Siemens NX 10 | Surface Continuity and What You Really Need to Know
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 кві 2016
- I have been seeing a lot flying around about Surface Continuity.
What are G0, G1, G2 and G3 all about?
Seems to be a lot of questions and unknowns. Here is a break down of the various continuities as well as how to start analyzing your models to make sure what you have is good.
What one analysis tool picks up may be missed by another. You need to really check what you are releasing. The shop floor will catch your errors and the data may have to be cleaned up and re-released.

For the first time i really understand the main difference between each curvature type and so how they step from one to the other. This illustration was the clearest i've seen, it speaks by itself. Thank you very very much ! Ahaha, i'm glad :D
You're good in pedagogy !

Now that is a great compliment. Many thanks. Stay tuned my surfacing brother... I have more of these videos explaining continuity coming up.
Good Explanation
Thanx again! VERY helpful!
+Roman Roman Well sir, I am honored.
Thanks for this tutorial it's well done especially for a beginner like I am, I would really appreciate if you can suggest me some books or studying material you think is good to start learning how to develop class A surface with NX. I know the CAD system but missing the basic stuff for exterior design in class A, basically I get lost in finding a way to develop surfaces. Any suggestion? Thanks a lot
do you know what is the similar option for combs and zebra reflections in catia v5? what workbench is used for these analysis? regards
+jose hernandez I will set one up this weekend.
I noticed Rhino does G4, does NX do that?
Do you know If there is displacement( relief and Textures) in this software?
Their are decals and such.
What are you looking to do?
@@ClassASurfacing I would like know if nx to do similar it> ua-cam.com/video/r_CB6-OjCLU/v-deo.html&index=8&list=PLdEbVXmKLq6HnpbIsIfwjPRAwkhtMlYGR
G2 - G3 difference in zebras is not really shown here.
You can see it. Around 9 min in.
@@ClassASurfacing I'm really having difficulties understanding the difference in quality. Yes on one the lines go "around" but what does that imply? It looks perfectly smooth but it's somehow unacceptable. Why?
It's unfortunate that you can't even keep the terms straight. Multiple times in the video you mix it up, which ends up confusing novices much more
