Love this!!. I tried it and made a big blob when I sprayed it a bit (in a wrong spot) so I'll be trying again. I REALLY enjoyed this. I think it will help me to practice loosening up as all my watercolors tend to be a quite a bit overworked.
AMAZING. I am someone who would normally NEVER even TRY to draw a rhino, but by gosh I did one with scribbling. Totally surprised myself and want to try again. And again. Great encouraging comments, Liz. You help us feel fearless, which is when the good art happens (for me anyway). Thank you!!
That was so enjoyable but deceptively clever in your unique way. Can’t wait to use the glass pen that you gave us on our line and wash course to try this. Many thanks😊
@@LizChadertonArt I came across a post that showed an artist’s lot, it basically shows an iceberg and the successful work is the tip of the iceberg. So true. Xx
Thank you! I’ve played with scribble drawings but this gives me more sense of direction…. of how to turn something fun into something more. And I think I’ve got an old bottle of Quink somewhere 😅.
This looks like so much fun! I want to be good at art so bad, but my perfectionist quality stops me from trying most things....that and I'm not very good at drawing. Thank you for the tutorial though because it was fun to watch this beautiful artwork come together!
Love this! I’ve been carrying both waterproof and non-waterproof pens and a sketchbook (or 2 or 3 😂) to alternate between traditional line and wash with watercolor (markers this time) and just the use of non-watercolor pens as a watercolor (marker) substitute. Such fun and lovely possibilities! Yet you’ve inspired me even more because this effect is beyond what I had envisioned, didn’t think of the monochromatic effect I can achieve with a slightly different technique (I don’t like the idea of taking a dippen with me when I’m out of the house). Look forward to use this technique at home though, without a glass pen for now though but I can always make your cola pen with an experimental new design to see if I can sort of mimic the glass dip pen’s perks over other dip pens 😃 Although it’ll have to wait because I’m being hold captive by my to needy cats, what a shame lol 🥰 Thanks for another great video, I love your approach to things and way of thinking 😁
sounds like you are doing all sorts of great things. I don’t dip pens outside either, especially a glass one. The only problem with using a cola pen for scribble art is that it might not give a long enough line per dip. But try and see!
I have done a couple of scribble drawings and was so much fun. I really like that you’ve added more interest with the spraying, spattering and brushwork. I haven’t seen that added to a scribble technique and love it! Where can I order the glass dip pen? Thank you!
If you check on Amazon or eBay you should find lots. They vary from £5 up depending on how fancy they are. Be warned, they are addictive!! You might like this film all about them too: ua-cam.com/video/rjWxsthCpIc/v-deo.html
Hi Liz, happy to have found you. Wow , this is stunning. So different. Very clever art work . Love your work. You are so easy going, easy to understand , a great teacher . Thanks for showing.👍😍
I really appreciate the way you explain how to do all the different techniques. And I love your style too!
You are so welcome!

it is fun and very meditative!
Marvelous!! I used to do continuous line drawing and forgotten what fun it was, you're a wonderful artist and instructor
Thank you so much! They are such fun to do, you let your mind wander with the line and it is very relaxing

These absolutely have a Searle-esque quality.
I take that as a huge compliment!

Hopefully it’s black Quink and should separate out.
Wow it's beautiful!

Take a look at Drawing on the right side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. it’s an old book but super for helping you draw!

This is amazing!!
thankyou - have a go,it’s such fun!
Are there 'good' glass pens and 'bad' ones or ones to avoid ? There seem to be such a huge range and differing costs. Any recommendations ?
I like ones with spiral swirls on the nib rather than straight as they hold more ink. Price is more about a fancy design...
@@LizChadertonArt thanks thats good to know.

Have you tried the Kakimori brass nib Liz? More unbreqkable than a glass pen that you can easily break
No I haven't. I did lots of research and decided they were too expensive for me - about £50 for the nib. They look amazing. Do you have one?
