What really stuck out to me more than anything is that the cast was so supportive of each other and helped each other along the way even though they were competing. Daniel even helped Ming Ju at the very end. No cattiness, drama or shade thrown like other shoes
Cause that is what is usually happening in a respectful environment. If creatives can knowledge the talent of the the others everybody starts giving tips and helping everyone archive the best thing they could come out with cause everybody appreciates and loves to see something incredible come to life. It was the same in my art school
As a designer I loved this show. I am hoping there is a season 2. It was refreshing seeing no drama and cattiness, just talent, and everyone knowing each person will execute the theme very differently from each other.
I LOVE that show. Every one is so inspiring, crafted, innovative and i really loved how Kerby defended Kiki. He stayed true to his guts and that's respectful.
I feel like there was more going on behind the scenes that got to him. He has a point 100% though. Both teams had 1 look that him and the other judge liked. The blue trash bag looked just as bad as the floral purple diaper thing the girl had on. I do think the purple team overall has been the weakest in the competition overall; however, the Asian team executed that "plastic" ruching look better. I think he was upset by white people and other people telling the Afro-Latino communities what "street/hip hop/Urban" wear is, when it was created by us. The idea of "street wear" started in our communities, but it's now being heavily white washed. Farai and Kiki's looks are very Afro-Latino and WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED by the fashion industry as a whole because it's white washed, LA, and rich white kid trying to be hip.
*Kerby* was absolutely right with what he said... He knows what works the best in the fashion industry ...especially in advanced high street fashion...Farai and Kiki were on point ....the garbage bag design needed to go.
Also judging based on execution is silly because everyone knows 2 days of work is unrealistic, so better to judge on concept not how well the seams look
@@SixFingeredAmish i get yahh.. most of them were judged unfairly....i mean they had great ideas and designs....and art amd concepts.. but the time given is unrealistic and its not fair....i hope those judges can do the same art and masterpieces those contestants did....coz even the judges when are put into short time and high pressure of competition....hopefully they could compare to these contestants....
Farai and Kiki were consistently bad in each episode tho. they don't have the innovation and next factor they were looking for, compared to others they looked like amateurs. all those outfits looked overfilled. they might had ideas but they didnt know to execute them at a professional level. agreed the lack of time is limited, but also at least they get some rest between one day and the other.
I agree he was right but he was right about them only for street wear. For others categories/themes they were not on point. I am not talking about finishes and execution but design.
Sinny Sun I think it had to do more he was a guest job and the other judges saw their other designs before, and they felt they could do no more. Execution wise they held that standard to all contestants, but repeatedly in other challenges they had the same comment. So history had a lot to do with it.
I love how frank and unpretentious Alexa comes across. Of course she'd promote her own brand on a Netflix show she hosts, why should she be embarassed about that? She's a business woman, it's business!
1049berkeley theres mr porter too which is just an imprint and presumably where mens clothes would have been sold its a pretty big publication/site it wouldnt have been a snub to be sold there
Karen Lewkowitz well if you watched it right till the semi finals and you’ll find one of the designers recycling the off cuts that the other designers used
@@lancerave yes, did watch it too the end. My post was to indicate that more of that - upcycling would be something I would watch. Thank-you for your response
Such a fake competition,Of course the Indigenous people get booted off,I hope Claire didn't think she wasn't next,I knew she was next, her father is indigenous,I was looking forward to this show,I rooted for so many of em,I'm fed up with.not giving people of color a chance

Yessss. Daniel was such a sweetheart. The way he cared for carli too... ❤️

SA it’s because it’s the first season wait like 3 seasons and they’ll be ripping at each other’s next
Yeah I really appreciated that.
As a designer I loved this show. I am hoping there is a season 2. It was refreshing seeing no drama and cattiness, just talent, and everyone knowing each person will execute the theme very differently from each other.
They basically got rid of all the drama people in the first 3 episodes lol
I really liked it too. So disappointed that it was canceled.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, there will be a season 2 - with Tan and Gigi Hadid hosting.
The World needs more Minju Kim

Lol. I heard Safya's intro music
Koya Moon I was just going to say that
Tan and Alexa are fun to watch on the show, they've got the perfect chemistry as hosts.

Tan and Alexa looked crazy on the episode with Kerby

You guys thought no one would notice it? LOL

I was not surprised Minju won; she is very talented, but Net-a Porter only reps womens clothing

How does this video not have comments? Also, I love Tan & Alexa they're so great.
I just LOVE Tan's laugh. What an absolute charmer
B millan he is such a legend!!
Why the awful background music thru the interview.
Tan and Alexa are perfect.
Would like to see upcycled fabrics as the waste with instant fashion is huge

...to the end
The problem with a season 2 is that they chose the best designers around the world, so who do they pick for season 2?
A lot in Philippines dear! ;)
I dont think tan shouls have been a judge but I mean... he is already on the Netflix Team so i guess thay had to keeo it in the finally...
Carlos Corminola why not? He is more well known as a “fashion expert” and he really is talented!
Agreed. Funny how his comments about the designs on the runway were the total opposite from the guest judges who are professional desingers
wtf's
going on with alexa's mic
apploko she’s not speaking directly into the mic, she’s sitting a bit further back.
Is Tan wearing Daniels design?
Tinna Kristjánsdóttir no I think it’s just the stars! 😂
The terrible music in the background is literally making me turn this video off. bye
Kerby’s behavior was so disrespectful to the production, unprofessional and childish. He’s a guest judge not the ONLY judge.
