Yep. It was a total mess, if it was released today as a modern game people would have a lot more to say about it. The Skedar are totally OP and the whole thing is just a chore.
What makes this level even more bullshit is that the target positions to throw the target amplifiers are randomized in each gameplay (you see it with the R-Tracker but it makes it such a pain in the ass)
If you can throw a tracking device on the Obelisk shown at 2:51 use the devastator to blow up the remaining two obelisks to activate the level's secret weapon: Dual Phoenixes. You find a single Phoenix placed on the ledge at 3:04 if done right. Pick it up and you will find in your weapon inventory dual Phoenixes. Set those suckers on Exploding secondary fire and the rest of the level is a breeze. They can blow up the secret wall and the debris blocking your path.
@@SacramentoNativ3 it does work, but he didnt explain it properly. it only works if one of the obelisks marked by your r-tracker is the one shown at 2:51. you then need to put a tracker on the 3 obelisks as normal. then, you need to blow up the 2 remaining obelisks with the devastator and the phoenixes will appear on the ledge at 3:04
when I first played PD as a kid the skedar scared me so much I had nightmares...I guess probably shouldn't have been playing a game like this at that age but...hey...who didn't try
Ive literally JUST clocked this level for the first time ever now loool iove been trying to much almost brings a tear to my eye lol the sence of achievement is t much thank god i actually found the double PHOENIX which for me was the key
Shoot the pillars in between the middle one and outer ones first, then shoot the outer ones, then shoot the middle. You can only shoot the pillars when the leader is (recharging?), whatever he's doing when his shields are green. Try to stay alive in between.
How the hell did anyone figure out which walls to use that damn NadeLauncher on? Wowwww. Old school games had 500MB of data but played like a 70GB game with all the time wandering and hitting mission restart. Especially this level. I always thought it was glitched... nope just had to shoot absolute random areas with NO clue to pass through. Thanks for the vid. Awesome. I'm gonna slay it today. Let's go Jo.
I hate my 10 year old self, i remember buying this game, and im guessing the previous owner of the game, had beat everything and unlocked everything and i deleted it. Sigh, i hate my kid self lol
House_Party713 lol I don’t blame you I coulda had just created a new agent instead. This game is hard af. Especially this one here. I couldn’t even beat the queen of the skedar on here. I just totally quit after. But I kept playin death match
2:40 - 2:54 this doesn’t work anymore on 2022 on Xbox Game pass Xbox series X, wth? Edit: nvm, figured out The pillars that can’t be destroyed are the ones I need go find.
The tracker placement thingy is fucked up, while selecting the tracker make sure you place it very quickly or as quickly as possible. I can't even see why this game was even that praised but I guess the multi-player is more fun to play.
You use the R-Tracker and follow the yellow dots. The first CORRECT one you encounter, Jo will say "This seems to be one of the special pillars". However it's randomised on each playthrough and you fail immediately if you don't get it just right. No, you're not allowed to pick up the target amplifier and try again because f--k you. This whole mission was a badly designed, frustrating chore that soured the game. There is no way any of this would fly on a modern release and it shows how game design has changed over the years.
This was just too hard and soured the whole game. 15 minutes to get to this boss then you just die due to RNG, rinse and repeat. Fire off everything you have and still the shields don't go down, run out of ammo and die yet again. Another 10-15 minutes wasted. Took me a few years to beat this on the N64 just because I got so pissed off with it. You're playing on Agent and it takes a whole clip from the Falcon to take down a Skedar while they take away up to 20% of your health just by walking up to you? Just... no. You shouldn't have to know an Easter egg to get the double Phoenix just to be able to beat this, nor should you have to grind through the whole mission using nothing but the Falcon because you need the serious ammo for this garbage. Any modern game was released with such primitive mechanics and frustrating design, it would get panned by reviewers and rightly so. These games have not aged well.
This level is impossible. For some reason on my game it says I placed the amplifiers incorrectly (which I know is a lie). Oh well, developers always find some way to ruin what would be an outstanding game.
@@TheRelevantusername The problem is it randomises on each playthrough and you can't just pick up the target amplifiers to try again if you get it wrong. If you could then that would take the sting out of it. Even if you do use the R-Tracker it's still possible to miss or not place it correctly.
Hi there I’m going back home and I will be there in about an hour or two if you want me just come to do it or no one is going on the weekend and then I’ll go to do it and do not have money so no money or do you ever ever do it or no money no one is ever going back or do not have no one ever going back to your money or no money ee is your best thing you do ever do not do so 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
This last level is very poorly designed, and awfully frustrating for new players. Thank you for uploading this walk through.

@@mxbx307 Yeah, I'm just now seeing how you beat it, I never could as a kid. Lol.
The level design in goldeneye 007 was 100x better imo....great game but perfect dark has many poorly designed missions....

I remember there being a phoenix in this level but I forgot where I was....a hell of a secret
Literally cap doesn’t work
After like 20 attempts, THIS was the strategy that let me win. Thank you so much!

im stuck this level for years =\ just hooked it back up and decided to play it! about to start now.
Me to but 1 day I just beat the game
This remaster was worth it. It’s still worth it. It’s a masterpiece ❤
I have this on my old Nintendo 64 this brings back old memories

Perfect Dark went so hard
Some explain how to defeat the boss a little more, I dont quite comprehend. Do I shoot the pillar or the monster

@HomeComix101 Thank you.
wow, I keep failing because of the tracker placement!!!! WTF?!?! What am I doing wrong?!
I cannot get past objective 1
That's one thing I don't like about this- it doesn't really explain anything to you. I'm sorry, but this and Goldeneye just don't work anymore.

Kullen64 you have to use the r tracker to make sure they're the correct pillars. There are multiple pillars. This video is awful at showing that
