Hey Brent, this video is really informative to me thanks for that. Even though I’m 12 years old I really want to get a good understanding on what I will face trying to get into FRV, thank you very much and I hope you have a good rest of your day. 😊

Can i become a fire fighter at 18 years old in victoria? Apparently i need a green probationary licence for 2 years or something, but if i apply for next year i will still be on my red probationary licence, can i still become a fire fighter at 18?

Hey, this happened to me as well. I wanted to do it straight out of high school but was told they would just look past my application due to my age. Im applying this year and by the time I (hopefully) get to the employment process I will have had my greens for 2 years. In the two years that I waited to be old enough I just worked in similar fields to fire fighting to kinda get more knowledge in the area. Good Luck!!

Hi, unfortunately, it is a requirement that won't be looked past if you don't meet it. The fire service generally looks for applicants that has more life experience. I'd suggest getting your license, keeping a good record and good behavior, get a trade under your belt as it is also a requirement to have a few years work experience and come back and apply. In the meantime, you can check out my blogs and free training, staying up to date on my website and the FRV website.
