for those wondering, yes, they're that chubby naturally. they use the far as insulation from the ocean and to help them swim as it helps with buoyancy. obviously due to the evolutionary path they took, they pretty much lost all mammalian appendages like arms and legs and finger digits.
The one seal just floating there with his body upright, like a security guard. Situation normal, the hoomans are still on their side of the invisible barrier.
OMG, it's Jason!!!! I visited this amazing aquarium a few times while I was living nearby and always used to just watch this adorable little chonk critter for way too long whenever I was there.
