Saw the song list and had to immediately listen to the RG varNam. My most favourite varNam, but rarely sung by any singer. The last time I heard it live was by Sanjay in Auckland, a few years back. Listening to it again at 4 am in Auckland now is like making another long awaited trip to Heaven.
The way Sanjay gets into his element with focus, grace and command is a treat to watch. What stands out is the camaraderie and respect the three vidwans share among each other. To transcend to another realm through music is one thing but to mesmerise and take the audience along requires a blessed talent and practiced skill with the intelligence to know what the audience expect. Words fail me to describe the magical phenomenon @sanjaysub's music creates with ease and grace. I do not have the knowledge or skill or authority to even talk about something as grand as this talent. Just loads of gratitude that I live in the same era as this music. If someone with just a couple of years of Carnatic training can appreciate the beauty of nuances, be awed by the elaborate RTP and get drawn to some element in each song , the credit truly lies in the artist who has carefully curated such a beautiful list of songs and taken care to address the expectations of every Rasika. Special thanks for the Thiruvallikeni dhivya Desam pasuram which will always be etched in memory. It felt like a virtual darshan and trip to my favourite temple. The whole presentation and effort stands out as always. The music stirs a kaleidoscope of emotions within and as you navigate through it mindfully, you find the elusive inner peace.
