This is a video of the little grebe chicks at Benten Pond in Inokashira Park on June 15, 2024.
Last year, even after the eggs hatched, they disappeared immediately (I heard rumors that crows or soft-shelled turtles ate the chicks, but I don't know for sure), so I was worried, but this year, all four chicks that hatched safely are healthy, and as soon as their parents caught food, they ran over to be fed.
It's a relief that they're all growing up healthy💦

ほんと、かわいい！！うちの近所の浮草だらけの池でも子育てしてます。
赤色の外来種のアゾラクリスタータ（たぶん）が増殖してるので
赤色になっていくんです。鳥には、おいしいエサなのかもしれないけど、
ちょっと心配な池です
