  • Created in 2023, Women’s Rodeo World Championship presented the Pam Minick Lifetime Achievement Award to a female leader who, during her lifetime, has made contributions of outstanding significance to the field of western sports.
For the inaugural year, Pam Minick was presented the award by Fort Worth’s Mayor, Maddie Parker and WRWC Commissioner Linsay Rosser Sumpter, based on her impressive resume as a cowgirl herself. Born in 1955, Pam’s cowgirl roots started in high school with roping and barrel racing. She was a Nevada State Barrel Racing Champion in 1971 and later was declared Miss Rodeo America in 1973. Pam was a Calf Roping World Champion in 1982 and she continues to compete in the sport. Along with her fierce competitive nature, Pam is also a highly renowned rodeo commentator and tv personality. Her dedication to the sport has resulted in many Hall of Fame awards including the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in 2000, the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2011, the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum and Hall of Fame in 2017. She has also been presented numerous awards including the Lane Frost Award, Coca Cola Woman of the Year, National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum Tad Lucas Award, and Great Woman of Texas Award.
For years to come, WRWC will continue to honor a cowgirl that is a leader in the business world, a competitor, and someone that is committed to elevating women in the western industry.
