Back in the day. Me& a few homies was walking in the comedy store. Glenn was near the door. 1of my homies said: O/G Killer Bobby Johnson. He looked us up&down, noticed alot of red. He said "nah, High-Top". We all fell out laughing.
Yoooo, I was born in California, but my moms moved my sister and I with her to Charlotte NC when we were kids. But I went back to California for college(USC), and one night me and this girl I was dating went to a Barnes &Noble in Studio City and Glenn was there just chillin, drinking coffee and reading a book. I was like IT’S HIGH-TOP OG KILLER BOBBY JOHNSON!!! The chick I was with was less impressed cause she grew up in LA. So she was used to seeing stars all the time all over town. I wasn’t so I was tripping. Homie was SOOOO NICE. He saw me looking at him and noticed my USC t-shirt and invited us to his table to talk. Really cool brother frfr!!!
I’m 42, was 7 when colors came out and 11 when South Central came out. They both blew my mind seeing LA life during those times. Certified Classics!! 🫡
I remember him in South Central ( and what a performance too ) I also remember the Corner ( have both of these films on dvd ) this was a good interview.Don't see too many people interview Glenn,Charles Dutton,Clifton Powell,etc,etc,..
Glen Plummer is a hood legend for his roles in multiple classic gangsta/hustla type movies. Btw, Big Court, your knowledge of Colors is on point. Great interview as usual. Happy Holidays and Salute to you both. 🫡
Glenn Plumber was also dope on the classic show 'ER' too. He had some funny and witty lines on there. This is an informative and entertaining interview of this legend 💐. Thanks, Holdin' Court. 👊🏿💪🏿👍🏿💯
Incredible story. This is what you call puttin' your boys on! Glenn looked out for his people even though he was fresh in the business himself. That's a true friend right there.
We appreciate your quality interviews. Your approach is much more intelligent than these other podcasts stirring ish up all the time. Keep up the great work…Salute 🫡
man fck this is excellent here. glad i click on this. you do a good job of interviewing not over talking folks and just letting them tell their story. gotta watch this one fo show. keep doin yo thang bro.
My wife before she passed about 6 years ago used to tell me stories how she was in the Wizz with Glen I believe in Richmond ca. She was Dorthy, always said dude was cool
I remember South Central. It definitely changed my outlook on African-American culture in California. This is coming from a kid firing off Glocks in Kentucky in early 90's. I also got respect for Gary Indiana black folks. Keep it true no matter what you do.
A classic case in point. Anglo Saxons work together to our detriment. That movie wanted to encourage Anglo-Saxons in law enforcement to use brutality when dealing with us, and induce fear in our community. I've heard this story from Glenn Plummer before.
Respect All The Way…. Glenn Plummer, Don Cheadle, Damon Wayans, Leon, Grand L. Bush, and etc. (RIP) Frog From 21st Street, he died right after the movie. Killed by drunk driver.
Hey Court, not trying to be "that guy" but just a heads up that Glenn's last name is spelled wrong at the beginiing of the video. Should be Plummer instead of Plumber. Regardless, it's awesome that you got him on your pod! 💪🙌
I was actually on set when Glenn and Sean did the fight scene in the kitchen of the restaurant. I was doing extra/background work back then. The fight scene was so intense, you literally would have thought they were fighting for real. I also remember that Madonna came to the set to see Sean on that day. They were still married at that time. The set was on location at a restaurant down a block from Venice Beach, California. When Madonna got ready to leave the set, me and Sean's brother Chris (RIP) escorted Madonna down to a parking lot where she parked. She was driving a cold-blooded black Mercedes Benz 450SL convertible. As we were walking down the block, people started to recognize who she was, and started going absolutely crazy! Me and Chris joked afterwards that we might have had to do some serious bodyguard work to protect her. Madonna was a super. super star music artist back then.

I think Glenn was the first person on film to wear a pair of Jordan's with an Adidas sweat suit. Peace to Charles S Dutton and the cast from The Corner.
It's well-documented that Sean Penn was a real dick at that point in his life -- with co-stars, with the paparazzi, with everyone (including marriages & relationships)....And on top of that he is a really intense actor who was known to stay in character for the entire movie, even after the director said "CUT". I'm sure his method of staying in character was a real blast when he was playing Spicoli, not so much when playing McGavin LoL....Glad that he's grown older, wiser, dropped the dickishness & kept the acting skills & chops. Colors is such a classic -- never gets mentioned as a hood film, I guess cuz it deals with the entire city of hoods. Everyone in the flick is on-point.

Dude Glenn Plumber is such an underrated actor, the Oscar’s are full of shit, this guy is a winner through and through. His performance in South Central needs to be recognized.
If you watch the scene in Colors Glenn is talking about very closely where he had to take off running down down the alley to escape from Sean Penn, if you look to the left you can see for a split second Sean standing there ready to run after him instead of him getting out of the car to run after him. It's a movie mistake the film editors missed.
