Totally agree with you Andreas Hansson. I remember reading a fantastic a article about The prodigy in a Copy of NME. This very experienced American music journalist actually described Liam Howlett as a modern day Mozart! 😮👌😎👊👏🎹🎵🎶
Was hearing this group live on radio 1 live when they played at Glastonbury. When I was just 15. I feel in love with them. I'm 42 now. Best group EVER! Rip Keith 😢
People don’t realise that when they released ‘Fat Of The Land’ the Prodigy were one of the biggest bands/groups in the world. It went to number one in loads of countries. For a dance band that started off as underground to cross over to the mainstream and not really conform & ‘play the game’..that is incredible.No-one could lay a glove on them between 95-98 as a live act..simply amazing.
he did eventually conform to mainstream with all the next albums that came after. Luckily with the last one he went back to where it ended, at least partially.
In 1992 I was 16. I wore my fathers suit to get into Ritzy nightclub in Bristol. The reason was that The Prodigy were doing a live PA promoting a few tracks of the The Prodigy Experience album. A few weeks earlier I had managed to get a one side white label copy of samples from this album and was surprised to see them in my local cheesy nightclub. They performed after a 90s chart medley and were followed by some shite R and B. Only a few of us knew the prodigy in the crowd, I was blown away by their presence and sound. I was a raver at heart and wasn’t shocked as such by this new music, I had heard similar at dreamscape but this was the beginning of the cross over from underground rave to mainstream charts. They performed death of the prodigy dancers and brought some dancers with them! I got covered in their sweat as I raved right next to the stage. I was there at the beginning and still loving this as I approach 50 years old. My children appreciate this music as this is what I raised the on, RIP Keith.
Approaching 50, dont say that cause I was 16 in 1992. 48 in 6 months time. Edit: after retreading my message, I'm not sure if I'm 47 or 48 this year. The years haven't been kind.
It's legendary music like this that rattled and shook my car to pieces...not joking. At age 17 drove around hackney, Finsbury park..my hood..my car literally shook, had to get my mirrors and windows reset and tightened every now and then..best days ever!
undiluted Prodigy. Still half a psychotic rave act. Half about to become the greatest cross over act ever. Keef not quite Firestarter but getting there. What a special performance.
Music for the jilted generation is the best album I've ever bought. If they re-released it as an updated version, I'd defo buy it. When you listen all the way through, it's like a story, and I can't explain any better than that.
I was there. When Keef came out in the bubble everyone went mental. Total rock star. I seem to remember him falling off the stage too. Didn’t see it on here. The mind plays tricks. You play tricks back.
Ah wow fair play to you Tim. Been a huge fan since my Older brother introduced to their music back in early 92 & never looked back. When I heard charley for the 1st time, That was me hooked for life fella. Liam Howlett was a modern day Mozart for the pioneering he played to Make the prodigy a musical Heavyweight 💪😎👌🎧🎶
this was the moment the Prodigy moved from underground to mainstream and electronic punks cleared out Britpop, moving from niche electronic music to a span of appeal to so many genres. Long live the Prodigy.
I would say the release of: Firestarter was the song that got them into the mainstream. I was a kid back then, so if you're older than me then I would say you know better.
Fucking awesome remember when Keith had long hair . Then breakand entre great track and he came on stage in big plastic amster ball and punked right up yeah !!!!!! Always evolving with the time now they touching 50 still going strong .. 🐜⬇⬆🎧
id love to hear them coming up with this idea, "basically liam ive had this idea were i come out to the set in a massive ball, liam: yeah alright then".
I mean the guy came up with shit in his bedroom at a young age then became part of a global phenomena. Can't take it away from these guys they are god damn legendary.
Liam Howlett is a music genius
Absolutely
Инженер звука - это не пустой звук 😎☝️bigup for Maestro🔥🎩
He got me into making electro tunes. The way he overlays to give it depth.

I'm 95% a metal head but I will always love this song and I can't watch it without shedding a tear

I was in the crowd here in Glastonbury 1995, I am 53 now and still love them, still mourn for Keith. Man was a legend.
@@JapanZen I'm nicely envious 😊. Must have been mind blowing.
Keef😢
i love the live version of Break and Enter. The introduction of the dark era.
One of the most intimidating intro songs to an album. Just sounds evil.

Experience is their best album. Was 17 back then
@torisfour1566 I can't remember that album. My first album of theirs was, Music for the Jilted Generation.
@@stephenphillips7699 was 2 years before gilted.A double vinyl with tracks as jericho, charly, out of space etc
@torisfour1566 that was my favourite type of music that they did. Out of space.

Can confirm. I remember Maxim saying he'd never seen a crowd like it. Amazing.
They must have edited that out the falling off stage part. I never knew that .

As I remember Oasis we’re on at the same time. We watched two turgid songs from them and then went and rocked out to the Prodigy. Class!
We chose The Prodigy. No regrets
Nice.
We did exactly that.. 😆👌 27 years ago.. I'd never make it over that fence now!!! 🤪🙃😆
Fuck yeah!🤘🏼
Thats exactly what i did no regrets at all
😂 love the ailen vibe they give off!

One of the greatest tracks of all time. But already overshadowed by their transition I will never understand.
Such a change of pace from the likes of out of space and wind it up.
The energy was insane.

I was at around 8 gigs love them all regards mike the bassist from the band the pink hurts seaside fishing village town UA-cam

As I write this in late 2023, this gig was almost as close in time to the release of Sgt Pepper by The Beatles, than it is to today.
