My grandfather handed down to me a Modelo 1891 Argentine Mauser 7.65 Lowe Berlin. I have not shot it much. What factory and grain do you recommend?

Yeah 7.65x53mm is no slouch. I have seen it do things in terms of power that puts .308 to shame and their isn't even that much difference in the case and bullet dimensions between the two cartridges.

Until you said it (7.65x53), I thought this was about the 7.62x51.......even though it was clearly in the title, lol.

The two are very similar I'll say that much. But you'd be surprised how much more powerful the 7.65x53mm is. .308 is powerful in its own right but I've seen 7.65mm take stuff and throw it several feet up into the air! I've seen .308 do that too but not on heavy stuff.

@@pliskenx51mm83 man I’d love to have the tools & materials, but more importantly be confident enough in my competence, to be able to reload! Of course because of the current state of ammo supply & demand & consequently its current cost, therefore more importantly it leaving me with the inability to practice & get more comfortable & confident with my weapons but also inability to just go have some fun plinking because each round is precious @ nearly $1.10/rd.

I agree! I love both rounds. I actually started out on the 7.65x53mm and then moved to .308/7.62 NATO later on. But both are absolutely great rounds. Go check out part 2 and 3 if you enjoyed part 1 if you want or haven't already! Thanks for watching!

I cover the two pretty well and give my own accounts for them both. I've had alot of trigger time with these two cartridges.

Anyone know if you could use 123gr in the 7.65x53? I want to use the rifle for hunting but can't find the normal weights in expanding projectiles and lead free, but I see some in the 123gr. Thanks
