You basically figured this out - Barrel Behind the Door interacts with a spell/trap CARD activation, not a spell/trap effect activation. It’s more effective against something like Just Desserts or Tremendous Fire because they burn on card activation.
For early Yu-Gi-Oh! Toons are extremely rare outside of SDP cards. And for a second there I thought Rhyme was about to solely pull MRL/SRL to make they $10,000 Toon deck that’s 1/10 as good as a $15 chaps deck
