In this video we take a look at Brandy's (Mrs. IV8888) custom Robar Hi Power. This handgun is nothing short of amazing and the work was actually done by a very talented female gunsmith at Robar. We need to keep this a secret so don't tell anyone we took her gun out for a video, ok? Stay tuned, much more on the way as always.

Had a browning 9mm high power in iraq for a couple of months before it got replaced by the sig p226 british army now using glock 17 however out of those 3 pistols i still prefer the browning every time p.s you americans a really lucky what you can have over the pond i got a uk firearms lieance but we just cant have what you boys have god i be even happy to have your californa gun laws

That is high praise because those are three great pistols. I had a P226 and the only reason I traded it for an older German made P220 was all the safety "stuff" that California made Sig put on the newer Ca models.

Wow! That's saying a lot about your gun laws. I live in Cali, can't stand the unconstitutional restrictions. The people voting for more gun restrictions have no idea what they're getting into. They're willing to throw away their hard earned freedoms, earned at the expense of others lives, to have some preconceived notion that they'll be safer, but what they're actually doing is enslaving themselves to, and ensuring a tyrannical government, to which they will neither be safe (r) or free!! You get it. These dummies live here and are oblivious.

Robbie does nice work. Back when the .40 cal Hi Power first came out, about 1993, I built a Custom 40 for a customer. The last time I shot it was a joy to shoot. For the final finish I had Robar use his proprietary finishes. Leap forward and its now 2017. The gun is returned as the owner wants to give it to my new born grandson. When I unboxed the gun it looked like the day I sent it to the customer. I stripped the gun and cleaned it. There was little to no wear showing. The lack of wear can be attributed to Robar's finishes. This was an every day Pistol made to use in the real world where my customer could bet his life own. I hope my grandson is allowed to enjoy it for years once he is old enough.

I got myself a surplus 1965 Belgian Hi-Power off of AIM last year for $430, the finish shows some wear but it's the best $430 I ever spent.
All I did to it was put a little White Out on the front sight and bought a bunch of Mec Gar 15 round magazines, I am very happy with it.

I love the channel, and realize ya'all are fairly young, compared to me, but Robar became most well known about 30+ years ago for their NP3 finish. I used to live in Arizona back in the day, and dropped a PA-63 and had the NP3 finish put on...it was terrific and really made the gun look great.

For decades the h/p was the gold standard of pistols. I prefer the mag. disconnect as it gives you the option to make the gun safe from your kids & others by just removing the mag. The modifications are endless, but the most important is the trigger. Truly a classis that refuses to die.

What the refinished pistol has become is more tactile and useful under many climactic conditions, and is made MORE accurate by the application of texturizing copolymers!! I love you, baby!

I had a hi power for many years as my PPW, Personal Protection Weapon, I liked shooting but always thought it a bit big, when ever I got the chance to swap it out for my dad's Walter PP, 380, I took it instead, just to keep a bit more of a low profile, I didn't want to advertise that I was an off duty soldier, sum might get stupid ideas about taking me out, it was still the troubles and i was in my late teens and a part timer in the RIR, anyway back to the 9mill, I only got rid of mine about 3 years ago, I didn't have to because of legal reasons or anything like that, sum think that in the UK handguns r illegal, not quite true, in northern Ireland, with the right license we can have almost as much as u guys in the US can, I know guys who have .50 deserts eagle and AR15s and FN FALs. I have had 4 different types of handguns over the years legally, and I have never had a firearms license, because I am an ex member of the security forces, the only reason I handed them in, is because my mother and my wife hated them in the house, and since the troubles kinda stopped I didn't need them anymore, but i should have kept the Browning, I could shoot that thing like nothing other.

I am not trying to criticize a Browning Hi Power or the fine people at Robar, but I don't understand why the beavertail on a Hi Power looks the way that it does. Just my opinion, but they look like they are too low and too long. The pistols done by Nighthawk are the same way. I wish that somebody could/would make them more like the beavertail on a 1911. Not too long and a little bit of an upsweep.

"Don't tell Brandy" that seems coincidental as Matt from Demo Ranch says "Don't tell Mere"

pilot4prophet it's a super thin double stack. I own one and when I switched from fat target grips to vz g10grips and I had to adjust how I held it.

Seriously Racespec..? It's extremely easy to find national income data on whatever search engine you use.
I guess I'll stop trying to teach you things, it's obvious from your comment you have a learning disability.

There is a gap that can't be accounted for its just like 2% not 23% when you take into consideration things like career choice and maternity, and less likely to ask for raises ect.

Does any company make an affordable Hi Power? The new Browning's far exceed my budget. I've seen some surplus models come about but they seem to be low volume and are gone before I find out about them.

How much was the Robar treatment? I have an 89 model, the Browning bluing is so easily disrupted, may look into it. Iraq vet,2004-05,central near Balad.
