Wayne and Garth: Making better top tens than Watchmojo since 1988
Cory Baxter Cory in the House
Cory Baxter my nigga Cory, where Sophie at
Brian Scalabrine Burn
Holy shit it’s Brian scalabrini can I have your autograph
God is that you?
I'm just gonna say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to whoever kept Phil Hartman's voice at the beginning. In a way, it's like he was performing with Mike and Dana in spirit.
I didn’t even catch that. What a special little thing. Love it.
Yea thanks for bringing that up!
I think it's incredibly special that they used the Phil Hartman opening. Phil deserved to be in the 40th Anniversary. RIP
First thought good call
I wasn't expecting to hear that right away..it caught me off guard..this show was a big part of growing up for me.
❤
sad his wife killed him
I thought the exact same thing when it began.
Hearing Phil Hartman as the announcer in the beginning made me nostalgic and sad at the same time. Him, Belushi, and Farley were sorely missed on this episode
Gilda Radner
Great hearing Phil Hartman's voice at the beginning.
Aurora,IL!
I was thinking the same :D
That was awesome. So glad they kept that.
Missed him... Phil Hartman 4ever..
I had no idea that was him, but that makes me happy. ❤️
Did anyone catch the Phil Hartman voice intro? Rest in peace funny man.
+Neil Yaremchuk Nice catch.
+Neil Yaremchuk }
You know- I thought I heard him!
This literally the first thing I noticed and immediately became bummed out
+Neil Yaremchuk i did R.I.P Phil Hartman! one of the most funniest ppl who ever lived!!
Yes, Hartman himself always did the intro. It's pre-recorded... But damn it all, it's still part of the SNL cannon.
I love how these actors can come back years later and still play their snl characters perfectly.
Garth and Wayne are not snl characters
@@Huntershaw9 yes they are, did you even watch the show? The characters were created on SNL before being made into a movie
Wayne and Garth was an SNL skit, got so big it became movies
@@Huntershaw9 has his head screwed on straight... NOT!
Garth looks like he could’ve filmed Wayne’s World yesterday
Wayne aged a bit but Garth looks exactly the same
When Wayne would lose a couple of pounds he would look the same as in 1992/3 :) Garth is almost the same, but you can see his by his cheeks that he got older
Power of makeup.
Garth got married though!
Garth has an old man's quiver in his voice. They both do. God, this is unintentionally depressing, like Wayne and Garth are still doing their public access show in their 60s.
svennie pennie More like the power of botox and hemorrhoids. I mean good god, they look like they time traveled through the 90's.
Man, after all these years, Mike and Dana still have the old Wayne's World chemistry. Excellent!
I like that the crew is holding the cue cards telling Wayne and Garth how great the crew is
I like how Wayne’s impression of Lorne Michaels sounds exactly like Dr. Evil
Dr. Evil was indeed a send-up of Lorne.
Apparently Carvey would do the Lorne impression a lot backstage and when Meyers made Austin powers he pretty much stole his impression and used it as dr.evil. He gave an interview with Howard stern about it and they hadn’t been that close afterwards but they’re on better terms now as evident by this sketch they did during the 40th
That.....was the inspiration for Dr. Evil....Lorne's way of speaking....
Point of reference, remember that Mike Meyers was standing next to Kanye West on a telethon in 2005 when Kanye said, "George Bush does not care about black people."
I didnt realize that, thanks!
Tom Miller
ou yeah, butthuted Bush fan.
Tom Miller
So jelly.
i remember that, myer's reaction was hilarious XD
Tom Miller
stop being racist your holding us back
Oh my god, Kanye took a joke about himself and laughed.. Hell has officially frozen over.
lmao!
I wonder how much money he got for just "taking a joke"...
Because he got paid to do so. After the show he was back at the crib trying to calculate why they told him to stay in the "down and locked position".
how can you not laugh at wayne and garth
you assume they let him in on the joke
If Bill and Ted came back!!! We NEED the comeback of Wayne's World!!!!!
NOT!!
I think it could work if it's revealed that Wayne's World is a coma-induced lucid dream that both Wayne and Garth are experiencing; where it's always the late '80s / early '90s and they're forever young and influence the world with reality-altering effect.
Then they wake up and realize decades have passed. Most of the movie is them adjusting to this bizarre world until, finally, they go back to "Wayne's World".
Garth got into character so good he actually made himself look like he did in the movie lol.
You realize that they did this sketch years before the movie came out?
@@Danimal77 you realize you're totally wrong? this was for the SNL 40th anniversary special which came out in 2015, over 20 years AFTER the movie came out.
So that's where the voice of Dr Evil came from. Mike Myers' impersonation of Lorne. hahaha
***** They got back together for Wayne's World way before this sketch. I think became friends again around the time Mike hosted the MTV Movie Awards.
*****
Never knew....
Indeed, Dr. evil is supposed to be a combo of Lorne Michael's and Donald pleasance
is Lorne a woman? Or am i thinking of someone else? Isn't she the director of Waynes world?
And this will be the last time you see Mike Meyers for a decade.
jadenova 9 days
Did he make a journey through the deserts again?
Myers not Meyers
Bohemian Rhapsody, as a record excec, and he made a reference to Wayne's World
@@cocoquito4ever so much for not seeing him,
The minute you see that drawing of a cameraman and hear Phil Hartman, you know the WW logo is coming and you start screaming “Wayne’s World!”
They were my spirit animals.
I feel like Dana gave 150% and Mike gave 85%.
I think it's just age to me they BOTH looked and acted really tired especially Wayne though... The part with the wig orgy but he seemed agitated about it sticking and how slow it was revealed I think they're just old and tired and stressed and as much as they enjoyed being part of it again they really (especially Wayne) just wanted to split
Johnny Paycheck What an astute observation.
grizzlytomahawk Late comment, but what happened between them?
@grizzlytomahawk They've also been on Howard Stern saying they've grown past it
grizzlytomahawk Damn. Lol I’m 15+ years late in knowing this. But Mikes Dr. Evil was really a memorable hallmark of the Austin Powers franchise (especially to me as a kid)...besides Mike as Austin ofc. Sucks that Mike didn’t think to cred Dana or get his input/or lobbied him to be Dr. Evil. They seem cordial based on more recent interactions just not as close anymore :/ which is life.
omg it's 1992 all over again hell yeah...dam I miss the 90s...
90s were badass for TV and music.
Everyone does
9494 1869 same
I miss VHS and Blockbuster. And slinkies. Oh yeah, and live concerts without fucking cellphones.
I used to think I was born just in time for everything to go to crap, but then the 2000's happened. My own personal life sucked so bad in the 90's that if I had a time machine, I would go back to 1983 and punch my mom in the uterus to prevent my birth. Then, in the 2000's, the world around me went to shit too. Now, in the 2010s, I wish I could single handedly end the world because I can't go an hour without being reminded just how bad everything has gotten. I legit hope to be dead in a year or two, because the 2020s will probably be worse than hell itself. We'll all be watching "Dwayne's Underworld" and be on too many pills trying to cope with the latest national tragedy or entitled political group to notice the reference.
I can't believe they still have Phil Hartman's voice. God rest his soul.
The "Stay in your Seat" Kanye bit is going to Will Smith for the 50th Anniversary special
That room is holding a net worth of 100 billion
I'm pretty sure this confirms that Dr Evil was based of Lorne
Kenny Jones aka relientkenny Not only that, Mike specifically used Dana’s impression of Lorne which is where the pinky thing came from. Carvey was pretty mad about that when Austin Powers came out.
I thought he was based on Ernst Blofeld.
@@Scyllax you're both right
@Fuster Cluck.....aaaaand Kanye does?
😄
Aww man, Phil Hartman's voice on the Cable 10 screen. Made me tear up a little. Loved that guy. So much talent.
I didn’t want this skit to end 😂😭
I love that Wayne is still shredding on his 80's Washburn G-23V
It isn't Wayne's World without the Phil Hartman introduction.
It's like star wars without the opening scroll
Legendary Phil Hartman, as always.
And with the original Phil Hartman lead-in......awesome....
r.i.p
I started watching SNL just as Hartman started. He was always my favorite overall performer, just so solid.
Mike Patton wow I never noticed that was Phil Hartman!
Totally!!
“No stairway, Denied!”
Dana and miles doing Lorne Michaels is great. Dana’s totally responsible for making the impersonation of Lorne and bringing it to the forefront in which mike then used it for Dr Evils character.
It's amazing, that no matter the decade, they can still whip these costumes on and the characters never seem to age. Great to see them again
i actually teared watching these guys. dam it's been long since "the good SNL cast" left. i miss it. and RIP Chris Farley
schwing! bro.
I know I don't even watch anymore not the same since that cast as well as when Jimmy Fallon and Will was on. I saw Rob Schnider (sp?) live when he was on snl funny man
metalupyourazz1 did you know chris farley was actually irish
metalupyourazz1 I was moved the second I realized I was hearing Phil Hartman's voice in the intro. Took me by surprise. Yeah, came here for Wayne and Garth, and was boosted to another level before I saw their faces.
metalupyourazz1 I'm 14, and Chris Farley is still my favorite actor even though he died before I was born.
If you haven't lived the 90's, Myers and Carvey just took you there.
Wayne and Garth making fun of Kanye basically the entire time about storming the stage is the funniest thing I ever knew I needed 😭😭😂😂😂😂
Out of all the old bits these guys could pull off doing Wayne's World today like no time has past. They were great!
Man I would love a Wayne's World 3
Heres hoping
Oh my god YAAAS!!! I hope there will be a Wayne's world 3!!! That would be epic!
Wayne's World 3 with Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey nearing 60? No thanks!
Rawk4Life Did you not watch the video? They're still great at those characters. Would also be funny as hell watching them dealing with stuff now. Like the shit music and such.
*****
And they've had. Bring out Home Alone: The Holiday Heist, The crappiest Home Alone sequel since Home Alone 4.
3 Was alright.......Look it up.
We got Bill and Ted back after almost 30 years can we please get a Wayne's World 3 already!?!
Not mike’s Lorne impression sounding like doctor evil lol
I love that Mike Myers got his revenge on Kayne here (yeah anyone remember that Hurricane Katrina Benefit?)
iHeartRyanStiles wasn't that when Kanye did his thing about "George Bush doesn't care about black people"? Lol
PrinceTrexus yeah, and he was standing right beside him
Does Kanye have colored contacts in?
No that is demons eyes look it up
Toddlers Bop No that's natural eye color. Look it moron.
Kafkaesque Contact Lenses.
Toddlers Bop Is It Weird that Demon eyes seems more realistic to me at this point than Contacts? Lol
Toxic Twist I was totally being cereal. Demonic eyes. Ohhhhhh.
The real miracle of this sketch is that Mike and Dana look almost exactly like they did when these sketches were new. Hat's off to the make up department or whatever diet they've been on to keep them looking so good.
"Excellent!" there is no other word for this one.
The most excellent basement in the world returns....
Garth: no, its wierd. Its like were looking down at waynes basement, only..thats not waynes basement.
Wayne: chya that is wierd hey wait Garth; that was a hykoo
I always wanted Wayne's World to be an actual stand alone sitcom. It would've been great!
I love how waynes world is the only thing that, can make kanye west smile or laugh. Lol
Hearing Phil Hartman's voice is more soothing than any ASMR video.
And now...Deep Thoughts.
I'm glad they actually gave so much credit to the crew, they work harder than all of the actors put together, for so long of a time n r never credited or applauded for all they do. perfect for Wayne n Garth to have finally recognized them instead of just celebs n famous people!!!!
Did any one see Kanye Smile??
BlueBlitzGames ya and his eyes are not the right color it looks like he's part of the illuminati or is a lizard
Morphes Orphis because kanye is apparently Jesus
+Chong The Gamer butt cesnkkkp
Kanye's talent's like Jesus... Noone's seen either for over 2,000 years.
sebastian brigian omfg it’s called contacts dumb fuck
Aw that guy holding the cards was smiling when they clapped.
0:01 - R.I.P. great Phil Hartman! We never forget you!
I enjoyed this way too much... Especially the Kanye bit, "...there's a line of demarcation... don't storm the stage Kanye..." Love SNL.
LOVED the Kanye bit 😆
Funny how things turned out for him.
Garth had not aged
Oh yea he has
no
Shit this got 50 likes, I'm famous
congrats on 52!
Wayne definitely did though lol
"It's Wayne's world, Wayne's world. Party time... excellent" wheeeeeewww wheeeeeeeeeew
Much less hyperactive than the 90s, tho...
They’re both phenomenal ❤️ Dana hasn’t changed a bit!
They handled that malfunction so well I swear to god
Do you guys realize they were like the UA-cam of the 90's. Like back in the 90's we didn't have UA-cam so they had to use public access tv to broadcast their show. I think in real life they should start their own UA-cam channel and host musical guests, guests with product ideas to test such as they did with the Flowbee, and do reviews on music thats out now. I think it would be a huge hit and success!!!!!!
+John Smith yeah it was just a skit on Saturday night live
+John Smith Oh I know I realized that. I'm just saying they could of continued the the franchise and had a weekly youtube show and have real bands come on and they could I terrier them ect. It would be a huge hit! But they should buy the Wayne World Franchise so that it's not some big corporation running it.
Attraction Spot n
I think Beavis & Butthead should have a Let's Play channel
Mike Myers has been doing Wayne since 1982.
I have a feeling that Mike and Dana made the script themselves.
Imagine Wayne and Garth meeting bill an ted...that would be bodacious!
#1 Thing about SNL.
Chris Farley.
RIP big man.
"I live in a van down by the river!"
"Maybe I don't 'wipe properly'"
I haven't, "had sex with a woman." I uh, don't know "how that works."
"I don't let my scabs heal"
Forced Name actually #1 would be Belushi. Show some respect.
i was convinced kanye would storm the stage
he should have and make the joke even better; It would have been hilarious as well as good PR for him.
He shouldn't even have been mentioned. Worthless pos.
What kind of fucking ugly eyes Kanye have! Like a vampire!
Yo Mike and Dana, I'm really happy for you, Imma let you finish but Eddie Murphy had one of the best sketches of all time
Back then, he played along.
0:24 Dana Carvey looks THE EXACT SAME.. Myers looks like he's allergic to the couch.
Love Myers and Carvey both doing a Lorne impression. It’s what originally caused a riff between them that has since been patched up
What am I gonna do with a gun rack
I don't even own a gun, let alone enough to nessesitate a gun rack.
Would you like a hot pocket?
Get the net!
ValkySpeaks we broke up 6 months ago! Are you mental?
\Psycho Hozebeast....
I still waiting for Wayne's World 3 :(
I'm still waiting for Robin men in tights 2, or the sequel to every Mel Brooks movie.
Spaceballs 2: The search for more money!!!!!!!!
ZaLO still waiting for Austin powers 4
We're men! We're men in tiiiiii-iiights!
They should make Wayne's World 4... the plot? The master tape for Wayne's World 3 had been purchased, along with the rights, by a rich asshole pharmaceutical executive in 1996. But now it's discovered that the tape holds key evidence that can uhhh "save the day" (insert primary dilemma here), but now it's at risk of being destroyed, so Wayne and Garth must recover the tape at all costs
Few SNL bits bring a nostalgic tear to my eye like Wayne’s World :’)
Reminiscing With Wayne's world what fun. Memories Of my youth.
WE WANT "WAYNE'S WORLD 3"!!! This is PROOF that Myers and Carvey can still play Wayne and Garth.
They're doing it for Bill & Ted.
Hopefully after the Covid tides down.
It was at this moment i realized Dr. Evil's voice is just a Lorne Michaels impression.
So nice to see 2 of the most talented members ever give credit to the crew of SNL who have busted their rear ends for years without any real recognition. A class move on Mike & Dana's part, so rare to the "talent" even recognize all their hard work.
The SNL crew really is amazing. They have to overcome challenges that the crews on other TV q.shows don't. They have to make lightning-fast scene changes, more like a theater crew while also making sure everything looks good on TV. Most theater crews don't also have to deal with graphics, cue cards, or video switching to pre-recorded bits.
When Dana begin to speak as Garth, the audience got mental more over him than Mike as Wayne... Probably Mike sounded tired while Dana had more energy in his voice. Nevertheless, nostalgia.
Hodiemodie1
odiemodie1 I disagree. Stop making it a competition. Garth always had the fun expressions and was more wacky. I dont think it has anything to do with one having more energy or people liking one more
TheKillerQueenfan what I meant was, Mike and Dana are older now, and to do their characters Wayne and Garth as they were back in 1992, twenty five years later, a quarter century ago to this year, takes some props to do. They pull it off quite well here, but you can tell Mike's delivery is rather low in the energy department, whereas Dana has it abit easier because Garth is not as assertive and exuberant as Wayne. Saying all this because rumor has it a Wayne's World 3 is in the works. Awesome, they will bring back the 90's coolness into the new millennium... NOT!
odiemodie1
Notice how Mike paused to wait for an applause for himself but there was nothing and then Dana introduced himself and everyone cheered. Lol!
psycho analyzing everything generation
Great to hear Phil Hartman's voice
It certainly is
Phil Hartman voiced Blasto as well, memories.
Where did you hear Hartman's voice? From the Lorne impersonation?
suncore598 It was the voiceover at the beginning of the clip.
And Lionel Hutz from The Simpsons, oh wait... No, I meant _Miguel Sanchez!_
Will never give up the fact that Garth and Link from GMM were the same person all along
Hearing Phil Hartman's voice again wow its been years.. taken way to soon a SNL legend
Is it a coincidence that Mike Myers' impression of Lorne Michaels sounds like Dr. Evil?
Nope!
Now I'm going to have to watch the movie again
of course it is. the two actors are totally different from eachother its unreal
Robert Lopez Lorne Michaels is the producer of SNL, he's not an actor.
Robert Lopez Lorne Michaels is the creator and producer of Saturday Night Live.
man, being canadian i must say for a country of only 30 million we really spilled some unforgettable talent over the years. party on!
1:41 *Kanye sit down!*
Mike and Kanye have history lol
"Well It Got A Laugh... But Did It Get The Right Laugh?"
Wayne's World ohh good to see them again : )
It's not like the movie went extinct lol
ikr that's one of the only reasons I watched it XD
Dragon Master hj8?
IAm Taco
They totally missed an opportunity with the orgy one getting stuck. He even references "sticky"
Phil's recording of the voice over at the beginning kinda broke my heart. I still miss that man. 40+ years of SNL, that man is still the MVP...
Half the fun of this is spotting the people in the audience. Christopher Walken, Larry David, Jack Nicholson, Taylor Swift, Kristen Wiig, George Lucas, Emma Stone...
Olivia Wilde was in there too :)
Jason Sudeikis is in there too..
Jon Lovitz too
Wow, this kinda proves that Mike and Dana still have it, it's certainly not their best but it got more than a few laughs out of me.
Damn I was hoping to see him do the "i'm the leprechaun" lol
MIKE MYERS WAS ALSO NEXT TO KANYE DURING THE GEORGE BUSH THING LMFAOOOOO
Do these guys know how to party or what?
We're not worthy!!!
David Wright We're scum!
What?
sweiland75
I take it you've never seen the movie?
itsjemmabond
Ahomosayswhat?
Surprising that these guys have aged this well, like holy shit. They're still hilarious
That's the number one thing about all shows and movies that are successful, the crew.
A cross-over movie.. Wayne & Garth meet Bill & Ted? A Most excellent adventure man! Lol
It's actually crazy that some of the people that are in the audience are there. George Lucas is even there! I mean, I know it was an all celebrity audience and all that, just some unexpected people.
Ha! so Dr Evil's voice is really just a Lorne Michaels impression
I was not aware of that.... Get the joke?
@@gamebear911 Not!
Thank you to all who have and are involved with Saturday night live for which I have very fond memories growing up watching, salute!
George Lucas sitting right in the middle of everyone. lol!
This was the highlight of SNL40 for me. It was almost like no time had passed, and it made me feel young again.
That was an exceptionally great show of respect to the crew of the show; the people we never get to see, but make it all happen.
Even after all these years, hearing Phil Hartman's voice in the intro just broke me. RIP.
I thought it was really classy that the #1 slot went to the crew! Way cool to acknowledge them like that!
