I watched MANY anime in my childhood years, but Saint Seiya was definitely the most "epic" of them all. The fights were long and fast like in Dragon Ball, but they were brutal and violent. Like almost everytime a fight happened, I would get really anxious cuz I never knew if the character was gonna die or survive. Seiya and his friends were always beaten so hard that those fights are easily the most memorable scenes in this series for me.
I think Dragon Ball are empashis on cartoony, while Saint Seiya empashis on drama. And art like Bleach, Naruto, Yugioh and One Piece are close to Saint Seiya
i didn't saw the us version, but i'm not taking risk by saying the french version is worse with all the absolutely nonsensicals translations (aioros and his "electronic shock"(décharge électronique) , iki and his attack of the Phoenix that flies (le Phoénix qui vole), ect..)
