Futech - Measuring a slope with the new Procross 8.0 DS Green Cross line laser

Construction lasers are primarily made for leveling on the job site. However, sometimes a slope is needed, e.g. drainage from a terrace or a drainage pipe, or when you want to connect two points on a sloping terrain, e.g. when the street is lower than the threshold of your garage. That is why construction lasers have a slope function.
We talk about a single slope function if you want a difference in height over one axis. If you want a difference in height over 2 axes, we talk about a double slope.
In this movie we compare 3 types of slope functions that you can find on lasers: manual slope, electronic slope and digital slope. The gray aluminum profiles are level. We drew pencil markings on the wall that perfectly show the desired slope.
An electronic slope function is used in a similar way. You just don't need a tripod with tilting ball head or slope adapter. Put your construction laser with electronic slope function in manual mode. The device will no longer automatically level, but you can choose the desired slope as a user. Place the device parallel to the wall based on the vertical laser line. Allow the laser line to tilt until it crosses the 2 pencil marking. If desired and if your laser has a double slope function, you can also choose slope over the Y-axis.
The same exercise is even easier with a construction laser with digital slope function. Convert the desired slope into percent, e.g. a slope of 2cm per running meter, equals a slope of 2%. Set this percentage on the unit. Place the unit parallel to the wall based on the vertical laser line. Turn on the tilt function and set the desired tilt to one or two axes. The laser lines move until the entered slope is found. You can get started.
Think carefully about the slope function you need when purchasing a new construction laser. If you often work under slope, you can save a lot of time with a digital slope function. A manual slope function takes more time and is almost impossible when a double slope is needed.
