  • @bradyhack2428

    It would be so easy to just forgive them. If you just forgive 10K then add more crazy interest it’s all for nothing.

  • @bradyhack2428
    @bradyhack2428 2 роки тому

    That’s not necessarily the case. Maybe now that they have the pause, they can actually afford their bills and have something left at the end of the month. When the loans start up again their back to struggling.

    If you are successful and still have student loans, that’s not a burden, that’s a personal failure to prioritize paying back your loans that you agreed to.

      Dude the fed just increased rates, and just said they will increase rates 6 more times this year, a lot of people could of refinanced at much lower rates so the longer the moratorium is extended the higher interest rates will be when people have to start paying them back, in the short term the moratorium helps people but at this point it’s only adding thousands of dollars to their loans with higher interest rates coming, also in 2023 the fed is expected to raise interest rates 5 times,

    This is really a SoFi commercial. Take a Federal loan and turn it into a private loan. That's what they do.

      @@hopNglo It's time the country start supporting those who contribute to economic growth, rather than those who suck off of it like student loan servicers. Time to stop punishing ambitious people who take short cuts making a living off of lending and reward those who truly produce for the country. The only people getting rich in this economy are the ones who feed off the carnage of those who are the true innovators and drive progress. Loan servicers, bankers, lawyers, and rogue government agencies do nothing but drag the country down. They certainly don't build it up.

    I still have student loans. I used to be a struggling student working full time. Now, my income wouldn't qualify for my student loans to be forgiven. If students are going to have their student loans forgiven then the folks who have paid their loans should get a tax write off or something. I know the world isn't fair but students (including myself) took out these loans with a promissory note to pay them. It's not the tax payers responsibility to pay off other peoples student loans. How about take that money and stop cutting budgets for our public school systems? Pay teachers better? Provide better meals at school?

    • @y1e2t34i
      @y1e2t34i 2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for this. I sometimes feel like I'm insane the way that people talk about student loans. If we want to talk about fairness, one would think that people who graduated between 2007-2012 (you know, people who graduated into the worst economy in the last 50 years) and paid off their loans (you know, like they were morally and legally obligated to do) would receive some kind of relieve if blanket loan forgiveness is to move forward. Appreciate the comment.

    Those who have the means should pay their loans??? how about wealthiest 400 families in US who paid 8% tax on their income in last decade? US is built on rich getting richer. If anything, rich student's loans should be forgiven and poor students should pay up. Just like paycheck people pay ordinary tax rate, rich people pay favorable cap gains rate.

    More than half of student borrowers ow less than 20K. That is substantially less than the cost of a moderate new car. These same kids who can’t pay off their student loans seem to be able to buy cars and pay them off, take trips domestically and abroad, fund weddings and bachelor/bachelorette parties etc. why can’t they pay off student loans in a ten year period? Now grad loans are on a different ball game but you would think if your smart enough to go to grad school, your smart enough to do some basic research an d find out if your academic program is a cost benefit positive before taking out a loan.

    • @diegolara4202
      @diegolara4202 2 роки тому +3

      Exactly! I have posted this same exact comment many times. They complain about 20k student loans or even 30 k but will drive around a brand new car that cost 20k or more than needs to be paid off in 5 or 6 years. But no one complains about having to pay a loan for a product that loses value the moment you drive it out if the dealership.

    • @princesskaitlinhazelwood4703
      @princesskaitlinhazelwood4703 2 роки тому +2

      @@diegolara4202 now I do believe for some people these loans are a true hardship. Especially those who did not graduate. But for the vast amount of undergrads who completed college
      And secured an entry level professional job, this should not be a big deal to pay off. You essentially have two car
      Payments till you finish paying them off.
