Understand it's not said to upset you, legally media cannot state anything other than 'alleged' until a court finds someone guilty. They can be open to civil suits if they don't.

@@redbarchetta8782 Correct, if the reporter had been referring to specific individuals. But since no suspects have been identified, no one is yet alleged to have committed the crime. Video proves the theft occurred, not an alleged theft. Thieves undoubtedly exist who perpetrated the thievery, but we don't know who they are, and there's no legal liability. If individual scumbags are ever indicted (or even simply accused), they will then be alleged thieves. But for now, the reporter's use of the term smacks of having rented one's mind to to the network legal dept. or gov't regulators.

If my boss wouldn't pay to replace my tools I'd refuse to work in that area.

Why blur their identities???!!? They were caught in the act. Blurring the car license plate, makes sense if it to was stolen- though, on the other hand, showing it could help alert the public and get the car returned if stolen.

The guy should ask his boss about the insurance on the van, because when our tools were stolen out of our work vans, those tools were covered as part of the theft insurance. He was on the job when the theft happened. I guess that guy is going to find out what his boss is about pretty quick.

I was up on a roof of a commercial building some years back working on A/C and heard glass break on my service truck. I ran to the roof's parapet edge, only to see a man breaking into the cab and grabbing stuff from my console; he left the tools in back alone. He stole a prescription of antibiotics and my high school class ring and jumped into a waiting car ... the ring was irreplaceable. No place is safe from thieves.
Quit servicing "those" areas! Then you'll hear them whine!

In these times he might well end up charged with assualt and/or battery (no pun intended). This is property theft. You can't risk injuring or killing someone for a property theft unless you want to end up in jail. Even police can't shoot at a fleeing thief if they don't represent an immediate threat to life.
My tools were on the other end of the building and I was going to get parts from my van. There was nothing to throw and it seemed more important to get a picture of their plate than to run all the way back to the other end of the roof so I could throw something at them.
They were gone in a second.
Whenever you are working alone in these types of situations it is important to tie the top of your ladder to a part of the structure you are climbing onto.
That is beyond messed up

Sounds like a good idea until the cops give you a bracelet for your troubles and a judge or jury give you “time” to contemplate your actions for a few years as the “woman’s” relatives tell the courts how you stopped the life of a woman in the process of turning her life around registering for community college and how she was a good mother and pillar of the community etc. That she needed money for school clothes and made a stutter step in misjudgment.

I’m a contractor and it’s horrible people do this I have all my tools insured just in case something like this happens to me since I go to a lot of dangerous areas you never know what to expect

They cut your hands off. Repeatedly. Eventually, I gave up and still don't want anything except to be left alone. With nothing, there is nothing to steal. Even my sister got in on the action, robbing me of everything I brought home from Germany, following me to Alaska, where I escaped, complaining I did not do enough to support her while she refused to go to work.
I watched this happen driving in Asbury Park nj on main st. Mexicans robbed workers ladders and all. 🤷😂 Other people were like what just happened. The dudes were on the roof all pissed off. All the stuff on the ground, gone. Then the light turned green and i drive away laughing. Just wow when u see stuff like that go on🤷🫡
