I'm just gonna say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to whoever kept Phil Hartman's voice at the beginning. In a way, it's like he was performing with Mike and Dana in spirit.
Hearing Phil Hartman as the announcer in the beginning made me nostalgic and sad at the same time. Him, Belushi, and Farley were sorely missed on this episode
The minute you see that drawing of a cameraman and hear Phil Hartman, you know the WW logo is coming and you start screaming “Wayne’s World!” They were my spirit animals.
When Wayne would lose a couple of pounds he would look the same as in 1992/3 :) Garth is almost the same, but you can see his by his cheeks that he got older
Garth has an old man's quiver in his voice. They both do. God, this is unintentionally depressing, like Wayne and Garth are still doing their public access show in their 60s.
Point of reference, remember that Mike Meyers was standing next to Kanye West on a telethon in 2005 when Kanye said, "George Bush does not care about black people."
@@Danimal77 you realize you're totally wrong? this was for the SNL 40th anniversary special which came out in 2015, over 20 years AFTER the movie came out.
Hey I know this is a bit of a necrobump but- The movie came out in '92 when they started doing the sketch in '89. [They did the sketch for 2 years before the movie, then did *this scene* in '15.] Stay Hydrated.
Apparently Carvey would do the Lorne impression a lot backstage and when Meyers made Austin powers he pretty much stole his impression and used it as dr.evil. He gave an interview with Howard stern about it and they hadn’t been that close afterwards but they’re on better terms now as evident by this sketch they did during the 40th
I used to think I was born just in time for everything to go to crap, but then the 2000's happened. My own personal life sucked so bad in the 90's that if I had a time machine, I would go back to 1983 and punch my mom in the uterus to prevent my birth. Then, in the 2000's, the world around me went to shit too. Now, in the 2010s, I wish I could single handedly end the world because I can't go an hour without being reminded just how bad everything has gotten. I legit hope to be dead in a year or two, because the 2020s will probably be worse than hell itself. We'll all be watching "Dwayne's Underworld" and be on too many pills trying to cope with the latest national tragedy or entitled political group to notice the reference.
I think it could work if it's revealed that Wayne's World is a coma-induced lucid dream that both Wayne and Garth are experiencing; where it's always the late '80s / early '90s and they're forever young and influence the world with reality-altering effect. Then they wake up and realize decades have passed. Most of the movie is them adjusting to this bizarre world until, finally, they go back to "Wayne's World".
Do you guys realize they were like the UA-cam of the 90's. Like back in the 90's we didn't have UA-cam so they had to use public access tv to broadcast their show. I think in real life they should start their own UA-cam channel and host musical guests, guests with product ideas to test such as they did with the Flowbee, and do reviews on music thats out now. I think it would be a huge hit and success!!!!!!
+John Smith Oh I know I realized that. I'm just saying they could of continued the the franchise and had a weekly youtube show and have real bands come on and they could I terrier them ect. It would be a huge hit! But they should buy the Wayne World Franchise so that it's not some big corporation running it.
I think it's just age to me they BOTH looked and acted really tired especially Wayne though... odiemodie1 I disagree. Stop making it a competition. Garth always had the fun expressions and was more wacky. I dont think it has anything to do with one having more energy or people liking one more
TheKillerQueenfan what I meant was, Mike and Dana are older now, and to do their characters Wayne and Garth as they were back in 1992, twenty five years later, a quarter century ago to this year, takes some props to do. They pull it off quite well here, but you can tell Mike's delivery is rather low in the energy department, whereas Dana has it abit easier because Garth is not as assertive and exuberant as Wayne. Saying all this because rumor has it a Wayne's World 3 is in the works. Awesome, they will bring back the 90's coolness into the new millennium... NOT!
odiemodie1 Notice how Mike paused to wait for an applause for himself but there was nothing and then Dana introduced himself and everyone cheered. Lol!
They should make Wayne's World 4... the plot? The master tape for Wayne's World 3 had been purchased, along with the rights, by a rich asshole pharmaceutical executive in 1996. But now it's discovered that the tape holds key evidence that can uhhh "save the day" (insert primary dilemma here), but now it's at risk of being destroyed, so Wayne and Garth must recover the tape at all costs

That was... EXCELLENT! Party on, Wayne... party on, Garth!!
