For me, having watched Messi since he broke in to the Barca team, it's just nice to see Messi playing with a smile on his face again, you could tell he wasn't enjoying being in Paris, PSG were just the only club that could afford him that were willing to pay his wages, he'd have stayed at Barca if he could have, I mean PSG had 3 superstar forwards and annoyed all of them (Messi, hated living in Paris and wanted out, so he joined Miami, a place where he and his family are actually happy
Neymar, just left for Saudi, had PSG fans protesting in front of his house,
Mbappe, despite his insane contract, wants to go to Madrid next summer) PSG are a basket case of a club

Messi doesn't go all out now as he's aging unless he absolutely has to. The only time he went all out during games in last 2-3 years was during the copa America and World Cup games for Argentina. Not to mention at Argentina, he actually has quality players around him on whom he can rely on that if he gives them a perfect pass, they will be able to convert it to a goal. At Inter Miami, that's not the case at all. Almost all old the players at Inter miami except Robert Taylor and the GK , lack basic football skills like receiving the ball properly or passing properly. Not a single of them could take a starting eleven spot even at Championship level club in England. They are that bad! So Messi also has to dumb down his game so that his teammates can keep up and they can attack together.

Exactly, Messi can read Goalkeeper's position and movement really well and has a god gifted accuracy on his foot. He has scored from such low shots which seem awkward from Goalkeeper's point of view many times in the past. They only seem like they can be stopped if GK was prepared but that's the thing. GK is a human and he needs to continuously position himself front and back and side as per the ball's movement and while doing so , he has to leave a certain side of the post less covered. Only an elite and experienced player like Messi could read those movements and can tell that now is a good time to take shot because the GK is on move now and won't be able to dive right away to save the ball.

Every 3rd League Team in Germany, or the UK, would play for title in MLS :) Remember, Messi is 36. He has not done so many goals at PSG. 16 in 36 games last season. He was still younger but the competitors are way better than in the MLS. But this will

Watched the game live from the UK. Miami were decent and played like team whereas Philli were over respectful and seemed almost scared. Thought the goalkeeper was terrible for the 1st 2 goals, so amateurish that it makes you wonder if it was deliberate. The basics of goalkeeping say for the 1st goal his starting position should have been edge of the box, then when the long pass came over, he could have sprinted out and cleared it, also when he ran back to his goal he lost his bearing and was stood leaving a huge gap to score into. For the 2nd goal again, he was too close to his goal line, basic keeping is that he should have been positioned outside his 6 year box, narrowing the angle, so it becomes a much easier save.

You can never blame the keeper for that goal. I don't think anyone was expecting Messi to shoot from there. He typically dribbles into the 18 yard. So I think the Philly defenders were expecting him to dribble or pass. The keeper was not expecting that ball as well. Moreover, Messi scored against Mexico at the WC in similar pattern. It is nothing strange to him. /*

@@blessingodion4092 You can definitely blame the keeper. His positioning was terrible. Anyone who actually watches the sport knows he messed up. Just because he has scored a long range shot before doesn't make the situation the same. If you just sweep aside all criticism of mistakes, how exactly is this league ever going to improve?

It's like the opposition is in awe that they forgot how to play properly. They don't close him down fast enough. Keeper lets in a long range goal he should have easily saved. You can even see after the game all the opponents go over to get a photo with him. They should concentrate on marking him more and less fawning over him.

The best way to conceptualize this is to consider Messi like a virus. Sure, it doesn't directly cause your depression - but whenever you get it, you're more likely to get depressed. With Messi being there, there's just too much for the rival team to take care of. So, you end up overcalculating things and making rookie mistakes.
