Great antenna... I use one along with my yeasu 817 for portable activations, I have had some great contacts. If you look closely at the elements you should be able to see a centre marker line to centralize them. Regards Paul M0TZR
yep got one on saturday delivered today cant wait to use Great video by the way .. as the instructions are naff and you helped my tremendously thank you!
Many thanks for this video. I've been a customer of "Watson" for some years. I have 2 questions : how come the reflector seems shorter than the radiator ? Can you install them in a vertical polarisation ? Cheers, 73s de F4HZN
going into senior housing. Wish store near by to shop and ask lots of questions, here on my own, Need small antenna as have nice all band all mode do not want to lose ssb and long range for local as repeaters pretty dead. Any suggestion since have to put up down and maybe inside. Like this but inside???
It looks nice but i'm super critical (being a Dilbert) and those directors being able to slide within their saddles has me reaching for my drill. They need to be secured properly with a self tapping screw, at very least. I mean, if you are producing an antenna, surely element length, and position is paramount. no? Too often, buying an antenna results in you improving on the manufacturers design before even installing it...
But.................... Does it work...?
looks like elements have etched ring for center mark
on the elements, there is a mark that is dead center well it was on my one,

Paul Haygarth do you use a painters pole to hold it up?
I use a 7 meter long fiberglass teliscopic mast on my portable activations.

Probably the angle of photo makes it look shorter? Yes it can be used vertically but best to use fubre glass mast section. Peter

Diamond has to explain how come the reflector is shorter than the driven element..
It isnt

Once you tighten each element they won't slip out of the saddle or move around.
