Princess Pad's tragic backstory also reveals the psychology of her personality not only the love. Princess Im was chronically sick and Lady Pad (she was probably Lady at that time) was assigned to be her caretaker. As you see, she's very docile and strongly adheres to traditions. Princess Im knew that and respected the way Pad is. She also didn't have time to live so she didn't want to leave Pad alone to suffer the consequences of their love. She confessed to her while keeping boundaries and without pressuring her much further. It's clear that Pad felt relieved hearing that confession but also ashamed cause she felt the same. However, she only fell in love but never fully experienced it. Princess Pad is complicated. She knows the feeling of sapphic love but she does have internalized homophobia and experiences what Princess Im said about love being "uncertain." Pad fears the unaccepting society and painful path for Lady Pin. She, being overbearing, shelters Pin from that path which is understandable but she is doing a more diabolical solution: marrying her off to Kuea. I think future episodes will add more details to the backstory of Princess Pad and Princess Im because it's even sadder than you think. I can't give spoilers for now.
About driving, Lady Pin has a driver and women weren't allowed to drive at that time but Anin, being a iconic feminist, broke traditions. She wore pants this episode, which was basically an unpopular option for women at that time. She taught Prik how to read and write. She even used the same folk as Prik did (which is rare in Thai period dramas), showing the level of modern mindset Anin has. This was the time where Thailand was in the stage of becoming modern. That's why they are showing the introduction of education and its importance. Princess Pad has been adapting to the modern society but also struggles with it. While Prince Anan fully adapting to it. He raised Anin as a gentlewoman, respectful, strong, kind, smart and open-minded. I think that's why Pin loves her. She has everyone who is controlling her life except Anin who accepts her choices but also tries to keep her safe.

Someone told me about Im-Pad’s story being gut wrenchingly sad, I kinda want them to explore it more, kissing or not. It looks like a great but sad love story and I am a sucker for those! We have 6 more episodes left so fingers crossed we see them more!!
Aaaaaaaaah yes yes so the car came with the driver, that explains why Pin was surprised to see Pattamika getting out of it alone!
The way I only realized the pants later on, cuz knowing Anin and how bold she is, it wasn’t very surprising for her to do whatever she wants and whenever she wanted.
