I don't know why people don't take these storms seriously. They see time and time again how flooding can cause major damage. They will not go to a shelter. Write your name on your body with a permanent marker so you can be identified if you don't leave. 😮

Any storm over a Category 1 is extremely dangerous. Evacuate. The reports were saying Category 4 at least 60 hours before the storm. Get on a bus. Get on a train. Just get out.

You think that 5+ days notice is not much notice? Seems like plenty of time to pack the things that you want to save into your car and get out of town... The police were going around the towns telling people over their loud speakers that if they are not going to follow the mandatory evacuation that they should write their personal info in permanent marker on their skin to help identify them... Why would anyone stay? It makes no sense to me.

Most people who are victims to these kind of events are the elderly, extremely poor and the disabled. Some don't know what's going on or do not have the means to move or anyone to help them.
We need to always check on our less fortunate family and neighbors. And pass legislation that helps transport people who can't transport themselves before disasters. I can guarantee hurricane busses would be cheaper than search and rescue.

I believe Dave didn't quite hit the mark. He couldn't go to the location where the real news was happening, failed to capture footage of the woman named Selina, and his cameraman didn't manage to get footage of the car when it was completely flooded. Additionally, there was no footage of the scooter that wouldn't get wet for us to see. I think he spent more time buying those pants than preparing for this report.
