  • Hello everyone and welcome to another trip report! Today I'm flying onboard Ryanair for a nice quick hop to Newcastle from Dublin on s bright Spring morning! Or is it? 🤔 Watch the full video to find out!
Another normal nice flight on Ryanair. I've grown to see Ryanair as an actually decent carrier, maybe cuz I'm used to it! 😂 I'd say that Ryanair is perfect for these kind of hour and less flights but any more than 2-3 hours can slowly become torture! Like imagine being a passenger on the near 6 hour Warsaw to Tenerife flight!
Smooth sailing out of Dublin, we were informed that there might be a delay due to lack of ATC staff in Newcastle, but that was soon scratched and we only took off with a small 15-20 minute delay and made it up by landing 3-4 minutes early.
From what I thought was going to be a brilliant sunny day at Newcastle, as the west of England seemed sunny, I realised where I'm flying to XD. I assume the UK has very similar weather to Ireland as we're close by and it can change any second haha so one second I look out the window - it's sunny! The other - an enormous blanket of clouds covering the land as far as the eye can see! That did make up for a fascinating landing though! 😁
The skill of the pilots was evident, as they and the cabin crew kept us up to date with our possible delay and also managed to land in such low visibility first try!
Anyways, enjoy the video and please like and subscribe if you enjoyed, as it motivates me to create more content like this for you! 😁✈️

It differs very slightly from airport to airport, but typically low visibility ops are in force when the RVR drops to below CAT 1 ILS minima (550m). Some airports say 600m. I can tell you from experience that the RVR from your video is nowhere near even CAT 1 minima - my guess is about 2000-3000m. Granted, the cloud ceiling is low, which makes it feel, subjectively, like low viz, when in fact by definition it's not even close. Hope that's helpful
