Good review, thanks! I just picked up this watch for $315 and it was refreshing listening to someone else appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of this watch. My only complaints are the small date window, and my start stop pusher doesn't give me a satisfying enough click when I start or stop a timer but besides that, for the price point, this watch is hard to beat!
I found that the start/stop pusher does give me a satisfying click only when starting the chronograph, but not when stopping it. Either way it is still one of my favorite watches in my collection and has some of the best lume
Good video. I own this watch and I can say it's the most comfortable watch I own. No problem with the perfect fit, and as I live in a warm climate the easy extension is perfect for when your wrist swells during the heat. Thanks for the video, this watch deserves more reviews like yours.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. It is a beautiful watch that's built like a tank. I hope I made it clear that my issues with the bracelet fit was purely subjective and probably only affects me because of my larger wrist size. From an unbiased view point compared to many other watches I've dealt with over several companies, the facts are that this is a SOLID watch.
Thanks for the great review. It's the first month today that I became a dad... Funny thing is I got the same impression about the watch-It can be my first desk diver dad piece. 😎😁
That is awesome! Congratulations! It's a rough journey for sure, but one that gets better and better over time, especially when you have a great watch on the wrist.
I just got one of these in black instead of blue for my first real quality watch. Seen it for 50% off so it was listed for $750 AUD and I got it for $375 AUD. Heard they can do for slightly less but it's rare to see a divers watch that cheap where I live. Almost bought one of the new Citzen AW1769-10E watches that look nice but really lack features. Mine is a CA0711-80H. I prefer the black and silver look as something I can wear for any occasion, it's a big chunky watch but I'm not a small guy so it works. Enjoying the value I got and the joy of having a $750 watch as my first. Had my eyes on the super titanium Citizen but goodluck finding one locally. Might guy my next online now I know this style works for me.
Thanks for this review! I like the “Dad Stuff” type of watch and this one seems to be perfect. I like the pics and the wrist views as well; gives it perspective and really shows how it would fit on a wrist. Thanks for sharing.
They screwed too many things in Citizen Promaster Tough CA0720-54H, despite the lack of screwing chronometter pushers and rotating/screwing bezel. So, this CA0710-58L is a breath of fresh air, because it does not screw you with its screwing parts, placed properly. Cool one. Thank you for the review as usual :)
The CA0720 really was an odd watch, but strangely enough I still really like it. I know that objectively it lacks things that I would consider to be important, but perhaps because it is so odd that I like it so much. Plus the bracelet is really great. But where the 0720 is an "ugly duckling", the 0710 is the swan with very few things to improve on.
Awesome watch! I love Citizen watches! I have 7 or so (Which includes a Signature Touring automatic and it keeps great time). I feel you get a lot of watch for what you pay for. This review was spot on. Also subbed. Great channel! Cheers!
Couldn't agree more! Citizens have reliably provided me excellent watches at a great price (when compared to similar quality watches from other brands). Thanks for watching and glad to have you in my community!
Guys from Citizen definitely know their job. Weight is not a problem, put an elastic strap and problem solved, and your wrist feels good in the evening. Great watch, great price, great value for money. You know Simucom what Citizen says....''FUNCTION IS BEAUTY''....i agree with them 1000%, that's exactly what i'm looking for from any watch. Like
Citizen Promaster watches are always impressive. Pound for pound they are the most reliable with the least amount of maintenance, and also probably some of the best "everyday" watches you can find on the market.
Every time you release a video I always think, that guy and me have identical taste in watches. I love your collection. Citizen is so so underrated IMO. Their fit and finish and value is just streets ahead of others like Seiko. Their divers and aviation watches (Skyhawk line) are really neat,
Great minds think alike!😁 I agree with you. I started this journey as a Seiko loyalist but I began to realize Citizen actually is the star of the show. I love my Seikos but the build quality, reliability, and longevity of Citizens is a cut above other "mid-level" watches.
@@degenerateWA this is so true, I love Seiko but their new pricing strategy along with the repeated QC issues are just such a turn off. I feel like San Martin makes nicer Seiko watches than Seiko. With much better parts and finishing and none of the misaligned bezels and other issues.
Hi, thank you for the fantastic video , definitely love the quick adjustment feature and the blue dial , does anyone knows the difference between this watch ( CA0710-58L ) and CA0710-82L ? I'm just curious
I think Citizen has always given a lot of watch for the money. Their watches are normally very consistent with solid build quality and great timekeeping reliability.
I have a green version of it. The lume is very good, but some very important "diving" functionality is very poor you have to screw down the pushers before you go down into water. The finish of the pushers is slippery,as that of the crown , which you have to check before diving. And the crown is too small as well. I have another Citizen diver, with properly sized and finished crown. I am trying to figure out how to make the pushers and the crown more user friendly.
Late to the party, but i feel like the adjuster where the clasp is at is for divers that run wet suits, not nessisarly for adjusting to wrist size. the wetsuit can be from 1-7mm thick so having that adjustment can save an arm from being squeezed IMO.
If you still have the watch, could you try pressing the lower pusher button while the chronograph hand is running, to see whether it has a split timer function like Seikos or will it just reset?
This watch does not have a split time function. The lower pusher is used only for resetting the chronograph and adjusting the chrono hands if they get knocked out of place.
Not that I know of. Just doing a quick google search I can only assume that the main difference is the country of manufacture/sale? It would seem that maybe the 82L is for the European market but the overall design looks the same as the 58L.
I do have a "metal digital watch" collection video. I haven't considered a SOTC video (just didn't think anyone would be interested in it). Who knows, if I get enough requests for one then I can definitely see myself doing one in the future.
Actually I'm sorry, I'm confusing my watches now. I saw "Citizen CA0720" not "CA0710" so I was thinking about a totally different watch. You're absolutely correct, however even with the half-link I was not able to get a perfect fit for my wrist. But that's a very nitpicky assessment on my end. It still fits, but I would have preferred a micro adjust on top of the extension. Still a fantastic watch.
@@degenerateWA So far I have 3 of them, my first one was bought at Nordstrom and since then...I fell in love with the brand. Hear a lot of good things from the Citizen brand, never heard anything bad about them.
It acts like a stop watch, it's the chronograph feature. I think it's designed to run for a certain amount of time as it can drain the battery cell really fast. The big bottom dial is your actual second hand which threw me for a while when wanting to tell exact time.
I have no idea how that stuff works. I'll get notifications on uploads from channel's I'm subbed to but they were uploaded a few days ago. No worries man, whether you watch my vids the same day or later it's still appreciated.
Just got the green one today. I’m in love. It’s my 3rd watch in my collection and I cannot be happier
Excellent, great choice👌
Thank you, I have this watch and I also swell sometimes, I had no idea that the strap could adjust but now I do. Fell in love with my watch again.
Awesome, glad I could show that feature to you👍

It's called a Diver's extension and it is used for the wetsuit when you go scuba diving.

I agree about the clicks! Nice watch and great review
Much appreciated
Nice video!
And very nice looking dive watch.
PS: Adjustable band designed to fit over a wet-suit when diving in cooler waters.

I love this watch it's very comfortable and beautiful it's my cheapest watch in my collection but I wear it more than any of my other watches
I've found that price is not indicative of wear-time.

Thanks for watching! I'm glad others share my thoughts on the whole "dad watch" thing.
This watch is a perfect example of classic sport watch. Calling this watch a "dad's watch" is insutling.

What. a. gem! I've just discovered it but dayum, gotta have it :D !
It's a solid watch👍
Appreciate introducing to this hunk of a watch. Will it look too big on small 6.5 inch wrists?
I think it will but that's not a bad thing IMO. Just depends on your preference on wrist to watch proportions.
Great review and now I want this watch !

Good video thanks
Is the bottom pusher only used for resetting, or does it also have the split timer function?

Does it have split time like the ssc watches from seiko ?

Hi regarding the fit of your watch. Mine has a half link for a better fit. Didn't you buy yours brand new
Brand new. And there isn't a half link, at least on mine. I measured before I adjusted to make sure.

I paid 175 for my Citizen Promaster.......was this a good deal?? its pretty much brand new.
I'd say that's a solid deal. IMO you're getting a lot for that price.
@@degenerateWA So far I have 3 of them, my first one was bought at Nordstrom and since then...I fell in love with the brand. Hear a lot of good things from the Citizen brand, never heard anything bad about them.
Is there a dual time version of this? I want a dual time/chrono/rotating timer bezel...
I don't believe Citizen has a GMT chronograph. I could be wrong; I've never seen one.
What is the difference between the CA0710-82L and the CA0710-58L?
No idea, they look identical to me. Maybe country of manufacture? I know in other brands that last part of the model number delineates the country.
When i reset the big second hand it’s working for a while and then its stop again! 🤔

wish they put ceramic bezels and sapphire on there dive watches to put them over the top. Seems like mineral crystal is such a low grade option.
Sapphire definitely. Especially because sapphire is not as special as many put it out to be, so no excuse not to use it.
Hey just bought this watch but I don’t get how to change the time on it feel dumb af
It’s an hour behind
Did you unscrew the crown and pull it all the way out to the second position?
😂
I wish it had sapphire glass
