, or even where you're headed, just remember that you're going. That's what counts. Chin up soldier, Its only halftime."

I've been having more suicidal thoughts more frequently than usual. I'm 16. Maybe it's because I've merely wasted my entire childhood doing nothing but being indoors all the time. But then your message says it all. Savor every moment of your life. You'll hopefully feel satisfied when you're on the brink of death 70 to 80 years later. You've tasted the sweetest parts of life; try to avoid the bitter ones.

Okayyyy so I quit my piano lessons because I started playing at the level of my teacher and it wasn't necessary to have to continue to pay for lessons. So lately, I've been doing everything on my own. I mean I guess it's kind of difficult considering I have no motivator. I am the accompianist for my choir but I'm only a freshman and some of the pieces are challenging. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that you're the reason I challenge myself and you're also the reason why I come home and play for hours everyday because one day I want to be like you and play the way you do. You're so freaking talented and gifted, I can't even.

Want to stay motivated? Search videos of Daniel Barenboim, Keith Jarrett, etc. Keith Jarrett once ended an interview fast. Because he said that he had to go back home an practice piano.
Even the greatest geniuses prarctice a lot and consider that they have a lot to improve.

Whatever genius wrote this song must have had goosebumps 10 feet high while the idea spilled out, as he sat at the piano going “yes… yessssss… YESSS… YESSSSS!!… YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!🥹🥲”
That melody is so beautiful and brilliant in every way. In fact a lot of Disney film scores are; Disney is a hidden composing powerhouse. If any musician were to flip on old Disney films and pay attention to the music, he’d realize what I’m talking about - that the melodies in Disney films are musically gorgeous.

UPDATE: Strange. I just read my video description of this (written when the video came out, in May, 2008), and in it was mentioned how I was only 12 years old when I first acquired the Disney piano arrangement book used in this video, and how that was 6 years ago. Now, as I type this (May, 2014), it has been 6 years since this video came out. Am I old?

    Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
    I can open your eyes
    Take you wonder by wonder
    Over, sideways and under
    On a magic carpet ride
    A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
    Or where to go
    Or say we're only dreaming
    A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But now from way up here
    It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
    Unbelievable sights
    Indescribable feeling
    Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
    Through an endless diamond sky
    A whole new world
(Don't you dare close your eyes)
A hundred thousand things to see
(Hold your breath - it gets better)
    I'm like a shooting star
    I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be
    A whole new world
    With new horizons to pursue
    I'll chase them anywhere
    There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
    A whole new world
    (A whole new world)
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
    Or where to go
    Or say we're only dreaming
    A whole new world
    (Every turn a surprise)
    With new horizons to pursue
    (Every moment gets better)
    I'll chase them anywhere
    There's time to spare
    Anywhere
    There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
    A whole new world
    (A whole new world)
    That's where we'll be
    (Where we will be)
    A thrilling chase
    A wondrous place
    For you and me

HI, my advice would be to slow it right down, take it literally like half a bar at a time if you are finding it difficult. the two techniques I use are to learn each bar seperately and slow it down, but also if u can, try recording your left hand and then playing your right over the top. that will help to see how it all fits together. also i have almost finished now just got the rundowns bit down, hopefully will upload soon :)

Kyle, I'd just like to say, that you are an incredibly creative and talented individual. Your videos inspired me to learn piano, and one day I hope I can play as beautifully and as passionately as you. I have been listening to your music for years and often put on one of your playlists on in the background if I'm studying/ relaxing. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

he makes it look simpler than it is. Man this is an "invention" (meaning left hand copies right hand) those things are hard to play because you're playing a melody with the hand you normally don't play melody. He is honestly pure talent.

You used really rich harmony which gave it a big, open sound. Really exentuated the melody and let it sing. Well done, pal.

most sheet music is so empty and bare bones. this arrangement is full, melodic, and feels like you're listening to the whole song, not just a stiff, musicbox 'piano' version. nice work!

the first time i heard someone play live on a grand piano in a huge room on an amazing beautiful old schimmel piano was this song... and your arrangement reminds me so well about this lifetime experience!
Your arrangement: the repeating melody against the changing chords passage from 2:14 .. 2:34 i wish this could loop quiet forever, before it resolves in 2:30/31 which is an amazing chord that you choose there! And i love how you put this amount of emotion into it, you truly understand music!
