So cool that SCC won your best overall of 2022! We absolutely loved it in June '23. Seaweed was an issue but the food, service and overall vibe of the resort was perfect. I didn't want to go to a high rise resort on a public beach and SCC was the best place for that. I'm always turned off by the resorts that have a small beach area and how you have to walk a ways to get to it from your room. The size and layout was perfect.
I hope you'll consider doing this every year! What a fun way to reflect on the travels you took
I agree. I LOVED Secrets Cap Cana!!! So happy I stumbled upon your channel after we booked. Great videos & tips. I felt like you captured the essence of the resort. (The candy was a huge hit!!!) The service was incredible, food/drinks wew delicious & resort was beautiful. Loved all the little extra touches.....popsicle & crepes cart. I would definitely go back. Thanks!!!

Shocking that Secrets Akumal won for entertainment. They must have really stepped up over the years. When we were there about 4 years ago they never had any music or entertainment around the pool area. My wife likes music and entertainment around the pool and they had NOTHING ! early in the morning they put exercise bikes in the pool next to the swim up bar and had a class but that was it. Thanks for the video. You guys are always very honest, down to earth and relatable.

Another excellent, fun and informative video - loved it, surprised Mexico did not get the prize, as used to be head and shoulders ahead of the rest for AI resorts, I am guessing the Dominican Republic and Jamaica must have pulled out all the stops to get back in the game! Wondering when will you be announcing your next getaway location as cannot wait, almost as good as going on hols ourselves! 😁😎✈
Mexico is still my favorite destination to visit! The Mexican people just know how to spoil their guests. We are going back in February for a long weekend, but I’m still hashing out the resort based on clients i have staying. It will likely be TRS Coral or Hilton Tulum. I have both booked for now 😊
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel wow, fingers crossed for TRS Coral as I popped in there for a brief visit last month and have it pencilled in for next year, so would adore to see your expert review of it prior to that. I love the idea of those water taxis rather than golf cards and also having all the amenities of the Grand Palladium thrown it too really appeals. Having said that, with Tulum Airport hopefully up and running for 2024 the Hilton Tulum would also be very interesting, especially without the long drive. Suffice to say will be looking very much forward to whichever the winner is 😎🌴😘 Just saw the latest reviews for the Hilton Tulum and saw it is family oriented rather than Adults only, so keeping my fingers crossed for TRS Coral.

Cap Cana 100%, yes. Akumal no, unless the upgrade cost is quite low.

We were at Secrets Cap Cana and really enjoyed it but noticed we never felt a buzz after tons of drinks….do you think all Secrets water down their drinks?
I don't, but if you do, ask for a double and always call your liquor!
My husband and I really LOVE your videos! :) We are Preferred Club members and we are thinking about going to Secrets Cap Cana this summer, which was your number one resort for 2022.... but we saw in a previous video that you mentioned there is smoking at that resort (near pools and in outdoor areas) - How bad is the smoking issue there? Would you still recommend us going? We are non-smokers. Thanks sooooo much!
For me it was real bad, but the clientele changed weekly. I’ll definitely go back and give it another shot, because I loved it that much.
We never had any issues with smokers when we were there. I think it really varies by guest.

What happened to Atelier Playa Mujeres? You were both giving rave reviews.
We didn’t visit Atelier in 2022.
The only secret resort I stayed at is secrets capri which is no longer a secret resort any more. I still think that was my best all inclusive experience. Now I have two kids I can no longer go to secrets resorts any more. Do you think dreams is comparable? Any good dreams resorts you can recommend?

Dreams Natura in Mex.
Hyatt Ziva in the DR is a great resort for familes, as well.
I'm a little surprised at final choice. Traditionally dom rep resorts aren't quite as good for food or entertainment as mexico. At least in my experiences, I thought the new flagship secrets moxche would've blown everything else away, maybe they just need to work out a few new resort kinks and then they'll be flying
It will never blow me away, even once they get in the swing of things. Too many design/architecture choices that I didn’t like. No preferred bar, no main bar, small main pool, etc. Plus the beach will never beat Maroma or Akumal. It’s a great resort, but not a favorite of mine. That works out because I can I can only have so many favorites 😊
