Go to the Health and Counseling Centre !!!!! Mental Health/Physical Health unfortunately is not a priority for most students. Trust me the second Istarted focusing on my health my grades improved!
As a graduate of UTM... I miss that campus so much. Did my grad school at st. George uoft and nothing compares to the community in UTM. Great group of people.
I go to utm everything these people say is so accurate. Yeah it’s not a party school but there’s those few people you will find that are fucked up in your first year and if you’re not careful, you could be taken out with the rest of them (natural selection) good luck to all future utm students
@@lusisian Hey, to me it was depressing due to how competitive it was. It felt very defeating at times. I only felt academic relief when i applied for accessibility (this gives you extensions and extra time on exams for individuals struggling mentally or physically) if you make a good group of friends, it won't be as depressing- because at least you have someone going through it with you. The upside for me is I met my future partner in my first year, and we are still together after five years :). I know many of my peers have met their significant other at UTM as well and are still together post graduation.
I graduated in my 4 years and I am a huge procrastinator and I never bought any textbooks, but you definitely get the grade for whatever work you put in. So if do procrastinate and you’re okay with mediocre grades then you’re blessed
@First Name Last Name the very device and digital platform you are using to post this comment was made by white people. That University will become non-existent soon due to it's lack of progress.
This became a mental health ad. UTM is great for its resources especially when it comes to health. The help is there; you just gotta seek it out. The campus is beautiful and green. Find the professors you can vibe with and learn from them. Most of them are pretty accommodating. Courses take hard work. There will be bird courses, but you need to earn your grades, overall. Food is expensive. Books are expensive. Take advantage of the career centre. Know important dates. Last, you don’t really need to buy every textbook.
I'm looking into the university cause I'll have to go soon and I was wondering, do u know how ppl usually deal with the large tuition fee at the school, especially for international students? (cause I'm one)
Ugh, thanks for this. Brought back painful memories from 20 years ago. Lonely, depressing, zero guidance, professors thought they were God's gift to mankind and on and on. Good to know nothing has changed!
Yo man, love the vids and subbed. Just wanted to know if you'd be keen on doing videos specifically on certain majors. I guess your depth will be greater, and you can interview all levels (Undergrad, Masters, and PhD). This gives a better overview of the subject matter at those Universities and how those students cope, what they advice etc. Stay cool man!
Hi, are they good memories or bad? Do you have advices for new student? I read so many unhappiness comments above, seemed so sad to have downgraded such a good university.
LMFAOO UTM IS HELL, LITERALLY. Hands down one of the most depressing institutions on earth, dk why people keep coming here without doing research of what they're signing up for
Because when you say its depressing, us highschoolers don't actually know what you mean by that. For all we know it could just be due to poor time management from the students.
@@dillpickle5960 oh no, there poor time management and then theres just excessive work that you humanely cannot and should not put up with. you could go to any other uni and learn the same thing someone is utm is learning and youd have an easier time learning and getting higher grades. I take 5 courses so multiply all those readings by that, and I have to do them to pass and understand whats happening in class. it literally doesn't make sense. plus the school is boring asf with no real appeal to it but its name

I'm pretty studious, I've always considered academics to be a priority and often sacrifice socializing for school. BUT, not to the point I get depressed or feel extremely lonely which is the trend I'm seeing at UofT. This uni environment is simply depressing, lonely and lacks school spirit. You're in uni to get good grades and a degree, yes I completely agree, but a trade off to get that shouldn't be your emotional wellbeing. That's not a way to live. Schools like mcmaster and western actually have a balance.
Not all people in community college are “bums”. I’m going to community college first to gain transfer credits and prepare myself for university. I would have loved to go to university first but because of circumstances this is the best way for me to go about it.
idk I go here and it's honestly not as bad as all these people are making it seem. I came in with a fairly high average though and so did all the friends I met my first week here, and we're all doing fine. Sure it's a lot of work but it's definitely doable and the girls were wrong, there are "bird-courses" here in the sense that the tests aren't hard if u put some effort into studying.
Bruh fr don’t come here it’s miserable asf. Been here for 2 years. Everyone’s depressed asf and always stressed. It’s also a commuter school so people just leave right after class. Sure you’ll make friends but most people are not that open and are constantly studying. Choosing this uni was proll one of the worst decisions in my life. Trust me bruh the prestige is not worth it. You’ll be better off anywhere else.
