“Little did James know, he was being watched, and his ultimate demised was being carefully plotted by the devious forces of the most feared villain in all of the comic book world: the evil Spin Tick!”😱😱😱
Regardless of how the crossing out of the 12 cents affects the grade, it's kinda cool. Gives the book some character. One upon a time, someone - likely a store owner - decided to put the book on sale.
That JESUS #1 comic is such a key as it features the first appearance of super villain Herod The Great and early sidekick Balthazar with his super charged myrrh!
That double-signed Spider-Man 2099 is also numbered, adding a bit more to its collectability. Heroes Inc. is an interesting book, created by Wally Wood for sale to Armed Forces personnel only (I suppose through PXs) but the distribution deal seems to have collapsed and few went out. Still, any Wood comic is worth having in my view. Monsters On The Prowl #16: beautiful John Severin pencils, Marie Severin inks and colours on King Kull. Marvel b/w magazines are such great buys but hard to find these days, and also they seem to be ignored by a lot of collectors - their loss, they miss out on excellent story and art. In fact, you have a fantastic range of magazines in this group James, and the run of Savage Sword is the highlight for me out of everything (with the Moon Knight books coming in second).
I didn’t see the word “back” when I read your headline quickly and I thought this was going to different video!😂😂😂 You did find a lot of good books that I’ve never seen before. 👍🏼
11:15 come on, they were protecting the Fortress of Comics from those dastardly squirrels that always want to nest and hide nuts in them! Remember, their ears are better than ours.
Some superb books in that haul, shame that speedy shooting up cover was cut as a return,I had lots of return books when I was a kid,but they were done differently in the UK, although some were done like yours most had an three quarter inch by quarter inch bit punched out of the comic,at the top (all the way through) or an inch by inch triangle cut from the top opening side again all the way ?
Restarted my comic collecting and some selling. What’s the best resource for knowing if a book is valuable. I use a few things , go collect and key collector but I feel like a goof looking at my phone while I sift through the books. Anything good to read to study up on what is good pick ups so I’m quicker. Or is it just experience.
Crushing the grabs👍🤘! In a previous video you mentioned you were leaning towards the funny comments for Wendigo.. not Hulk related but when I first started watching ur channel I was like why does he seem so familiar. I put it 2gether. Jason Bateman!!! Very similar voice and cadence especially when you want to make a point or really passionate about something! Have you ever gotten that before? Would any of you viewers out there agree? 😂
Sure! back in the day if books didn't sell - shop owners (Newsstand owners) would return the books to the distributors (only after a while they weren't required to ship the entire book - they started just cutting the trade dress from the cover off and sending it in to save on postage) When Direct editions finally arrived around '79 this was abandoned as comic shop (which were who was selling the directs) weren't allowed to return books. The business model was different
Overall you got some great books. I just wonder if you over paid? I’m not sure if you would get half the value and profit or not you have to make at least $3200 to make it a 50% increase Don’t forget you need to pay for bags and boards for a lot of those books which will eat into your profit. Good luck. I hope you do well.
Agreed, I would have def preferred to have been under $1k… there’s still plenty of profit, maybe even double. A bunch of this actual already sold on Saturday!
“Guys, there’s nothing there!” 😂
Lolol
My doggo does the same damn thing! 😂

How much would the price be affected. I've got one in really high grade with a similar scribble. Thinking if I should CGC it?
I know you couldn’t hear me but I screamed “hell yeah” when you said “can I get a hell yeah”
Hell yeah!
Best part, “Guys, there’s nothing there!”🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Those Moon Knight comics were in incredibly good shape for comics that age that weren't in bags/boards. What a haul!
Dude there's 9.6s and 9.8s in there despite NEVER being bagged and boarded... Pretty crazy
That JESUS #1 comic is such a key as it features the first appearance of super villain Herod The Great and early sidekick Balthazar with his super charged myrrh!

My dog is a 10 gem mint. I love her so much, but man when they get barking it’s hard to get them to stop
@@MintHunterComics Same with my dog AND my three cats! They all see ghosts and are trying to alert us!

Can you explain the returned newsstand? Not sure I understand the connection of that to cutting the cover.

That issue of deadly hands of kung fu is not Misty and Collen 1st app. Marvel teamup 1 is brother.
If that is the case, someone needs to inform key collector.com as I guess they got that wrong
@@MintHunterComics Deadly hands of Kung Fu is 1st appearance of the Daughters of the dragon...
Any word on what town you found those in?
I'll be back in NJ in a few weeks. I'm trying to find some good places to do some hunting on my own.
