The changes to Spirit Blade II do sounds really cool. I think people are sleeping on that right now because of how many other flashy things they've been distracted by in the demo. That move sounds like a lot of fun to use (and it will be used CONSTANTLY), so that's the type of thing that gets me hyped to pick up LS in the eventual public Wilds demo (assuming Capcom releases that a few months ahead of the game's release, again)
Hey! I'm trying to go into the game blind so won't be watching this video, but wanted to say super excited that you'll be continuing your amazing videos into the new game. See you on launch
I think you missed the new spirit charge attack with the longsword (Hold R2). Yuya Tokuda did it in the live stream and there some reddit post about it.
Spirit Blade II feels like the new Dividing Slash (the 3rd Spirit Blade in the Spirit Reckoning Combo) where you can move for quite some distance at the cost of longer attack animation. And if you are already at the right position and want the move to come out as quick as possible, you can just press it without touching the left stick.
Can you still roll out of the Iai stance? I forgot how much of a QOL that was in Rise coming from World, and going back to play some world I was surprised how often that gets me in trouble not being able to roll out of it. Also seems like you can't refresh red gauge, so similar to 4U in that sense?
@@Mirranda096 Regarding Iai Stance, I literally wrote this question down in my notes before the demo and I realise I never actually wrote down the answer; I’m pretty sure it is like Rise (since I feel like I’d’ve noticed the clunkiness if it were like World…) but I’m not 100%. And yeah, the 4U comparisons are definitely accurate; for what it’s worth, I think I did notice the red gauge jumping back up again at least once, but that might have just been me a bit crazy and I wasn’t sure what caused it.
1. can you roll out of the special sheath? 2. Is the time you can stay in the special sheath still 5 seconds? 3. Are you able to chain special sheath if you hit the iai Spirit Slash counter? 4. Can you cancel Foresight into special sheath/ Helmbreaker?
As you said seems like you want to stay in crimson and make sure to be sure you will land the helmbreaker. But now that you can cancel the helmbreaker rolling out, it still would be better to stay in crimson or just spam the helmbreaker but if you don't land it roll it out and try again?
@@dreamingsuntide1 Spirit Release looks like it hits really hard, so not sure whether staying in red would even be worth it vs just going for helm breaker immediately.
Hard to say right now, but hoping for it. I don't think we had the Quick Sheathe skill in the demo, and without the Quick Sheathe skill it felt about the same pace as Rise. So the only real question is whether the QS skill actually still works with Iai Slash (and I really hope it does!!)
@@RathalosLARP Here’s hoping for that. i was playing some world on PC and then Rise on Switch in prep for this video and the difference was night and day
bro please learn how to speak, this stuff is easily fixable through exercise. I had speech impairments too as a kid, it's fixable. For normal people it's probably just slightly annoying, but people with misophonia simply can't listen to you speak
Does focus mode have any drawbacks outside of having to hold a button and aim your camera? I feel as a keyboard and mouse player id almost never have a reason not to use it lol
@@ianhur I don’t think so, but I didn’t get too much practice with it. I suspect what you’d use it for is what they intended for the mechanic, but as is I like the default controls. More options are always good though!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments here and I'll respond as well as I can remember!
So happy to see you again!

Give this man a press pass!

It also seems like the Focus attack levels up your spirit gauge, but maybe only if you hit more wounds at once

That could probably work! But even then, I'd like hitting my high-damage Crimson attacks anyway ;)
@@dreamingsuntide1 Spirit Release looks like it hits really hard, so not sure whether staying in red would even be worth it vs just going for helm breaker immediately.
Also, you can now cancel the helmbreaker mid air and not lose the red gauge
Can you chain special sheath? Just like in rise
I was hoping you'll play some lance🤧
any taught regarding lance playstyle?
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try it/do any proper looks, but just briefly it does seem interesting!
nice!
is quick sheathe still as fast as rise's version of quick sheathe? 🙂
I also have this doubt, wilds seems to be more similar to world from the trailers

@@dreamingsuntide1 thank you!! take care with travels!!!
Can't wait for my palico to throw cat slurs at me while not healing
i just hope the palicos also have different VA options so i can give me palicos the gruffest, deepest voice
Lets hope that wilds dont get the dragons dogma Treatment and its 30 FPS.
Would be a big downer.
