Quick tip for izinagi is to hold the reload button as you fire the shot. This will force it to do the special reload instead of normal reload. If you wanna practice it just go to the crafting table and behind it is a shooting range that gives you infinite ammo.
@luckymec it's an old destiny trick that has other benefits on other guns like rockets for example you can reload then faster by pressing the button as you fire. If you don't the game takes a few seconds to start to reload automatically. But if u press the button right away as u fire the last shot you reload sooner. In simple terms your animation canceling.

Izinagi is overrated. The only good use for Izi is just for boss dps and it's not a weapon for everyone, It's hard to use hard to perfect reload timing and if you miss 1 charged shot that's mean bye bye to your 200k damge it's a weapon for elitist. I remember when I was playing vow on rhulk I was using lucky malf + apex for DPS then an elitist just saw my loadout then flames and forcing me to use THEIR meta(izi + apex) it's end up with I was the one who done most damage on the team with 4m while the izi elitist just done with 2.8m, shame on him.

I believe Xur is the main way. Season passes usually have them, but they don't drop from any activities
