Perfect. Pigeon spaying is an underdiscussed EDC task.
Its so awesome to know that my favorite knife guys on UA-cam watch each other's channels and comment! Love this community!
Would be awesome to see Nick and Pete and BirdshotIV and the Dutchbushcraftknives and Cliff Stamp and supersteelsteve and sliceydicey do a much better version of youtube rewind lol
@@poopshootpoop7531 You left out AKB. Do you even UA-cam knife, bro?
@@starkparker16 oh my you're right, I've left out several important people but Advance knife bro is one of my new favorites!
@@starkparker16 i forgot Big Brown Bear as well
I’m with Uncle Randy on this. I mean his arguments are wrong, but that mustache gets him such an air of authority.
Uncle Randy is an expert sausage skinner from back in his teen years, he knows his tradition and culture like no one does.
Lol.. Pete, I will never be able to look at screaming melty guy again without seeing that awesome buck clip instead.
Your ApostleP impression is spot on, btw.
Hahaha, I don't know how I missed this years ago. Hilarious. If you are an American over 50 you have to love Uncle Randy.
Holly crap! That "Listen You Young Fellers" dude at the end got me laughing my ass off:D
Thank you for always turning the videos 180 degrees for us Americans. Love ur vids!
I had an uncle named Randy. He was pretty damn cool. Also, this Randy makes a good point about tight pants.
Thanks Pete great video loved the last few minutes I will have to start linking to this in response to the comments I get all too frequently.
Me too!
A loveley modern take on an old favourite. Design, aesthetics and materials are much improved and the lightness compared to the original is a definate bonus. The crowning glory for this knife though is clearly that excellent pocket clip. Wide enough not to dig into the hand during use, short enough not to be too obvious during every day carry and the 'proud' retention screws ensure that the knife will never fall out of the pocket. That lovely anvil logo cut into it is the icing on the cake. Absolute genius from the Buck design team.
Pete - you’ve really stepped up on production, dialogue, transitions, and overall presentation. I tip my hat to you. Only thing I’d say is if the new level of effort gets unwieldy, don’t be afraid to post less polished vids. You’re a gem in any format!
Aaaaaaa wwwwwwwwww how cute
Thumbs up for uncle Randy's sick mustache and well reasoned arguments! Uncle Bucket, Uncle Randy, please tell me you have more crazy Uncles in reserve Pete, please!
Pete doing an American accent is one of my favorite things in his videos. Uncle Randy deserves a standing ovation.
Simply love your description on the clip! Great video Matey!
I just discovered this. It really reminds me of years ago, when I made the mistake of buying a knife without asking my dad his opinion. He was hurt and insulted.. while I did much research and settled on a Benchmade.. when I told him I was going to buy it he had to bring out his 30-40 year old Schrade and Buck knives to prove his knife wisdom was above mine. Weeks later he apologized, admired my knife and laughed that his ego got the better of him. He went and bought a dope Benchmade that suited his needs and loves it.
This was nothing less than amazing. Some great comedic writing here.
Some time ago, I was watching the "1972 woodsman", and he convinced me to re-try the Buck (in the "Lite" version) and I was totally disappointed in Buck once again. This Buck that you are reviewing has caught my attention, & I might give it a try if I can get around that pocket clip. Your videos have become world class...thank-you for your honesty & sense of humor.
(Edit: I couldn't stop watching the "wanderin' 'stash ")
Hahaha! Wow greetings from U.S. Georgia. Pete I am shocked by the accent great job. You sound like my uncle. His name is Randy. I carry a broken skull. Picked it up after watching your cut test. Tell your uncle Randy the Cold Steel is endorsed by Stone Cold Steve Austin that should fix everything. Thank you for the video. Cheers.
"In mathematics and physics, a brachistochrone curve, or curve of fastest descent, is the one lying on plane between a point A and a lower point B, where B is not directly below A, on which a bead slides frictionlessly under the influence of a uniform gravitational field to a given end point in the shortest time"
Holy shit, I'm impressed
Pete, I think you nailed it with uncle Randy. You covered pretty much all the main arguments of Buck 110 fans. LAMAO
Living on the edge eh Pete? This might be your most inspired madness yet...
First one of your vids I've seen. Outstanding. The Uncle Randy bit is priceless and hilariously accurate. New sub 💪
Your American southern accent is really good. Uncle Randy's manerisms and word choice... I've met that guy in real life many times. Also, that pocket clip triggers my gag reflex.
I think there needs to be a "this clip looks like" UA-cam challenge. I promise you that if dozens of UA-camrs dedicate time to mocking that ugly clip, Buck will change it out. Also, Uncle Randy needs his own show.
Never thought I’d see a brachistochrone curve mentioned in a knife video. Kudos sir.
Btw, your Southern American accent is pretty good.
Lol. I was running my sink during the video and when I faintly heard your "Uncle Randy" impression I thought autoplay somehow had been switched on and a Zelrick review had begun after your video.
Oh shit, Pete, this is your best yet!
Uncle Randy makes some great points.
Superb review!
Thanks mate, totally enjoyed that Vid. Awesome ending, had me and the Mrs laughing bigtime
That's it! You have to make Uncle Randy Rebuttals for all your reviews now!
You should create Uncle Randy's Knife Review Channel.
Or make him a recurring character. That was awesome.
Good to see you pete. Great vid!!
Good review, again. Thanks for the information. I love Uncle Randy. You should have him on more. lol
I will never unsee the pocket clip in so many other views now!
Uncle Randy is the best!! Video was hilarious Pete 2 thumbs up 👍 👍
I'm glad to see that you are also going insane at approximately the same rate as me.
I'm writing down quotes from Uncle Randy. This is gold.
Special thanks to Uncle Randy 😁
Loved it !!!
The end of this video, just made my Day! I do Cary the s35vn dlt buck 110 and love the tradition of it, but it is truly not a great edc due to size and weight. I still love it though. In the words of fiddler on the roof, “tradition”.
The 110 select is my favorite buck knife. you get good geometry and the best 420HC for about $30. For any more than that I wouldn’t want riveted construction.
Hilarious as usual, love uncle randy. Great review of the good and bad. Thnx
We need more Uncle Randy in the future
Uncle Randy reminds me of that big giant NRA building I live across town from. Good parody, and I hope he reviews some more of your stuff.
Great video Pete. Proves what those of us fortunate to have been born in the good ol US of A have always known...if it ain't made in Murikah, it ain't worth shit!!
I agree I like the traditional buck 110 A lot I have a really old one my grandfather gave me but at the same time I like the idea that they’re moving into the future with everyone else they now offer something for everybody the traditional people and modern people
I agreed with you on every point, except the new blade profile..... I wish I could get one with the old clip point design.... that’s why I went with the broken skull instead
Don't forget the Buck variants from Copper & Clad. PS few of us have been trying to tell Buck on bladeforums to release a 110 with the Vantage/Marksman style clip for a couple of years.
The broken 💀 isn't made in America, but the fit and finish is better, even at the lower price. Also, it has a stronger lock, can be taken apart, and has more blade. Value wise, it's an easy choice.
But yeah, old heads will love the buck.
I approve of uncle Randy's opinions on the Buck 110! And tight pants.
im a buck fan ... anything that has been around this long has done so for a very good reasons .. as with the ka bar knife
Entertaining as always. Great job!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 I think you’re too intelligent for some of the members of this community! Personally I love your sense of humor! Is it any way possible to bring “Cedric” back? His accent was freakin hilarious! 😂😂😂😂
3 years later they fixed all the issues with this knife, although they increased the price but i do like it a lot, especially the orange g10 version
The pocket clip is a great design. It comes with screws so you can choose to take it off and throw it away. They could have made a nice modern belt sheath instead. Just an idea.
Came here expecting to hear a rant about skinny Jeans. And I left laughing. Haha. 😂👌 never seen one of your videos before, but I gotta say good job on this one, m8.
Best video ever. Uncle Randy for President!
really loving the new logo
I think Buck just about perfected the pocket clip on the Vantage range, then they made this one, what the hell where they thinking,
Uncle Randy is the man
This was the best! Thank you.
Oh my God Pete I can't breathe. I don't think I've ever seen a more perfect and hysterical parody of Buck 110 owners (of which I am one). The rest of the video is great but doesn't hold a candle to Uncle Randy. And that clip is a deal breaker sorry to say.
Uncle randy videos are the best
Uncle Randy is magical.
so good .Randy...so very very good!
Ain't the first time Buck has made a micarta handled 110. Had one in 1974, it was the 112??? Anyway smaller. Lost it dang it! Great knife for the time!
Uncle Randy is the greatest knife reviewer of all time
One troll to rule them all. I like your style sir.
So, can you overclose the blade and dull it on the frame like the classic 110?
I was trying to figure out what that hole in the clip was. Call me ignorant but I could not figure out what that is. Now that I see it, I agree with you. I knew I would not like screws, they’ll eventually tear up my pocket.
I love the 110 design but I've returned every one I've bought. Just can't seem to find one that has good centering and lockup. Sometimes one or the other but never both.
God I hate the clip and the off center blade, had to send mine in and i am looking for any clip replacement dont care if its a.benchmade or crkt clip , but meh love the micarta and the blade!, great review , and the 110 and the swiss army knife where my first , and i have over 100 buck knives , mostly 110 in all the different types . great work!
i cannot unsee the pocket clip monster.
What kind of bearings are in it? Is it OK for water? I can’t find it anywhere.
there should be a prize fr funniest review--this was freaking classic...
Don't tell anyone but i think the spyderco clip screw pattern works on this knife. Just in case you wanted to swap the clip or something
That would be a cool head to head with the broken skull. I wonder if it can touch xhp? I’ll bet it can’t even withthe special ht
Bet you could open a beer with that clip
Try the Benchmade Mini Crooked River!!! I have it and love it!
Holding out for the Buck 110 LW Micarta Auto in m4 steel
not sure about thumb studs on a buck knife. I get that they wanted to update from the nail nick, but i wish they'd done something else
Great review. I still have my Dad’s old Buck 110 from the early eighties. It’s a great knife, but definitely a belt carry only piece. If I am going to belt carry I’d rather have a fixed blade. This seems like a step in the right direction towards a modern iteration of this knife, but it still seems they have a ways to go. The benchmade crooked river variants would be my choice if I wanted a modern variation of this style.
Are you going to be reviewing the Shaman and the Amalgam? I am currently debating my next purchase and those are two I am keen on.
buck is better than anything you mentioned.
I still really want the 5160 carbon steel drop point 110. I don't care if it weighs half a pound. This micarta one is cool, I just wish it had skeletonized steel liners and and adjustable pivot.
Do you think that para spyderco is a better knife than the buck slim you have their .post me and let me know what you think.
Kershaw chill or a buck 110 in 420hc what's more fun, your talking about stuff I love and value your videos.
Great review! Uncle Randy, "priceless"! Lol! Atb Sean
Uncle Randy , you crack me up Sir!
I think I learned about the brachistochrone curve from Hey VSauce! Michael here!
People go crazy over that pocket clip. The fact of the matter is that buck has some of the best clips in the industry (vantage pro) and this one is just fine. Deep carry, not unnecessarily long.
We still make things in the USA wow lol the Buck brothers come from Kansas!
Is that on oven burn on top of your wrist? Sizzle.
Buck 110 is the Blockbuster of the knife world.
Folks with Girl Hands can train hard and move up to the 110 by starting with a 112 LOL
One second thought maybe the handle was phanalic resin like on their fixed blades but with milled ridges?
how's the action on that thing? My experiences were not so good with most bucks recently I had bought a buck Vantage from SK blades with the Micarta handle scales and cpm-20cv but absolutely garbage action
Man. Why do people have to always get upset when things are gradually improved? Pretty much all pocket knives, have pocket clips because it was a great idea. Innovation isn't something to get mad at.
Love the uncle randy character btw. He's had such a character arc.
You go Uncle Randy!
Cts xhp on the broken skull takes a crazy edge that would be an advantage over most s30v
Thats what i hear. Cold steels xhp was a1
convex a1 huh
Magnum Mountaineer yup great steel sharpens to an awesome edge holds it for a long enough time and is fairly tough
Magnum Mountaineer yeah good steel if ht right that’s the advantage of a simpler steel chemically they take a great edge and are fairly tough they also hold a different kind of sharpness shaving sharpness better then s110v which tend to hold a working edge better a steel like s110v will cut for a longer time in total until it goes dull however that’s the advantage to steels like xhp they stay at a high sharpness longer
@@convex7456 Really disappointed they moved away from CTS-XHP on the Code4 before I could purchase one.
You had me rolling in this video!
I like what you're cooking sir but I've been subbed haha
Definitely gotta pick one up
James Iliffe a pretty safe get, IMO 👍🏻
The original one is great and I hope they keep making it. But I like most all of the new ones too. But that pocket clip is just bad. I think they could put a bottle opener there instead of the anvil logo hole.
