Well, that depends on how large a group, and what kind of experience you’re looking for. If you’re looking for an intense, long, and very thoughtful game for 8-16 ppl, I don’t think you can do better than blood on the clocktower. But, for just giggles, something like monomer/times up doesn’t require the same kind of intensity and is just fun. There are so many games. I’d recommend going to boardgamegeek and sorting by party games if you want even more suggestions.
That dog knows you are trying to pass off a crap hand to him, and isn't going to take it. Automatic upvote for the "tired of your BS" dog. It's also a great review.
As much as I appreciate your longform essay vids, These sub 15min reviews are ideal for me as well as I can consume and appreciate them quickly. Everytime you guys release an essay, it takes me a long time to find the space in my schedule between work and kids to consume it. Looking forward a to mix of both types in the future. Keep up the excellent work gang!
Thanks for another great review from my favorite Disney Princess! I've been looking forward to more coverage of this game since SU&SD dropped a mention of it (I have some family members who love hiking who I have been looking for games to play with) so I am really grateful for as much in depth consideration as you gave it here!
Not gonna lie, when I heard the Microsoft Windows error sound--on my PHONE--my heart leapt into my throat for a moment before my brain registered the gag. Well played, NPI. Well plate. Autocorrect changed the second, misspelled "played" into "plate" and I'm keeping it in for comedy reasons.
For a second there I thought you were going to say "and now for something completely different". Great review and hidden Monty Python reference... double great!
Bessie and Efka in the Wilds! The most Pythonesque segue ever! And nice new dapper "do" Efka! And any are reading this Tune In to Talk Cardboard! They really talk cardboard!
While the waterproof nature of the PVC cards is ridiculous like you're saying, you can't sleeve the card cards, and I do worry about their durability - my local board game cafe's copy of Bandido is GRIM. So I went for PVC - they shuffle nicer too.
@@arthurdent9281Yeah Radlands uses PVC cards as well. Although the Trailblazers cards are a tad thinner (which is good because small cards are hard to shuffle if they are too thick).
Not accepting review copies is AWESOME. You'll feel so much better when absolutely blasting a game into outer orbit -- or loving it, for that matter. No more nagging thoughts in the back of your mind. No awkward e-mails.
The mechanic of passing your hand to the player to your left reminds me of Between Two Cities .. if BTC was only about playing the last few rounds where every hand you get from the player to your right is constantly a poor fit for your city 😑
Fantastic review. Watched a lot of your vids but never felt compelled to comment til now (!). As a big fan of sprawlopolis and non wasteful, environmental friendly games, this review and highlighting of all the versions etc was perfecto. Have a cracking Sunday evening!
@@NoPunIncluded You mean my game as in Crumbs! The sandwich filler game (would blow my teeny brain if you were aware of it) or you mean how my game of trailblazers goes as likely to pick it up!
what a brave decision to get away from review copies, I always admired your integrity and personally I wouldn't call you biased if you'd keep receiving review copies instead, but I appreciate the extra effort you are making there!
I appreciate you saying that but bravery had nothing to do with it. It was simply convenient and somewhat necessary for us to do so. I don't think review copies have any actual sway, there are far more pressing issues for board game media to tackle.
You got the animal sidekick, and did acts of heroism, of course you’re a Disney Princess (TM)! I don’t think I would like a pipe game, but I like Sprawlopolis and Railroad Ink. The animals expansion does make the game look more appealing.
Just listening to your explanations regarding review copies. As someone who works in the book publishing industry in Germany, the new UK regulations sounds outright stupid. And the worst thing: They can't even blame Brussels for that.
Lovely review ❤ Trailblazers seems an awful lot like Button Shy's "Sprawlopolis" family of games, with the overlapping of cards and scoring conditions based on shapes and connections? That game hurts my brain too much though, so I'm gonna stick with Calico (which I love btw, perfect amount of crunch)
8:27 would love some recommendations on large group games, if anyone would be so kind

Dope. I must have mistyped that and it autocorrected.
Monomers should be monikers
Yeah we have a regular game group of 5 or 6 people and it's always a struggle trying to find a good game at that number
6 nimmt! or Feed the Kraken
I love No Thanks

That handle placement on the small cupboard will haunt my nightmares.
See, no, because if the handle was lower it would be unreachable.
I would like to add that this game is an amazing solo game - so much content- so fun - and quick!

Dying at the "American Bird" joke

Are these like the deluxe cards for Radlands, or something different? I really like the ones in Radlands.

Love the Talk Cardboard podcast.
Also good luck with your true independence! Excited for things to come.
This is one of your finest reviews, and one if your funniest as well! Thanks for the great work ❤
Little did you know that I actually have a Phobia of Tiny Doors. Like for real. You coming out of that tiny door made me jump out of my seat.
awww I'm so sorry!
Been waiting to pull the trigger on this one. This tipped me over! Great Video as always!

@@NoPunIncluded Will let you know for sure if (or rather when😅) I get my hands on a copy!!👍
Great review! Love your podcast, by the way. It's just more NPI, something we all need.
I love the look of disdain on your third player's face.

Loving the new doo! A little long for my style but still sharp 😎
You're a Disney princess! .. this is the best I could do because video Efka can't hear me. Delicious regret tears.
2:57 Ken channeling Efka, or is it vice versa?
Just like how actual hiking destroys me.
This sounded interesting in the podcast.
Thank you for that very informative review. Was very entertaining too!
Thanks for the review!
I love Curious Cargo….. so I’ll probably love this. Even though it hurts my brain
You're a Disney princess Harry!

Is that cupboard where they keep you between reviews? 😂
Nick Murray appreciation post!
no more review copies!? that is bold. you earned a podcast sub for that.
This games looks like the perfect combination of bullshit and regret. I think I'm in love.
I said "you're a disney princess" at my monitor.
I did not say "it can and will make you regret your decision later".
This looks like sprawlopolis' big brother... I'm in!!
Thought you were saying Kiiking which is a far more extreme way to travel
You're absolutely a Disney Princess! 😆
Thanks
1:39 unbothered
This game is literally Railroad Ink but with cards instead of dry erase markers.
Sort of? There's some overlap, but the spacial puzzle is much looser than RRI.
@NoPunIncluded the base game is virtually the same but yeah, there are added puzzles that change it up a bit.
It felt more like Sprawlopolis to me - but with more emphasis on roads
Look at that, dog.
Engagement for the engagement god!

This game is exceedingly difficult to get my hands on where i live. that's upsetting.
so its basically Draftromantik lol Stay Hexy!
That is definitely not a zebra...😅😂

great the new hairstyle and beard.
✌
You're a Disney Princess!
this doesn't look like a good game for dogs to play on account of how dogs aren't great at following trails both in game and in real life
I like bulldogs
Hey hey heeeyy, love your videos
1:39 Why would I bother playing your foolish game, human? Its not even made of food!
This game sounds absolutly terrible... but I need to try it :D
Lol 😂
