India is a nation state as we had a common Hindu culture across the boundaries.
No we have State-nation because not in all states Hindus are majority... We are secular till now so we can't bind the nation state with the religion so it can be State-nation......
State nation have different identities and same culture.... So India is State-nation

Nation state- When people united with on the basis of language, religion , colour and formed nation is called nation states.
Modern state- The concept and practises of modern state in which a centralized power exercised sovereign control over a clearly defined territories or simple way it is controlled by monarch.
