Yes, he’s doing a very good job. I’ve done many floors in my time like this. Drive your floor scrubber slowly, and take your time over lapping about Les than half of the pad. Pick it up, flood rinse with a neutralizer, then a clean water rinse. Then damp mop it. It’s very time consuming.

While I’m still learning, I’ve done a few jobs with wax, and when that’s happened to me it’s because of moisture. The floor was either not dry before applying wax, or the coats weren’t even and it allowed moisture to go into the wax causing that to happen. I had a nightmare in a home where the client wanted a finish on her tile floor, but before I was even done they were showering and coming out the shower with wet feet walking all over their home. A week later I was back having to strip it off the whole house! I was so upset. I took the loss because I failed to mention they needed to give it a few hours to cure. I just assumed, my error there, that they would wait before doing all this stuff seeing that I wasn’t even done laying the coats down. Took two whole days to remove it from their house 🤦🏽‍♂️

hey chuck hope this helps. use a light duty pad on your machine so you dont ruin the polish, my favorite stripper is flash 55 from pioneer eclipse. let stripper sit for 10min, scrub thouroughly and dont let the stripper water dry anywhere. look for leftover wax and do it again if needed. flood rinse with clean water and some soap, squeegee, mop, let dry and for the sealer there are plenty of good choices for different needs. ask your local concrete vendor. keep in mind the stone beneath the wax is polished with diamonds, so try to remove the wax without stripping pads. maybe normal red scrubbing pad. key will be to let the stripper soak.

My first few jobs I did I used zep high traffic because it was cheaper and it was easy to get. After a few jobs I decided to by the wax from my local janitorial store. It was almost 2x the price, but what I found was that it looked better with the same amount of coats compared to the zep, and had an overall nicer look. It’s hard to explain, but I noticed a difference right away. I now adjusted my pricing to make up for the added cost. I just did a hair salon this past week and the client absolutely loved the results. So much so, that she asked me to be there at the grand opening so I could answer her clients questions about the floor and get leads for carpet, tile and grout, and upholstery cleaning. Even the building owner was shocked in the transformation of the floor.

Why do y’all use pads and not a brush on the buffer machine?

    • @SteamBossInc

A brush would not remove the old finish.

Hi, I work in a hospital as a cleaner for about a year and my job scope included polishing. The hospital uses vinyl floor instead of tile. I've only done polishing job twice and everything went very well. But recently, during the stripping process, everything went very well but it gets quite un-smooth during the polishing process. When i apply the 1st layer of polishing fluid(we use dolly mop and squeeze it damp, not wet. The polishing chemical is 502 Supreme Polish) , it become lines of continuous tiny droplets and appear obviously on 1st layer. I'll usually apply 3 to 4 layers of polish. At 4th layer, the finish looks good and the lines only visible when being looked at really up close. We also tried using lamb wool but god...the finish looks much uglier let alone last layer(4th layer). Do you know what might cause the polish become lines of tiny droplets? Some say wind blows, some say temperature, some say the mop is unfit for polishing job.
I'm not sure if waxing is different from polishing, but in your video, it appears that you use blower and apply the wax with kentucky mop(which in my experience it can hold more fluid than dolly mop). So i assume the wax property itself is different from polish. Just asking if you had experiences working with polish, faced the problem before and can help me solve it.
There are few videos i found online that uses dustmop. So we will try it out and see the outcome while waiting for your response.
    TQIA.

I remember when I was a DH in HK. It was my first time to work in that house (2nd employer). The flooring is same as that with my 1st employer's but I was puzzled how come the wooden floor is so dark and almost black. For a week I gradually removed the thickened "dirtwax" on the floor revealing the real lighter color of the wooden floor.

What kind of chemical stripper are you using? I noticed that none of you are using shoe protection. Is this type of chemical non slipery?

this was Jon don brand floor stripper. Yes it's pretty slippery and we never wear our good shoes on these jobs HAHA

FEW THINGS IF YOU ARE GOING STRIPP A FLOOR DO NOT START, THE WAY THEY START IR DANGEROUS YOU ALWAYS START FROM OUT IN, NOT FROM IN OUT, BECAUSE THE STRIPPER IS VERY SLIPPERY.

He was standing in an already stripped area which is fine. But as you say, it is slick as snot and if you start standing in the middle of it, that machine will sling you all around.

That floor in video isnt to bad. From title of video. Thought be way worse build up. Done floors in past. If tried to put floor stripper down. Then run a scrubber would stop dead in tracks. So would put solution down. Use a pole razor scrapper to get wax off. Then soak floor again with stripper. Then could run floor scrubber. Yrs of people just coating floor.Would equal a nightmare to get old dirty wax off.
