    Not long enough Chris, needed a lot more. Love your SDC and your hi-banker, mainly because we're not allowed them (hi-bankers), here in Qld.
    Grizz wasn't impressed with his snowball at all and spat it before it could melt, making it a Grizz spitball :)

    Another great video. The SDC is a great detector for backpacking into remote places. Make sure you get a Lucky Knuckle Protector and also throw the Minelab batteries in the bin and get a set of rechargeable batteries that have a larger positive terminal to stop it restarting every time you bump it. Gets annoying real fast....

      @@VoGusProspecting yeah, I'm surprised minelab hasn't updated the battery in the sdc, they still sell enough of them to warrant the update. Still, way lighter than my 4500, even with an extra set of batteries in tow.

    I would be sure to check all your tailings in that area. There are areas here in U.S. along the Appalachian mountains where the gold ends up with layer of something black on it that you need a brush to get it off to see the gold underneath.

    Hey that's awesome, I recently got myself an SDC and found a 1g nugget on my 2nd outing so I know the feeling of elation you would have been going through! So far I've found 7 little nuggies in total, 3.3g in total and I haven't even gone to a proper gold field yet just a couple creeks that I know has some chunky stuff though mostly flogged... so the SDC was a great choice to make mate. Hopefully the first of many finds!
    Also just a suggestion... one of the best investments I made on top of my SDC was to get the SP01 (by SteelPhase) booster/filter, along with the Audio Adapter Lead and a good set of head phones (if you don't have one already as the stock headphones are pretty crap). With the SP01 I can get it so there is virtually no background noise at all, only audio I get is a signal. Have picked up multiple tiny tiny steel shots like this which I know I would have struggled to hear had it not been for this audio setup!

Makes me happy I just recently bought myself an SDC (was tossing up between that and 4500)... already found 7 little nuggets totaling 3.3g and I'm up in far north QLD, didn't even look in any of the proper gold fields yet. :D

    Best portable Gold Machine ever. And boy does it love species.
    My tip. Get the cover and wrap the headphone cable through velcro so as not to tug on the headphone plug. A known weak point. Keep it at 2 no matter what anyone says and use headphones religiously.

    • @VoGusProspecting
      @VoGusProspecting  5 років тому +2

      Personal choice is all it comes down to.
      Both will do an amazing job, they are both high end detectors. Biggest thing you need to do is look at what you want to achieve with a machine.
      SDC is a rugged, transportable, water/weather proof unit that EMI cancels like a boss, turn on and go unit. But lacks fine tuning and hardware options.
      4500 way more choice in how the unit runs making it overall more versatile. But it's fiddly, costs more and isn't as good at EMI canceling or water proofing.
      Pick what you want to do and choose the machine that suits.

      @VoGusProspecting  5 років тому +1

      I like idiot machines, turn it on and go. No fiddly tuning or set up, wont mater if i drown it, can use it under power lines, in the rain, etc

    • @RustyCandyAdventures
      @RustyCandyAdventures 5 років тому

      Thanks for your response. I am going to look forward to see what you find. A few years ago i went to a farm with bush land. Walking with the owner, i was shown to be careful. There was stick fallen from trees. A small hole. But it was a long drop mine. Then one after another there was more. So from there on i have been careful. If i get a chance i go for another look around. Remember to keep it ground balanced. Ground balanced is not the ground but power ground and you use the ground up and down movement to set the zero point with the noise that comes from the ground to help set the op amps. I worked on strain gauge amps for a few years and made a silicone chip detector. Russell

    • @RustyCandyAdventures
      @RustyCandyAdventures 5 років тому

      The 4500 needs to be checked for case ground to circuit board ground. The coating on case can stop the grounding. You can get a filter to help electric transmitter lines filtering. Russell.

    • @VoGusProspecting
      @VoGusProspecting  5 років тому

      Two completely different machines. I'm making a video on this subject, but for now...
      The SDC is a high end unit. It does not chatter like the GM, it can handle hotter ground, it punches deeper. But it's 4 times the cost of the GM and the GM will find smaller gold.
