I got a bit OCD over two things: leaving the two amber LEDs in place instead of reusing the two red LEDs that were taken off, and soldering the leads from the top side.
Use a soldering iron that can adjust the temperature. Use lead - containing solder. Cleaning the tip of the soldering iron cleanly. I think that it will be successful with these three points.

How to set the time? Where are the control buttons?
There are 4 colored buttons on the PCB. Those are probably the controls.
Guess he will be plugging that at 12 am 🤣🤣
Just a concept, you can make place for the buttons at back using small pc board

秒コロン、LED変更した方が良いと思う。もっと低照度で7セグのコロンと同じ大きさぐらいのが良いですね。東芝製など探せばありますので、お勧めします。現状だと色味も明るさも違和感が… 大きなお世話ですね(^^♪
Instead of veener if you use red Plexiglas it would have been much more brighter than it is now.

But, the color of the LEDs is red, so very little would appear.

7セグメントLEDが黒いので0.3ミリの厚さの板ではおそらく透けて見えてしまう。それをカムフラージュするためだと思われます。
