I'm sorry to correct you but a period isn't a sign that she's close to the end of her puberty- it's a sign that a woman's body is physically prepared to bare children if the woman wants to- the period is practically an automatic self-cleaning mechanism,if an egg is not fertilized,then that's when all the blood gets discharged and all that. If the egg does get fertilized though,there is no need for all of that so that's why the period stops coming when a woman gets pregnant. After having the baby the period continues until age 50 or so when the menopause happens
