Make the DACA people legal after EVERY other illegal is repatriated
As long as you are a DACA recipient you can work and study. Don't despair. The government must find a solution . It would be impossible to deport 700,000 DACA recipients. It's not good for the economy or the immigrants. That would be a lose lose proposition. DACA recipients work and contribute to the economy. They pay social security and taxes as anyone else. For all practical purposes they are already american.

DACA is good but their parents are criminals, and criminals need to be punished accordingly to make this whole thing fair.
You must’ve lived a very privileged life. Must be a Boomer. You clearly have no idea the psychological toll this kind of precarity takes on a human being. Not knowing if you’ll be evicted in a month, or deported in a year… not having agency in your own life. Doing everything right and still getting fucked. Here’s what you don’t get. This country isn’t worth the fight. The American dream is leaving America.
Canada will give you permanent residency status in as little as 15 months as a skilled worker. It’s a fair, objective, points-based system. You do what they expect of you, learn their languages, get the degrees they want, turn in your assault rifles, and you’re welcomed as a full citizen with equal rights. Why in god’s name would you stay in this shithole country as a second class citizen, where a ride in an ambulance can bankrupt you? I hate it here so much.
This made me cry. As a black American, I know how discrimination and lack of opportunities affect others, so I hate seeing people not get a chance.

Illegal immigration isnt a crime its a civil infraction like speeding. I geuss we should deport everyone that gets a speeding ticket as well.
Where did they come from?
I hear alot of "we don't mind immigrants but if they come here legally" I hope you understand that it takes alot of money and is time consuming, it's not given to you by a snap of your fingers. Also hear "immigrants are cared for better then our Americans" not true! Immigrants are basically on there own with little to no help. Everything is "US citizens" you qualify. Learn that the American dream is alot of sacrifice
Yet in Mexico, it is illegal to work if you are not Mexican, its simply not possible. But Mexicans (and others) coming here want every opportunity. Sickening how our borders are not secure, and very enlightening to learn how other countries protect their borders/jobs/way of life from foreignors, both legal and illegal. U.S. taxpayers deserve better on all fronts.
Its not easy let me just break the law .There are a lot of immigrants around the globe who do it legally and wait for their turn. Don't normalise crime.

Self deportation is not a bad thing. In 2023, the world is a different place than their parents' generation. Other countries have better systems that the US and aren't as underdeveloped as American media makes them out to be. One of my best friends self deported. Ten years later, she bought two houses in her home country and paid off her car. Can American millennials living in the US even afford such luxuries? The best part is...her education was funded by American taxpayers and didn't receive a single dime from her. Now she's paying taxes in another country and living it up.

They didn't either. They were brought here as young children by their parents. They didn't choose anything. And if you had actually watched the video, you would know that many of them are educated professionals, they're doctors and lawyers and social workers. They pay taxes, they make our country better. It's completely absurd to suggest that we should send doctors and lawyers that were educated here to Canada just because our government can't process reality.
@Bipolar Ferret don't worry the border jumpers will get whatever they want and then thumb their noses at people trying to come in legally
They can go back home then. They have a choice to do so. They are adults. They don't have to stay here and the U.S. doesn't need to give anything.

How does moving to Canada count as "self-deportation"? Self-deportation in these cases should refer to going back to Mexico.. if they're going to Canada, it technically counts as immigrating there.. lol
