Sorry for the delay in uploading, I lost my voice over the weekend and had to rush to get this out today.
Also yes, I did forget to hook up 2 of the extractors for the lava pipe system, but I have since fixed that simply by running pipes under all 4 of the different extractors.
Hey Rage! Great stuff so far! Hellbark trees: pillar up 3-4 blocks, grow sapling on top of dirt pillar. Break pillar, add hellbark logs to ground. Will allow for lava draw, as it only checks the top log and for 3 naturally spawned leaves. You can also "add" another tree if you break one leaf diagonal from the first log set to add another 4 extractors to a second tree.
The reason the numbers on the drawer stayed at zero and the hopper had items is that the hopper beneath the drawer was taking out items at the same rate the hopper was inserting them.
Maybe this. Ore... did the Connectors output an Redstone-Signal, if connected?
I think both of the hoppers were just pulling at the exact same rate, so it looked like the vines weren't going in, but they were just being pulled out and added at the same time.
i think so too
When you lock a drawer without having any items in it, it won't accept any items. You must first insert an item manually to indicate what items are allowed in.
Hmmm interesting! I recall someone telling me before you could lock a drawer and then it would lock in the first item that goes in it, but maybe that was intended to mean manually inserted and not automatically.
@@RagePlaysGames I believe a drawer controller can put an item in an empty locked drawer, but trying to pipe directly into a locked draw doesn't work.
For rotating harvest contraptions, I like to use windmill bearings instead of mechanical bearings. With just 8 sails it spins itself at a calm but sufficient 1 rpm.
Only two of the arboreal extractors are hooked up to the pipe network
Yea I realized I got distracted and never finished that when I was editing the video. I made sure to put it in my pinned comment when the vid went live so nobody else misses it in their systems if they follow along.
you could also put one hellbark log then grow a tree on top of it and even though only one log is from the sappling it still works
Ahh okay, so thats how you make that work! I tried growing one THEN putting down the log below it and it didnt work, but I never tried growing it on top of the log first. Didnt think that would make a difference.
@@RagePlaysGames When I was using a Hellbark tree, I grew it 2 off the ground (on a piece of dirt), and put two logs underneath (in place of the dirt and below), and that worked fine. Edit: Feeding them spare Bonemeal also increases yield.
@@not-on-pizza Phyto-grow (made from all that annoying appatite you find while mining) works for "bonemeal" in the extractors too and its super easy to make up several stacks of phyto-grow.
@@minmaxmedia But Bonemeal is infinitely automatable in a number of ways. A small mechanical farm dumping everything into a Composter will do it.
@@not-on-pizza True that you can automate bonemeal with composters or slimy fern processing in the pack, but in the very, very early game when you are just setting up a rubber farm, you've probably only maybe done a mining run or two so automation may be difficult but you probably have a a mere 16 bits of Apatite which would make a stack of phyto-grwo to jumpstart your rubber production.
Just little advice, when I need to construct some trees artificially for arboreal extractor, I grow trees separatedly and then attach required parts of them to Create minecart contraption and move to the place where and how I need them.
Let’s goooo! All those machines looking insane!!!
while the portable storage interfaces were connected, the hopper was both pulling items from the farm and depositing them into the drawer at the same time. This means one item flows into the hopper inventory and another item flows out before you can catch a glimpse of the count change inside the hopper. this also happens with a container placed between two hoppers, such as a drawer. As the inserting hopper deposits one item, the extracting hopper also extracts the item and both of these events happen in the same game tick (aka: at the same time). if you had looked at the mixing basin or possibly the hopper feeding into the basin, you would have seen the items start backing up, indicating that the vines were flowing properly.
it is also not a good idea to use hoppers in a system that can back up with items, as the hopper could eventually empty itself of all but one resource, therefore turning into a filter for only that resource and allowing nothing else to pass through.
The way you’re talking makes me feel like I’m watching a documentary.
Lol is that a good or a bad thing? I love documentaries, but idk if most people do.
This is fun to watch
I’m glad to hear it! :)
will there be a world file download at the end of this series? im sure im not the only one who wants to explore Rage's base
There will be :)
Since I needed lava for those and you can make netherack renewable in this pack with destabalized redstone, I upscaled your Superheated Blaze. Cheers!
Thats awesome!! Definitely a large, but worthwhile investment :)
For anyone in the future, if you have access to enderium do not bother with hellbark trees. They are a cute lava gen for relatively early game, but much much worse than the current options rage has here. Setup a hose pulley in the nether in a lava lake, it should say bottomless supply. Then pump that lava to an ender tank. Chunk load the hose pulley/ender tank setup and now you have ender tank lava wherever you need it.
Since the vines come from the nether, maybe use netherrack for the “soil”?
Make a video about automatic chromatic coupound in vanilka Create, I’m just missing blaze cake generator because I’m lazy to build it.
Weeping wines grow from top to bottom as their name says weeping (means crying as you know).
You can use the Create wrench to instantly dismantle Create blocks by shift-right-clicking, unless this modpack disabled it
It is definitely enabled in this pack :) I am just SUPER bad at switching to that over my pickaxe because old habits die hard lol. Idk if Ill ever be able to switch really, since ive definitely tried in the past but muscle memory gets the best of me.
I really hope you touch on some of the other things in the pack like using demons dream and using spirits and such
Uh.... Hellbark... This is interesting.
I think i will use the EnderTank-Route (because of Magmatik Dynamos ;) ), but non the less... Interesting.
Hey, instead of the 3 gearboxes or the chain drive after the wheels to double the rpm, you can also use mechanical belts at 45°, it is another option for these situations and it kinda looks cool to me :)
26:47 adjustable chain gearshift would make it nice
Woo!
I think the reason the drawers didn't work first time is cause you were getting vines at the same time so it looked like it stood still.
cool
I always put three source blocks of water over soul sand that’s one block down from where you have yours here. Does that extra block of flowing (bubble) water not increase the power after all? I never tried this arrangement.
As far as I know 320 SU / 20 RPM is the max you can get from a waterwheel and this setup achieves that so I suspect at best there is no difference.
im gonna do it now i just finished chapter 4 or like i have automated calculation mechanisms but not the calculation processor and that stuff
usually there's no need to craft a vertical gearbox, as you can switch a gearbox between vertical and horizontal with your wrench
Ya know, I never knew that because I always stuck with my usual changing them in my inventory method. Chances are ill keep doing that too just cuz old habit die hard lol.
Why not use Blaze Cakes for the Blaze Burner? You're already buying them for the ore quadrupling.
There’s a lot of things around my base that can make normal heat fuel currently so I plan on using that instead of blaze cakes, which would be overkill since it doesn’t need superheating to mix and super expensive for running this all the time.
@@RagePlaysGames I mean, I get that, but you aren't really using the ore-quadrupling setup anyways.
34:55
imma do a spin
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Not sure if it's just myself, but it really bothers me that you placed the blue vines on the top drawer slot and the red vines on the bottom one when the red grows from the top down and the blue grows from the bottom up. Rage, pls fix
LOL ya know what, you’re right! Will fix.
I saw the comment about building up then growing the saplings, the trick I use because I use these for unlimited lava is I place two blocks grow a sapling then put two hellbark logs, I only connect one extractor to a tree. Then I break the leaves off the top exposing the top log place a new piece of netherack and repeat the first step removing all excess leaves. Now I have a double stacked tree that I can double extract from. rinse and repeat for as much as you want I grow the tree touching and have had no issues. I have found 120 trees with a single extractor for each will produce a bucket of lava every three seconds. the foot print for my farm is 5 blocks by fifteen long and can be tiled. I know there is easier ways to get lava but I enjoyed the challenge, other fun trick pipe this to a steam wheel with a mechanical arm and you can have an engine powered forever by lava.
Wow, thats not too bad to get 1 bucket every 3 seconds! Is that with no components in the extractor or with the highest tier?
@@RagePlaysGames base extractor no upgrades, I tried to build it as early game as possible.
I gotta upgrade my sweetberry farm. It's solid but chapter 5 is gonna suck if I don't lol
A better way to get lava in the overworld would be to have a hose pulley going into an ender tank in the nether and force loading the chunk
then you can put another ender tank in the overworld and extract lava from that
You are not wrong and I point that out probably less than 5 minutes into the video since an even easier way is simply to use an igneous extruder and magma crucible and solve it extremely quick in the overworld. I chose to do this because early you wont have ender tanks and once you have those chances are you could do it all with 5-6 thermal machines total (it just looks lame).
Little late to be making Infernal Mechanisms
Very true! I've done it semi-manually up until now since I dont use too many zinc machines, but I've promised people I'd make videos on all quests in the pack including side ones in case others want to learn how to do it :)
@@RagePlaysGames Are you going to go back and do the alchemy method of silicon production? You might find some interesting chaos conversions along the way
You forgot to connect 2 of the lava collectors
Haha yeaaaa, I noticed while editing that I got carried away and distracted by other stuff. Tried to post it in my pinned comment when the video went live to let people know.
@@RagePlaysGames okay cool. Btw i really like the series. I sometimes watch your videos to get inspired for my own world.
How does someone transfer lava through the Nether using create? Also is anyone else having problems with create due to the curse forge apps current model? It isn't letting me open create at all
You can use a spout to fill a bucket and then send it through the netherportal to the overworld and loop it back in once its empty. The weighted ejector can actually toss it through the portal haha.
@@RagePlaysGames oh how fun. Thanks for letting me know
34:20 you are using a fourth dimension
instead of using a bunch of gearboxes and cogs u could easily use belts!
Thats true! Ive always been against using belts since it used to use SU back when I really messed with Create. Havent adjusted to the fact they made them use 0 SU in the newer versions now.
@@RagePlaysGames Yeah! I never used belts too bcs of the same reason... but since they use 0 SU i started to use it more
Yo whats up Rage?
Not much! Just finishing up some things at work for the day :) hope all is well!
i accidentally wiped my hard drive that had my CAAB save on it :( i was about to start chapter 5
i am new
Hello there?
Also, any opinions on GregTech?
@Someone Lol Haha GregTech is awesome and wayyyy above my paygrade 😂 I leave stuff like that to Lash
@@Someone_lol_ Threefold started a nice series on GTNH if you are interested
69 coment nice
I truly admire the sort of min/max style of your builds and love your videos, but your inventory management gives me anxiety.
Can i ask what I could do better short of just not bringing the blocks I need for the builds? Its a huge pain to walk back and grab more stuff every few minutes so I find it helpful to actually keep it on me.
@@RagePlaysGames Occultism offers a remote storage interface option that would allow you to bring things up as needed, and there's a fairly nifty backpack mod in the pack as well that could add a ton of additional space for ye! I admit though, I don't recall if you've tried using either one or not!
Also thanks for responding!
